Fellow raw vegie eating girl here.
My favourites are brussel sprouts and asparagus. Mum and dad's friends had a brussel sprout farm until I was about 10. Whenever we visited Aunty Anne always told us that when we were outside playing we could raid the sprouts for a snack. I made good use of her offer. We grow asparagus and the first spears have just appeared. Hubby laughs that we have a 6'0" mouse (me) in the garden because he sees asparagus grow but none appear on the table.

Yay, we should start a raw veg eating group ;)
What a lovely childhood memory! And all that asparagus to yourself, enjoy!

I’m so jealous that you have a slow combustion stove. Its what I learned to cook on and I miss it a lot.The food always tasted so much better

It’s such a lovely stove to cook on and really slows you down with all the steps to cook on it. So lovely that you learned to cook on one.

Yes, like toast cooked directly on the stove plate needed only butter...

Thanks for a great video with lots of info. I love that you have a Passive Solar Home. I live in a mudbrick home with some passive solar design. I live north of Ballarat on property and it gets very hot in summer and very cold in winter but our home is quiet comfortable if we manage it well. I loved all your recipes. As i don't really cook I am in awe of anyone that cooks from scratch. Think my favourite was the stew.

We have tried to make our own pasta sauce in the past - don’t think we will get enough tomatoes this year to do this. My husband and I don’t necessarily agree on how the sauce should be flavored. Thank you for sharing.

It’s hard when there’s different likes in food. I feel grateful that my kids and husband aren’t fussy over food but I have friends who go out of their way to make different dinners to suit different family members; it’s a lot of work!

I've NEVER HEARD IN MY LIFE THAT GARLIC & ONIONS ARE BAD FOR ACNE. I'VE BEEN A NURSE FOR 48 YEARS, & EVEN WORKED FOR A DERMATOLOGIST. HOW OLD IS YOUR DAUGHTER? MY PARENTS GOT A BUILT IN POOL, & WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF SWIMMING, MY BROTHERS HORRIBLE ACNE COMPLETELY HEALED UP TO NOTHING.

You learn something every day! I enjoy sharing what we learn and what works for us as I’ve learnt so much from others sharing what’s worked for them. Not everyone is the same though so something that works for one person may not work for another. It’s amazing when you find something that works though! 🙌
