Looks like a great value, but I'm also leery of that flared/hollow rivet taking the main load on the kit pliers--especially with those cracks along the rivet edge. Of course, you'll only know for sure by using them for some time. For me this would be a cheap way to try out a bunch of plier types--and if my favorite one breaks--then buying the Maun version. The shot of the well-used Maun plier sells it for me. Also--interesting to see how the kit pliers use off-the-rack nuts & bolts, but Maun uses specially designed hardware to be lower profile--the thicker bolt head it obviously designed to handle greater loads--real quality there.

I have used the pliers a lot since I got them, probably a couple of years now. and they have all held up perfectly well. That said, my jewellery making tends to be with wire, so nothing particularly thick or heavy gauge. I have also dipped the handles in rubberised paint (Plastidip), to aid the grip. Dave

great review, very informative :) my only question is what kind of distance can the jaws open to?

. The pliers shown are the 140mm long smooth jaw versions. They open to approximately 10mm wide or 1 cm. You can also get larger 160mm long pliers whose jaws typically open to around 14mm depending on the model. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and for you kind words. Don't forget to give a thumbs up if you found it useful.
      Dave Wilson.

Liked the video. Very informative and helpful. As a student looking for a pair of cheap pliers for AN art project, I think this whole kit is a bit over kill, but great to have seen the review as it taught me about the different types and their use cases
