    As a Norwegian, here is a little update on speeding fines in Norway. They have gotten way more expensive, about 50% more for each *category*

      Yes it is a goverment robbery of peoples as we can se in Norway the fines don't stand to the wrong you have done it is insane it is pure wrong in my eyes! Only to speed 5 km/h over the speed limit it cost 150 US dollars that is insane how easy is it not to have 5 km/h to much? and it dosent matter really for any safety. But 10 or more then we talk even that is insane expensive about 300-370 dollars as pr may 2024.
      Drive on red light 600 dollars and remember in Norway you are not aloved to drive to the right if it is a red light either as in some countrys that is aloved!

    I had a year working in Norway and it was definitely my happy time! Expensive, yes but very friendly people and beautiful scenery. Definitely on my list for the bike.

    Great summary and totally agree, Norway is motorcycle nirvana! Went June/July 23 weather was awesome. High 20’s only one day of rain. Even the ‘bad’ roads are great.

    Other than the crash bars, exactly the same GS! Mine has 130000km's, maybe a little tired for such a fantastic journey. Great video. Ride safe from 🇨🇦 !

    Hi, I’m heading to Norway this July, taking the month for a return trip from Belgium. I’ll stay in hotels, B&B, cabins. Is it necessary to book all in advance or can I ‘book as I go’?

    • @roadadventure1272
      @roadadventure1272  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi Paul! You should be good, but of course, there is a risk as there is a high season then.
      If traveling without a tent, I would try to book them at least a day or two in advance to modify the plan if needed.

    I would like to travel to Norway all the way from Greece but I have a problem I can afford only october time to do that? Has anyone experience in October how is the weather and is it possible to do that

      Im afraid its to late for motorcycles, but still good for a car trip

      In October you can expect snow even in the lowlands. But in a lucky year it is a good month in Norway, clear days, fall season and crisp air. Frost to be expected at night.

    I am planning to go to Norway on my motorbike this summer. Just have a question if we don't need to register Autopass, then how do we pay for the ferries in Norway.

    • @roadadventure1272
      @roadadventure1272  Год назад +1

      There will be someone on a ferry, typing the moto plate number into the system, some ferries are free for moto, but for those which are not you should get a bill by mail. Still, I haven't received any bill, and autopass confirmed that I don't have any outstanding payments

      @@roadadventure1272 Thank you so much for your reply! I wonder if it is possible to get it done online because I'll sell my bike right after I come back from Norway and move out from my residential, I am afraid that I can't get the physical mail because I am no longer here. Thank you again for your help!

    • @roadadventure1272

      @@Yao-YuLin no problem, just write autopass when you are back, that should tell you if u need to pay anything;)

    Just let me reinforce one of your points:
    - take a potent chill pill before you get on the road and try to remember how your grandmother drives.
    Norway could be a motorcycling Mecca if they weren't obsessed with speed limits. The police is vigilant and the common people play along with those unacceptable limits.
    I have no wish to ever return by road.

    • @norseman5041
      @norseman5041 22 дня назад

      If the speed limits are unacceptable, Norway is not for you. You better go somewhere else, if you speed, they will get you. Either by mobile police enforcement or cameras. This country is governed by a lot of laws to keep people in check, personally I don't like it and whenever I visit Norway (my home country) I feel a bit struck by KGB style of policing and big brother is always watching. No wonder the entire nation is drunk in the weekends. LOL

    • @miguelgoncalves6563
      @miguelgoncalves6563 22 дня назад

      @@norseman5041 Yes, that's what I felt -- KGB -- although an awful lot nicer. I just wish I knew it before going. I'm from the south of Europe where speed limits are a suggestion and it's difficult to get a ticket if you pay attention to Waze, so, it's not an exaggeration to say it was a culture shock. I dreamt of canyon carving and got canyon snailling...
