I can imagine the still and the calm of many of those images. Very poetic. Greek colors are a very strong blue and white, but there is always a good argument for monochrome when you create and narrate as you have shown. I enjoyed this Tatiana. I am closing my eyes and imagining a wee coastal village there, some sardines on a plate with nothing but olive oil and soft bread to help polish it off. And a glass of wine. Peace.
I missed your comment there, but yes I love that closing your eyes and imagining that scene, definitely in par with reality. Thank you for watching and commenting! Peace!
Respected T, you’re a great photographer, greater film maker and even greater writer and a tutor. Thank you for doing this 😊 cheers from Melbourne, Australia
@@TatianaHopper I’m so thankful for your videos! They serve as the perfect reminder to find time in my own life to photograph. And offer a friend in an intentionally lonely moment of time for me. Glad I get to experience your journey 💕
On trips like that I realised that I enjoy the process the most when I take one camera and one type of film. That helps me to reduce the anxiety of having too many choices. For example, Nikon FA with Ferrania P30 and a 50mm lens.
Perfectly understandable, for this trip I actually bought only lomo 800, the rest of the films I had already and just scooped them out of the fridge ahah. Appreciate the tip, will do that on other trips.
Not sure if I commented here or not so apologies for repetition if so. This is the sort of video I like. Thoughtful, expressive with some great photos. Empty restaurant my favourite.
Stunning video, Tatiana. Excellent video and photography work too. And enjoying what you are doing is giving awesome results. You did a fantastic job, my friend. Antoine.
Thanks for watching I think feelings like these are part of what being a photographer or creative of some sort entails, I think they’re necessary to progress and do bigger or better things :)
If you want something other than a typical beach holiday, this is indeed the best time to visit. That freedom and sense of lack of fear is true of most of Greece's rural areas and not just the islands.
Thank you for touching on self pressure and doubt, that’s something I know we all have going on in different ways and I feel comforted in listening to your words and knowing I’m not the only one. Also travelling seems to be a good getaway of one’s mind. Amazing video loved both images and footage 🎞️
If you come to Greece again, don't miss to visit Amorgos, the easternmost island of the Cyclades! I lost my heart and soul there in 1984 ... Things have changed there since then, of course, but the scenery is just breathtaking. If you visit the mainland, the area of Leonidio (East Peloponnese) could be interesting (depending on what you like to find) ...
Beautifully crafted!! - Thanks a lot for sharing! -I always enjoy your unexited comments, Tatjana and your poetic approach to lyric! - The bw-footage seems very archaic to me...giving me an association between the serendipity of a lazy summerday and some "Alexis Sorbas- locations".....! - Maybe you should try Zante (Zakynthos) next, it's the most south Ionic Island, great coastlines and landscapes and should not be too touristy by now...or Hydra, an island closer to Athens, were Leonard Cohen met his Marianne.... and lot's of local artists live....! Wish you a lot of inspiring moments and a great time!
Thank you so much Margot, I appreciate the insight there I will look up those places as I do know I need to go back, this was only a little glimpse at an amazing country and people. I love your association of footages there and I agree that was also the effect I was looking for. All the best to you 🙏🏻

Spring is my favourite season so for now it’s nice to enjoy the fine weather at home after a long winter. Excellent snaps and presentation as usual … ta very much! 📷🙂
Your work on this video gives me a completely different perspective on photography and life . Slow life and let it be , whatever will come will come , the principle of Tao philosophy . Let the world turn and we flow with it .
I have recently bought a camera and your videos and words are truly inspiring and motivating. I can't find a video anymore where you talked and recommended an online print shop. Can you link it again pls?
Im currently planning my first out of country trip with my partner. It's been a long time coming for me. This past 2 years has been pretty rough. I need change and i need to do something extremly different with my life. All i really want is to travel. Any way i can, i will as long as my family is okay. We are gonna go to Japan for like a week and my goal is to just forget everything and immerse myself in another country. Im going to get lost so i can hopefully find a new perspective on life and general. It's been screaming at me for years and i can't ignore it anymore
I think for me it was super important and that’s why I try to travel as often as I can even though life doesn’t always allow for it, but I think it’s necessary for the soul, to rest and give yourself a new perspective, I hope you have an amazing time in Japan and that it gives you the break you need, much love!
I don't think i ever could meditate the traditional way, but this video felt like that for me. I think that was maybe what you hoped. You achieved that.
Since my left eye is dominant, it’s probably hard for me to shoot with my right eye 👁️ while having my left eye opens… I don’t know… I was told this’s how you supposed to use a Leica rangefinder 😊
Lovely and evocative, which I have grown to expect from your videos. Many years ago I wondered into a book store and found a remaindered copy of a book called A Greek Portfolio by the photographer Constantine Manos. It has been with me for half a century and many of the wonderful images in that book came rushing back while watching your equally wonderful video.
Seriously, your videos keep getting better and better. But perhaps more importantly, the way you take photos and how you reflect on your process is very inspiring - your philosophy and distinctive photographic style makes me want to shoot more often than I do. I really love the images here and look forward to seeing more videos like this.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your words, I can sense that myself, the evolution you talk about. I think making videos about other photographers and constantly dedicating myself to photography has most definitely made me a better photographer! Thanks for watching and all the best!
Your photographs are excellent. I love how this trip connected with experiences from your past and present and that - through photography - you could not only make connections with photography and your mental/emotional life experiences but with the greater history of photography itself. The shot of the father and son with the boat is really special. Thanks so much for sharing this trip and your experience with us. 🙌
Thank you so much I really appreciate it and yes the Azores is somewhere I want to visit, curiously enough my brother has been there and he described the same feeling!
While your photography and editing are always great, I really appreciate that your narrative was very personal in this video. I am glad you shared this experience with us.
Thank you that’s a point I wanted to turn to, I didn’t want to make videos about my photography in the same manner I did before, because I really wanted it to be about the narrative and what I felt about the place kind of like a visual diary so that’s what I went for :)
