They are speaking like the persons they are presenting. President Niinistö and the PM Stubb which just started as an president after Niinistö. People laugh because actor presenting Niinistö speaks very well like Niinistö, strong South-Western Finland dialect..

It's crazy how this could have been done 2024. Only Nato would be difference and little difference in roles ex President Niinisto and new President Stubb

They a mentioned cheese in that satire. That was because when borders was normaly open Russians tried to smugle Finnish cheese out of Finland inside their car panels and spare tires. It was common thing because of custom limitations.

As some already pointed out, why the audience is cracking up with the Finnish President's impression, is that the imitation is so accurate and the particular word choices and idioms in Finnish that he is using, which sadly are completely lost in translation.
TL;DR; The sketch leans heavily on the lawyer (Niinistö) vs. start up company's hype man (Stubb) speech styles
The main point of the skit is the dichotomy of talking styles between Alexander Stubb (then prime minister, current President as of 2024) and Sauli Niinistö (a former lawyer and minister of State finance) a 2 term President who was so popular, people were trying to beg him to stay as the President on special permission for a 3rd term, which he was adamantly opposed to.
Stubb is super ADHD fake-hip and US worshipping (especially at the time) "youngster" who tries to use more contemporary "hip/trending" words and idioms, while Niinistö is super calm, to the point and reserved. He uses very old fashioned, dignified and refined style of speech in comparison to Stubb
I would highly recommend a much older video on the same topic as well, *Spede Show - Ilmatilanloukkaus / Airspace violation [ENG SUB].* It is from Finland's most famous comedians of all time (sadly all have already passed away) Vesa-Matti Loiri, Spede Pasanen and Simo Salminen

Well, Putin I think nowadays has no ability to show in the remastered sixpack in a fight with a papertiger. Instead, he desperately shouts out nuclear threats, stucked as he is in his golden era "abroad" in the 1970's East Berlin. Moin!

Oh no, more terrible translations. I had enough around the 5 minute mark when I saw something translated as "insults" even though in this context it obviously means "violations" or "transgressions"

Cai-Göran Alexander Stubb is our new president. The one parodied in the blue suite in this. First president in the Finnish history that can actually speak to someone in another country by using another language. He speaks Finnish, English, Swedish, German and French.

Putin was only spot on, Niinistö has been our backbone president at these divided times, this sketch is rubbish finnish comedy series that should not get any kind of recognition.
