The fact you kept going and refused to quit, and THEN did it AGIAIN on your own time? That's really awesome. As someone that can't do something like this, it's really inspired me to get back on my bike and do what I can at home. Thanks for sharing this with us Sam.

So much value in this video! Biking long distances is truly difficult. Admitting defeat is truly difficult. Attempting the same distance with an even longer time is truly difficult. Owning up to all of this, in such a public, way, makes this the best video I've seen in a very long time. Thanks for your honesty!! ❤

Completely unrelated but I have been applying to jobs for the past couple of weeks with no good response, I have been feeling extremely low, wishing I could give up. But I know I can't afford to. Love the story arc. It's important to know when to blame your choice of fuel vs. tools. As a hybrid rider, older and less fit riders on expensive ultra-light road bikes easily glide past me. Hybrids "get the job done" but are not built for speed or distance. It would be cool to see Sam attempt the donut challenge on a "real" bike.

Mad props, people really underestimate the pain of cramping on bikes. For me, they start around mile 25-30 and my wall is around 50 miles. After that point, the cramps make it too painful to pedal. But it gets easier with practice and weather! Also you constantly want to keep hydrated

Get some clip-in shoes and a road bike and I bet you'd shave a good bit of time off the ride. Great job hangin in there til the end. Bonking on a bike is no fun.
