Your a legend mate! Thank you. I'm in the UK and watch your videos all the time. They've helped me do loads of jobs on my 500EXC - F. Really appreciate it.
    Cheers 👍🏻
    Jim.

Wow! It is dead easy. You have to love the fact that there is no linkage on the rear damper. Thanks for a great vid.

I think that's why I put it off for so long, scarred from dealing with linkages on previous bikes. 😣. But the 500, so simple!

What a breeze. The chain adjustment system is a PITA compared to the DR650, which is the best system ever invented. Another great thing about the 500 is that you can have the shock out in under 10 minutes without removing the wheel. My bike is a 2018 with 98hrs/6000km, best ADV bike ever made and never will be bettered.

I had to do this last fall on my 2013 to replace all the bearings and chain guards. Had some side to side play in the swingarm. I dont know if the bearings every had any grease even from the factory.

Just be carful when greasing the roller bearings - they stick to the grease on your finger and when you remove your finger - out come the roller bearings and you have to put them back in. 🙂

    Keith. I love your channel
I’m curious what if anything have you done with your suspension setup?
    New springs?
    Valving?

Suspension is 100% stock. I am only 70kg so the stock springs work well. Can't fault it.

Don’t go medieval on the master link, use master link pliers and a chain tool.
