I’ve got 3 rain barrels, 100 200 and 300. Brill for summer.
@patriciamalloy9131 👍👍 I'm all for rain butt's....however...this client HAS a large rain butt AND hose on the wall but both no good if he doesn't use them 🙈😅
Listen to Lee. You know it makes sense.

Hi Lee , watering is vital with bedding plants in pots .
Good video… warts and all !
Drew in south Belfast .
@MagillGardenservices1964 💯👍 cheers buddy
Listen to Lee!🤩👍
😅😅😅...and THIS is a good example of why you should #listentolee 😝
Know exactly where you're coming from, I have clients that don't water anything! Problem is, it can take all day to water everything. Constantly moving multiple sprinklers ,whilst using watering cans. Which means I have no time to do the maintenance!!
💯👍...it can take ages to do it properly even with a hose if there are lots of pots / tubs...( but worth it if they do it)
Time for a drip irrigation system. Thanks for the video.
😉 they have their place 💧
I water pots until they bubble. Also use weta soil to retain moisture and water less. I also use the last rinse from the washing machine. The old finger test, put a finger into the soil after watering to see how wet it is. Water is precious in Australia. Pretty pots and great ideas Lee. I am thinking of putting one near my front door with spring colour. I don't have any pots at the moment. ❤ Sue

It’s because you care, Lee. Very sad to see the tubs not fully flourishing. Insight for us and hopefully your customer will keep on top of the watering. Take care and catch you soon. Many thanks for keeping us informed 👍👍👍
Thank you very much 😊..hopefully the other plants will grow and fill the gaps..( or I nay persuade him to add a few more) either way should look better next visit 👍
I have learned over the years who is a "plant person" and who is not. I grow a lot of tropical plants, which as you might guess, living in the Southeastern US like I do, you almost have to work to kill them. Boy can some people work hard to kill easy-care plants in pots that I give them. I know we get 60 inches of rain a year on the Gulf Coast, but you HAVE to water plant pots all the time. It's not in the ground. I know how you feel about the customer not getting the results and the joy they could get if they just followed your simple instructions. I'm giving plants as gifts, but it's sad when I drive by their house and see what could've easily been a beautiful dracaena or the like crisped up like paper in a fire.
@@AmraphelofShinar all the above 👍👍🙏
good pot weather yesterday 🌨️👍
@thegeordiefellwalker8878 😅😅 you're not wrong ...and today I think ☔️ ( ill be moaning he's let them drown🙈)
That would break my heart too Your looking years younger without that beard ❤❤❤❤

Listening to Lee. Also, saw your video about Sun safety. We have 33 degrees Celsius here for last five days. It's been rough. Watching from West coast of Canada 👍👍👍
😁#listentolee indeed😝...wow that's hot...too hot to work in 🥵..take care 🤗
Had the same mate with a few lawn renovations which I had suggested waiting until autumn to complete. Despite my advice and further advice to water it 3/4 times a day (which was accepted by the client) and upon returning, it had clearly not been watered enough. Even more annoying, one suggested they may have watered it too much and the seed had slipped, yet no visibility of this.... My suspicions are that once the seed begins to germinate, the client does not keep up with the watering in the first few days, the tap root dies and the grass plants perish and shrivel to nothing leaving almost no trace. Its frustrating and I get it. Chin up Lee
@benholland3682 yep...most frustrating....it needs the water most when it starts growing 🙈...we are better just banging our head on a wall sometimes 😒
@@LHLgardenservices I bang my head on the wall everyday! Dont you? Maybe I need to do it more? 😅
Yeah'
I hear you, it's extremely frustrating when people don't know what they are doing,
💯👍
It's about pride in our work, that's why it bothers. I would be annoyed, too.

When I read the notification title I thought finally Lees' had enough !! He's rolling up a few 'fattys' and putting on the jungle music out on the patio.

We'll done Lee. Naughty customer.
@@cosworthization 👍😉.. indeed 😥
I know the pain all too well Lee and felt it through the video. I’ve been recommending the water retention gel things to clients and I think they’ve been a big help, particularly when the plants are fresh in. I don’t say it too bluntly, but it helps make up for their watering inadequacies! 😂
Yes, I’m using 2 packets of gel available free from my Water Company!
Cheers john
Yeah I use water retaining crystals in my own garden but I may have to start supplying them to customers..makes sense 👊👌
Send some over here 😉
This is why I only plant Begonias and Geraniums for my customers now, as you know they can be a bit neglected and still cope.
😊👌...think ill use cactus 🌵 😅
Interesting you guys call them tubs and in America they are pots or planters. ❤
@amandaerickson8778 yeah same here...tubs/ pots/ planters 👍
I asked a customer who said she watered all the pots, all 12 of them. She filled up the watering can, actually 2/3rds, and watered all the pots and still had water left in the can. I said it's a can per 2 or 3 pots. "IM ON A WATER METER YOU KNOW". Oh, ok. Then the plants will die. I don't waste my time on skin flints. It's so disappointing the time and effort spent out.
@bobbelsekwol yep!!! I've had that too ....I understand they have a water meter BUT the pots need watering 🙈 ( this guy has a water butt) get them to get one 👍
yep ........... they lie to your face too, to spite your efforts.
@@dimitar4y 😊 couldn't possibly comment 😉
They look great to the untrained eye Lee but thats the root of your problem, no pun intended mate😂. Blue in the face springs to mind all too often. Next time you get paid and go the pub give me a tinkle

@@LHLgardenservices on this occasion i meant it. A few slow ones from the SHAN would remedy all my anxieties🤣🤣.
“All gone to pot”? Thought you were going to show us containers full of waccy baccy plants!
😅😅
Such a shame.... did you take the customer around each pot to show him the indications of "lack of water" that he should look for? just a thought. Stay safe Lee

pots have higher drainage... they're not part of the soil, they're higher than the soil, there's less soil in there, the sides are "Exposed" .......... there's no square meters to soak up rain.
