Is the audio distorted and grainy like in other videos? Whats going on with recording channel/encoding?

'Distorted' is an emotive word; yes, it's 'distorted' in that it has been altered, first by the microphone and mic amp, then by the compressor, then by the A/D converter, then by the video editing process, then by processing in the RUclips transmission system, so like all other videos it could be said to be 'distorted', but is it clean and interesting and does not make you reach for the volume control to hear it? My purpose in designing the 588 was to come up with a compressor that is simple and quick to use, is not expensive and improves clarity. In the video the compressor is used quite hard, mainly so that the dynamic effects can be heard.... and I hope appreciated.

@@tedfletcher7334 I understand your points and appreciate your work. Also would love to get my hands on affordable stereo version. But am I the only that hear too much clipping (dostortion) in your recordings? Or is the clarity that zooms in the sound of it?

Nearly all of Ted's videos are thin scratchy and fizzy sounding - I suspect it's something to do with his room and recording techniques rather than his gear, which is excellent.
