Not to be mean but John Williams being brilliant is severely underrated of a statement in my opinion because there is really no words to describe how musically talented this guy is and he still does it at I think like 80 years old which is beyond brilliant he probably can retire easily but he stays dedicated to his music and that’s something I really respect more then anything that’s commitment to your fans and your job at it’s finest

Luke, though in a dark turn of events, was able to get his wish of leaving behind his same boring life for something new and exciting, but for most of us, we’re stuck feeling like he did gazing upon the suns. There’s no princess to rescue, no Death Star for us to blow up, nothing like that. We’re stuck here on our Tatooine, for basically ever.
All we have is our Binary Sunsets on our Tatooine.

Funny story, when A New Hope came out, I had gone to the cinema to see it, but we were late, even then our timing was perfect, as Luke stood on the dunes of Tatooine, the red suns blazing above, and Binary Sunset played, I was sold then and there

That one will be composed by the remarkable Alexandre Desplat: composer of Deathly Hallows pt. 1 & 2, Tree of Life, etc. I have high hopes for him and his composition... Williams WILL indeed continue to compose for the MAIN trilogy, with Ep. VIII making the kessle-run in less than 14 (erm, excuse me.. "12") parcecs Spring of 2017.. Cant we just speed up time, and teleport off this rock already ?!

That's the sign of music doing it's job well. Audio, I'd argue is among the senses closest connected to a person's emotions, so any music piece worth it's salt should be able to ellicit an emotional response from the listener. Usually that chill comes when your mind becomes stimulated, but lacks a physical outlet. Something epic, inspiring and moving that wants you to just stand up and release your passion, but when you don't let it, it just sends an anxious surge through your body. Doesn't happen much with me, because I usually let the flow of the music take me, as my arms begin conduncting it.
Simply put, a pristine orchestra under the control of a genius composer will yield the most powerful music

Nekomancer1983 both of which, along with the Jaws theme somebody mentioned above, were also composed by John Williams. The man has composed some of the most iconic movie soundtracks of all time; close encounters and ET are up there too, and for younger audiences, the original score for Harry Potter.

The fact that Episode IX will going to be the last time I heard this theme in the Cinema truly makes this really a hopeful yet sad theme overall... The melody itself already brings back tears.

For some reason, I feel like the new episodes are going to suck more than the prequels. Really, they should stop adding episodes to Star Wars. The story started when Luke Skywalker was born, and ended when Darth Vader died, stop adding other episodes and disappointing fans...

I'm not star wars fan, but everytime i hear this theme my emotions go so high and my eyes start watering. I want to not tear, but i can't control it. John Williams wrote a masterpiece indeed.
Watch the classic trilogy at least. It's not possible to dislike it.
That’s definitely respectable I personally love Star Wars but I can relate with loving other popular music without watching it for example I have never watched any superhero movies but I love the pieces Hans Zimmerman wrote for the Superman movies

It's amazing how a great piece of music can accompany a film so well. This week I've watched all the movies (tomorrow I'm going to see the episode VII in the cinema), and I've just seen the episode VI like three hours ago, now I am listening to this and I want to see all the movies again, that proves that the soundtrack is a very important thing on a film. It's something similar to what happens with LOTR, for me. Every time I hear those compositions I want to read the books or watch the movies. It's incredible how the music can capture the essence of a film.

Lotr and Star Wars for me have the best soundtrack out of any film. For me they play a big part in why the movies are so loved, because once you hear some of the soundtrack, you want to watch the movies or listen to more
