    I was wondering how it looks when the ladies mantle blooms? Does it get too messy looking? Did you prune off the blooms to keep it cleaner looking??? if you DID leave the blooms on, do you have pics of it? Thank you!!!

    Beautiful wreath! I've never made a living wreath before - but this video made me want to give it a try! You really have an eye for these things!

      +CaliKim29 Garden & Home DIY Thank you so much, Kim!!! :) I want to see pictures if you give it a try! I made one earlier this year with herbs and I've been loving it, except if I were to make it again, I would put it together this way. Much easier. Thanks for watching! ~Laura

    Hi - I love this. I am looking at getting a wreath form, but none of the ones I can find have the backing like yours. Can you direct me to a link of one you like or recommend?

    Can you do this with Lavendar? I have been having mosquito problems and my HOW wont allow me to put a plant outside my door, but allow wreaths.

    • @Jack-oc2xq
      @Jack-oc2xq 5 лет назад

      Em Jay what’s a how, also I don’t think lavender would do very well, they don’t like to have their roots messed with and it wouldn’t look as well I think, you could just make a wreath with lavender blooms

    As I thought of my question, an idea came to mind. I think this could be done with African violets. You could install a nylon wick throughout the soil. To water you'd just put the wick (hung slightly outside the wreath) in a decorative water container. Of course the soil would have to be very airy ( perlite/peat/vermiculite mix). Maybe a plastic liner in between the moss to hold the moisture in.

    I love ladies mantle. It was the first plant I didn't kill in my last garden! LOL. How would you recommend watering the wreath?

    • @gardenanswer
      @gardenanswer  9 лет назад +2

      +kit brown Hi Kit! I water it by taking it down and putting in on the ground, water it thoroughly, let it drain, then hang it back up! :)

    you may have mentioned this already in your video - could you reuse that same moss mat for your next living wreath arrangement, or would you have to use a fresh new one for each project?

    • @gardenanswer
      @gardenanswer  9 лет назад

      +Emily Enns Yep, you could use the moss mat again. I bet you could re-use it a few times before needing to start with a fresh one. :)

    • @gardenanswer

    So Pretty! How do you care for a living wreath, and how long does it last? Do you need to water it often, or is the rain typically enough if it's outside?

    • @gardenanswer
      @gardenanswer  8 лет назад +1

      +Cherish Hull Thank you! I watered this wreath about every 2-3 days in the heat of the summer, then when it was wintering in the greenhouse it was given water every 2 weeks, now it gets water about 1-2 times per week. It totally depends on the weather, but unless you live in an area where it rains a ton, it won't survive on rain alone. It's growing again and looking pretty this spring! We just did an update video on it! :)

    Are you going to say ANYTHING on taking care of the green LIVE plants you use? Do you throw it away? I literally spent 40 mins of my time trying to figure out if you answered anyone about preserving the greens or making a video about it. It's making me mad.
