    Great idea and thanks for the tutorial! But I will be sewing EVERYTHING instead of gluing.
    Also I plan to use this as an insert for larger bags instead of a standalone bag.

    I can't believe you glued the important parts after all the beautiful sewing.

    Love your technique and that you do not feel the, too frequent need, to drone on with step-by-step commentary. Your work shines by itself. Very efficient cutting and construction. Agree with the no glue gun haters. They could have been nicer, but the glue cheapens all of your incredible design. I think getting rid of a few earlier seams will allow final construction on home sewing machine for most of us medium level sewers. I am going to try. Thanks for lovely demo.

    How long is that glue gonna hold all the stuff I'm gonna want to carry around in a craft organiser bag?
    Thank you for taking the time to make this video for us i like your idea a great deal!

    Here's a thought. Be graceful with your comments instead of playing armchair critic. If you don't like using a glue gun for projects like this.. don't. But don't criticize her choice to use one. She gave you a wonderful idea complete with a tutorial as an inspiration! If you want to sew yours.. all the power to you. I loved the video but was more than a little disgusted once I reached the comment section. To the creator of this video.. thank you for a wonderful video and the inspiration, along with instructions! on how to make one of these incredibly useful bags! I don't care if you glued it. To each their own. I promise this is on my very soon to make list of projects. Probably several of them since I can see this being one of the most wonderful little organizing bags ever. You're brilliant!

    All that sewing and then BAM let's hot glue all the final parts together. Also wouldn't it make more sense to pin the netting to one of the correct sides at 4:32 before sewing at 4:50 to prevent the raw edges created by sewing it on after?

  • @zoeemiko8149
    @zoeemiko8149 5 лет назад +5

    To everyone commenting on her using a glue gun. Just stop being so rude and ungrateful already! She gives you all the measurements to make your pattern pieces.. shows you the assemble. .Shares her absolutely fantastic designs.. and yet far to many can only sit and play utterly useless armchair critic. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Glue it, sew it.. it doesn't matter! This is a video to inspire you to make your own.. your own way! So yeah, get off your high horses and show a little appreciation. I love these videos and have made many of the bags .. and they've totally enriched my life! To the person behind DIY crafts TV.. thank you so SO much for the wonderful ideas, patterns and inspiration! You've more than a little genius going on in that head of yours.

    • @susansmith5876
      @susansmith5876 5 лет назад +6

      Miriam Felton Well I get the idea behind the hot glue specially on the corners because her small machine won’t be able to go through that thickness without breaking a needle or ruining the machine, the handles I probably would’ve done maybe a button there instead and therefore you could sew through all of the thicknesses by hand I think that would give it more strength but all in all it’s a cute bag nice idea good job girl

    • @LadyWinter13
      @LadyWinter13 5 лет назад +5

      @@susansmith5876 I use a machine very similar to hers and have sewn jean, gabardine, a wool-like fabric and several other thick fabrics; simple, double and even triple layers. Most of the modern home sewing machines we use today come prepared to sew anything, even quilts. She just needs to use the right needle.

  • @yupyup1562

    Other than the hot glue, it is a very nice end result. I will make something similar but without the glue to give more strength. Glue isn't that strong and seeing it at the handle area when lifting the bag took away from the lovely effect everywhere else.

    Great idea but I'll probably flip the pocket items to the inside. I hate having things show what I got in my purse from the outside. I also don't mind the gluing for some areas I'd probably go back over some of it with a bit of stitching but this is a quick and simple method to finish off the work.

    Para las y los que critican que lo pega con silicon, lo que ella quiere mostrar es una de las miles ideas de como lo podemos hacer, el resto va bajo nuestro criterio de que queremos usar, si pegarlo o coserlo, cuando utilizas elementos rígidos para que las estructuras queden consistentes y duras es imposible cocerlas así que toca pagarlas.

    Again with the glue gun? Again on a seam that requires strength to stay together? I think you need to forget that you own a glue gun. This otherwise cute purse insert is only going to survive a short while before the glued seams give out.

    • @zoeemiko8149
      @zoeemiko8149 5 лет назад

      Have you tried making this using a glue gun before criticizing or are you just playing armchair critic?

    • @kimfillmore991
      @kimfillmore991 5 лет назад +4

      @@zoeemiko8149 I make every attempt to never "play armchair critic". As a matter of fact, I taught myself to sew when I was 9 years old. I have over 55 years of sewing experience (and crafting, so yes I've used a sewing machine and glue gun on hundreds, if not thousands, of projects). I can easily say, there's likely almost nothing I haven't sewn with huge success. I have also spent more than 10 years teaching sewing and computer embroidery for a major sewing machine manufacturer and am considered very much an expert on this subject. So yes...I speak from plenty of experience and have made all these same mistakes. I know for a fact that a strap glued to a handbag will NOT stay on for very long, if at all, and that glued seams on stress points simply won't hold...something that is going to frustrate beginners if they attempt this project only for it to fail. This same person, while coming up with some really cute ideas, needs to take the steps that all of us who have commented about the glue gun have taken and learn when/where gluing might actually work. Clearly, this person knows at least the basics of sewing, so, as others have also pointed out, sewing the entire project would have been the better way to go. I've spent all these years learning from others, experimenting (succeeding and failing) on my own, taking/teaching classes and have appreciated every bit of guidance I've ever received and am always willing to share my expertise. Trust me, I've made some pretty bone-headed moves myself in my early sewing years and still, to this day, occasionally experience a failure...that I always learn from.
