A more conservative workforce is more than not beneficial when ur a game developer . The big studios suffer bcus they’re big. U can hear developers that worked/working in big studios talk about how even small changes in the coding takes months to happen . Cus they not only hv to follow through with a big team but also go through with the producers cus big studio have lot of investors. Which gives them way too much influence.
This game has been running quite well for me on the PS5 & ive been loving the experience so far. Runs smoothly and the Bosses are frankly ..insane in the membrane lol.. Edit: For the ones accusing me of bullshit..the game runs fine for ME, don't get so riled up about others experience with the game

It looks great on my PS5, I’m only about 4-5 hours in though. It’s way better than I thought it would be. My only frustration so far is some of the hit boxes but there’s no punishment I can see from dying so it’s not that big of a deal.
I didn't like FF7 Rebirth but it was still a way more expansive game than both of these. Though 2024 is a lackluster year. Maybe Metal Gear Solid can be GOTY if they deliver.

I actually started playing cyberpunk on ps5 last weekend because I was bored. It runs great but it crashes at some point every time. Not ofter but it'll crash and close them I put the ps5 in rest mode and watch TV. Black myth so far has been great. No crash at all so far. To me the graphical settings are off or something. On balanced the game seemed almost foggy or something and did not feel like good. On performance it looks the best and has runs perfectly for me. So its awesome
It obviously runs better on PC, but even PC has issues. Input latency on controller seems to be an issue with Frame Generation being enabled. Not one I've had in other games but it's noticeable to the point where I used a separate program to capture my button presses. There were times the game straight up ate my inputs, forcing me to double tap the heal button specifically. Unacceptable given how demanding some of the Chapter 4 and later fights can be. Most of the technical flaws don't show up in any significant manner until mid-late game. I'm sure they plan on fixing these issues but they also said it would be awhile. For now I'd recommend turning FG off completely to and go from there.
i was quite mad at first because my sense of orientation is very bad. I can get lost very easy. But the levels are so nicely done that not even i need the map. And if i can play without a map anyone can.

No judgement. I'm usually not all that sensitive to frame rate. In most console games I choose visuals over FPS and have no issues (GOW, Spider-Man, Horizon). But, in Wukong, 30fps feels like the character is moving under water to me. Maybe it's something in the way the character is animated (had the same issue with Stellar Blade). I've settled for Balanced mode and it's been fine.
I always prefer framerate when it comes to games, but damn the difference between balance and quality is leaps and bounds that for the first time in my life I am opted to ignore framerate.
PC version - plays smoothly on my RTX 2060, Game looks nice in Performance settings, no issues for which I give it credit. Otherwise there is a lot of hype behind the game and personally wouldn't consider it for GOTY due to repetitiveness and lack of variety.
The game is outstanding and surprised me as it's hard to please this veteran gamer but don't be fooled. The PC version at the top end is a different beast. It's great that it runs and plays well on PS5 but on a good PC the visuals are on another level. Full RT -path tracing and ray tracing and the lighting is very special and completely elevates the game. I believe there is no RT at all in the PS5 version? Fidelity at 30 FPS... Never touch this mode in a fast paced combat based game . It's a win for most gamers which is great but if you get a chance to see and play on say a 4090 it's another level in many ways. Even the Pro when released won't come close.
I mean that’s pretty much common sense… Everyone knows a good pc setup is obviously better than console. Most people don’t want to spend that much on a good setup. PS5 performance is good enough and still looks great.

I like how you can kinda pick and choose who to fight when. I fought the Wight and got my ass beat then I went to the fire wolf and won, then used his transformation on the wight. If you’re second boss is the giant wolf, definitely use the fire on him it decimates his health
I've personally been finding the game quite easy so far, I play a lot of soul's games, just the combat feels a bit clunky to me which I'm trying to get used to. Loving the abilities you can unlock though, makes it super fun!
@@SkruffyPretzals Souls games is also clunky but in different ways. Elden Ring is probably the best out of the lot, but FromSoft did a great job on Sekiro which this game is kinda took some ideas from.
Stella Blade, Black Myth Wukong and Space Marine 2. This year games from smaller developers (especially from Asia) that was not Sweet Baby Inc coated are all surprisingly good.
I'm gonna add A44 developers to this list for Flintlock: The Seige of Dawn. Yes SBI was supposedly involved but it's legitimately not a bad game by any means and that's a hill I will die on. It's not on the scale of this game but was still very enjoyable and fun to play and the story and two main characters were actually the best part for me.
Unpopular opinion (I bought the game on ps5) . I expected more visually. I was not particularly impressed. The textures are kinda blurry unless you're playing quality mode . I thought stellar blade ran better and looked better on the ps5 💀💀💀💀💀💀

i put it on performance mode its smoother and still looks the same to my eyes i do sit back a bit but still its awesome. I bought it on steam also to support developers.
Most of the reviews I’ve seen about PlayStation five we’re complaining about underwhelming performance. This makes me wonder if they are being too picky. I’m on the fence whether to buy it for my PC or not as always a tough decision.

I bought it yesterday on the ps5 and am kinda disappointed since it lags so much and has this weird thing on the right which I assume is screen tearing and had to turn off motion blur in order to actually make it bearable
Don't care, game feels horrible at 30fps, 1080p is fine when it's UE5, I bought a PS5 for the improved performance, 4K is only good for lower quality titles
Ill put it this way if you trying to play this game on console you are gonna have to play it on performance mode because any other mode is just gonna frame drop like crazy and for a game that relies on dodging, parrying and timely attacks and spells. Its just gonna be a horrible experience for you especially once you get out of chapter 1. If you have a good pc or better i would suggest getting it on pc because you can actually change settings to customize the graphics to your liking or if you dont care about certain quality of visuals you can turn them super low while keeping everything else in high or mid ranges and you can use dlss which is way better than what the ps5 uses. For example i always turn shadows on low quality when im playing a graphically intense game on my pc because i dont really care how great the shadows look if my graphics card has too much to deal with already. Thats one of the settings ill change to low to help my computer run the game properly.

I don't want to spend hours and hours trying to get past one boss that's always my dilemma with these type of games almost wish they could have a game where you don't actually have to kill the bosses that you could skip it after a certain amount of tries, it's something that people Off gaming is some of the levels in some of the games are so difficult that you just can't get past them and then you've gotta sit on RUclips and watch it. Black Myth Wu Kong is a success because the game developers understand how to make a quality game. It's none of the over promising and under-delivering that we see in modern gaming. No need for in-game purchases, or 50 characters with 6 different genders like in Western games. It's simple really, stick with the theme. A game doesn't need to suit all audiences, eg: boy, girl, young, old, gay, lesbian, Black, Asian, White...list goes on. In fact, FF16 failed because it attempted to try something new, but lost identity in the process. Too many borrowed ideas and the battle was bland. What are you talking about? There r many Games looking better than this version. The last of us part 2 on ps4 pro 30 fps looks better.... Performance mode runs under 1080p and uses framegen. Its oversharped to hell. Qualitymode isnt capped at 30fps so it stutter like hell. Same with balanced mode. LFC VRR also not supported only VRR in performance mode.
Not going to happen. AMD gpus cant do ray tracing like that. This is path tracing too, not just reflections or something lightweight on the hardward. It's fully simulated lighting

If you know the monster setting and background setting in mythological novels, the story is easy to understand, BTW, some specific names in Wukong (it is difficult to translate other languages in the Chinese context) use Mandarin pinyin, so if you can correspond to the characters of the novel, then no problem
No HDR in 2024 triple A game is very bad.... “Dark” areas look grey and orange at best, I don’t understand why HDR is so hard for developers. Game still looks pretty good but it’s so sad when I know the potential if it had any kind of HDR
Hdr for most games donot matters as they donot have high nits monitor and Tvs with good HDR are quite Expensive Secondly hdr calibration is a headache fof game developers I think you got your answer Fpr most people it doesn't matter as it makes picture dull instead of accuracy

I actually really like that they didn’t include a map! Forces a player to really get to know the world!

Unpopular opinion (I bought the game on ps5) . I expected more visually. I was not particularly impressed. The textures are kinda blurry unless you're playing quality mode . I thought stellar blade ran better and looked better on the ps5 💀💀💀💀💀💀
Even PC is rough tbf but patches for both PS5 and PC will fix those issues

Stellar blade does run great in balance mode but it has way more simple backgrounds and areas

i put it on performance mode its smoother and still looks the same to my eyes i do sit back a bit but still its awesome. I bought it on steam also to support developers.
Most of the reviews I’ve seen about PlayStation five we’re complaining about underwhelming performance. This makes me wonder if they are being too picky. I’m on the fence whether to buy it for my PC or not as always a tough decision.
I’m not gonna even lie. The fact that you have to set the game to 1080P just to get 60fps on the PS5 is kind of disappointing to me.
But to get it to run well on a PC you need a 4070 card and good CPU. That is $1000 upgrade I would need.

@@jamaldee2355 30-50+ hours depends on how skilled you are. If you are completionist, it can go on 80-100 as it has multiple endings and support multiple runs.
I bought it yesterday on the ps5 and am kinda disappointed since it lags so much and has this weird thing on the right which I assume is screen tearing and had to turn off motion blur in order to actually make it bearable

If you use frame generation to hit 60 fps the game will feel terrible.
Don't care, game feels horrible at 30fps, 1080p is fine when it's UE5, I bought a PS5 for the improved performance, 4K is only good for lower quality titles
Ill put it this way if you trying to play this game on console you are gonna have to play it on performance mode because any other mode is just gonna frame drop like crazy and for a game that relies on dodging, parrying and timely attacks and spells. Its just gonna be a horrible experience for you especially once you get out of chapter 1.
If you have a good pc or better i would suggest getting it on pc because you can actually change settings to customize the graphics to your liking or if you dont care about certain quality of visuals you can turn them super low while keeping everything else in high or mid ranges and you can use dlss which is way better than what the ps5 uses. For example i always turn shadows on low quality when im playing a graphically intense game on my pc because i dont really care how great the shadows look if my graphics card has too much to deal with already. Thats one of the settings ill change to low to help my computer run the game properly.

Are there difficulty settings in the game? I'm an older gamer 54 and I don't play things on super hard. What are the lower to medium levels like in the game? I don't want to spend hours and hours trying to get past one boss that's always my dilemma with these type of games almost wish they could have a game where you don't actually have to kill the bosses that you could skip it after a certain amount of tries, it's something that people Off gaming is some of the levels in some of the games are so difficult that you just can't get past them and then you've gotta sit on RUclips and watch it. Black Myth Wu Kong is a success because the game developers understand how to make a quality game.
It's none of the over promising and under-delivering that we see in modern gaming.
No need for in-game purchases, or 50 characters with 6 different genders like in Western games.

Performance mode runs under 1080p and uses framegen. Its oversharped to hell.
Qualitymode isnt capped at 30fps so it stutter like hell. Same with balanced mode. LFC VRR also not supported only VRR in performance mode.

If you know the monster setting and background setting in mythological novels, the story is easy to understand, BTW, some specific names in Wukong (it is difficult to translate other languages in the Chinese context) use Mandarin pinyin, so if you can correspond to the characters of the novel, then no problem

No HDR in 2024 triple A game is very bad.... “Dark” areas look grey and orange at best, I don’t understand why HDR is so hard for developers. Game still looks pretty good but it’s so sad when I know the potential if it had any kind of HDR

Why is it, that no one ever mentions the fact that it’s entirely in Chinese, with no way to change it!? Game Science failed to mention it probably because they wouldn’t have sold so many copies. They could’ve at least put in English subtitles! (Referring to the North American PS5 Digital Deluxe version)
