Balance, Or well said and love songs
My favorite piece of music is Violin Partita №2 in D minor; Passacagalia & Fugue in C minor is my second favorite piece.
Love your vids 💚💚💚💚💚🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Generalised, I like music with strong emotion, like sadness or joy. My favourite song is Mr. Blue Sky by ELO and I don't really have a favourite musical genre. Classical is nice though
Anyone here a fan of Yiruma's piano pieces? :P
Music is my escape. Life would be very depressing without it

There seems to be a positive relationship between introversion and love for music. What are your thoughts?

Same!
@@Psych2go I think it has to do something with our alone-time, because when I'm alone I listen to a lot of music. Music helps me calm down whenever I feel anxious or frustrated. It also helped me sleep.
I'm introverted too, i like to listen to instrumental music and old music like 90s, 80s and 70s the most.
Make a video about what your music says about your personality
Yasss
this seems like it would be more pseudoscience than the Myers-Briggs test, and that’s already pseudoscience

Thats a good idea
*Who else listens to music like 20 hours a day?*
I even listen to it in my ears before I fall asleep. When I wake up its still on. 😂

Count me in on this. I can't sleep when it's eerily silent, so I put on music to give some sort of white noise.

I would really like a video about the connection between musicgenres and the personality. That's a really interesting topic
Lukas S. Fr fr fr 🤔
I personally think the connection is a bit overrated.
I like rock, alternative rock, garage rock, country, pop, k-pop, techno, acoustic, lofi etc, I just listen different genres for different moods, but just because I say I like these things doesn't mean anything in particular.
I listen to P!atd, Fall out boy, twenty one pilots, MCR, Cosmo Sheldrake, Crywank etc, but that doesn't mean I'm emo or depressed or anything like that, but people who don't know these bands assume anyway.
It's just music, and sure the message you overly favor to hear in songs says a lot about your character, but you shouldn't put too much accent to it.
[PS. Sorry if this seems like a rant~ it's not]
@@LoreCatan It's not a rant, and I'm like that too. I listen to all different types of music and I don't have a favorite I just think it's almost impossible to describe the exact personality of someone who loves multiple or almost all types of music. It's like a mixture of all personalities really, at least that's how I see it. And the listening to emo bands makes you an emo or depressed is just a stereotype and not true at all, but people who are dealing with depression look to that kind of music for relaxation more than any other kind. I know this from experience...
@@scwillems1616 Amen to that, thank for describing exactly what I wanted to express better than me
@@LoreCatan Lol, no problem
I don't know what I would do without music
Do you want to make music?
@@Psych2go I appreciate people who make music a lot, because it's no easy task. I just love how music lets you express and feel such a multitude of emotions in such a wide variety of situations. It sure is wonderful :)
If it was me, I'd prolly be dead
I'm interested about how musical preferences can be used to determine one's personality.
Coming up soon if this video takes off!

Who here is a musician? Music is definitely my escape from life. When I sing or play my instruments, I feel happy and free 😄
I'm kinda a musician! I always use music as an escape and I make and write my own music and I had lots of people tell me my songs calm them
I'm a musician too but I don't like the fact that *Haters* In all Internet keeps on hating my vids! Bruh!
Yup, ive become so uppsessed that ive played six instruments
Its not a brag, its literally all i do-_-
I play trombone in an orchestra and I’m a metal musician the rest of the time. Life would be absolute chaos without music. It’s my calm. Whether it be Canon in D or Lorna Shore, nothing makes me feel better than music.
I can play the harmonica okay, and I like to do karaoke...I'm by no means a pro, but I haven't emptied a bar yet...😏
I may use this for my psychology essays in the near future
Go for it!
Me too
As someone with a degree in Psychology and Biology, I would be extremely cautious in using any of this video for academics.
@@JJJRRRJJJ why? I took a lot of my points from this video and now I’m scared
Music is my life. I couldn't imagine living without it. Music makes me sing, dance, jump, cry, smile and a lot other things. I pretty much listen to a lot of stuff, from rock to opera and from jazz to movie soundtracks.
*Music is the easiest and cheapest way to alter your state of mind en get those yummy chemicals you need to stay positive.*
As long as it’s not rapper with Lil in its name.
Or crap from Ed Sheeran.
Hey, Ed Sheeran is cool. No need to hate so much
Yes! 😂😂
Clint black did a song. A Melody can bring back a memory, take you to another place and time; and even change your state of mind. As for staying positive I would have to disagree with you there. Some people listen to music to wallow in sadness. Partly because the music says what is in the deepest part of their soul, and partly it is the memories and emotions that get invoked even when listening to what others perceive as a happy song; even though it cuts like a knife. Then some have songs that they like ,but will never listen to, because it hurts so much. Mine was "someone else's star" by Bryan white.
But a rapper with LIN in their name. That's some good shit.
I actually dont have dreams when I sleep. Just a black empty void which scares me..
Mee too. Well, mostly, sometimes I have nightmares
You have dreams, you just don't remember it.
Same I rarely have dreams but I'm used to it lmao
Just like Kristin said, you have dreams (we all do). Just don't remember them.
@@friendlyfamilydisappointme4675 Thank you for clearing that up for me, when I go to sleep it mostly feels like I fall asleep then immediately wake up for the day, very rarely will I remember my dreams.
I listen to totally opposite genres. Sometimes ballad and sometimes hiphop. Because all what matters to me is the lyrics
For me,, Vibe matters
yes
@@Uloveeverglow butsmh for me, I have two opposite sides to my personality which is why it happens
It's the opposite for me, a song should sound good, the lyrics come in second
So I'm curious, have you ever listened to good lyrics with an unfitting genre or just a bad song structure.. ever?
Let's see how many people heard music in dreams. I did
I did, too, although I didn't remember the song after waking up
I hav3
I did, I don't know remember the song though.
I did a few nights back and woke up with a song I hadn't heard in a while stuck in my head it was interesting.
My dreams are too vague so when it happened it was more like I knew there was music, not like I could actually hear it.
I listen to all kind of music, so it's hard to say what is my favorite song. I think my music taste tells how I'm open minded to new things and how flexible I am with things in my life. I know that some of those things are because of I'm afreid of letting people down or doing something wrong so I ready to changes.
But I do think that everytype of music has atleast one good song.
That's pretty much how I see people and world. Everything has some way good in it, atleast for someone.

“Hearing music in your dreams is very rare.”
Me who literally sings my favourite song in my dream. It actually helped me master a song I fell in love with.
If you take away music from from my life, there'll be nothing left.
- *Min Yoongi*
Thank you for not shaming people who listen to unhappy music! Everyone talks about how it causes depression, but personally, I turn to it when I’m down, and I think it helps
Favorite song:
Gojira-Global Warming. It’s a beautiful track that some could never see the power and love it emits because the genre is Metal. It talks about mankind taking life for granted, letting go of hate, and believing in yourself.
I always hear music in my dreams and I listen to a lot of music and also play an instrument.
I've had quite a few musical dreams. Sometimes I'm singing myself, other times I'm listening to others or attending a concert. It's always been specific songs or groups I know. The dreams have always been beautiful. I have no musical talent whatsoever, but I couldn't imagine life without my favourite tunes.
Music has been a big part of my life since I was little. One day my parents played Michael Jackson's album "Dangerous" when I was somewhere around 3 or 4 years old and I was amazed. I started dancing and singing along. With 9 years my mother bought me a piano and established lessons for me. From then on I became a musician, joining the youth choire of my local church, aiming for a study in music, which unfortunately failed. But it never let me loose my interest in music. I enjoyed listening to hard rock and heavy metal and usually non-mainstream music styles, because I think music can contain so much more than an impressive singer. And for about two years I founded my own band. Even though we do not chare the same taste, we somehow create our own type of music, which could be described as psychedelic hard rock. Beside my career as a musician I cannot imagine not thinking constantly about music and reflecting on other artist's work, how they manage to write their songs in the way they did. In fact, music shaped my personality a lot.
I never have focused with any sounds in general. It has to be completely quiet for me to be focusing on a science or math problem so I can solve it.
Same! Whenever i’m problem solving i find that noises make me lose my thought process and concentration.
From what I can remember growing up as a kid, I would listen to music people were following at the time. I guess it was to fit in with pop culture society and such, but after being introduced into the realm of classical music through my music teacher in middle school, I feel in love with it immediately! From Bach to Brahms, Chopin to Rachmaninoff, Mahler to Shostakovich, classical music is my only comfortable "go to" genre.
I remember hearing music in quite a few of my dreams actually. Then again, I think its given considering I listen to music 80% of the day and my channel is a lyric video. Also, music helps me cope with anxiety and sensory overload. If I drown the outside noise out with some relaxing music, I can get through the day pretty easily. Without music, I'm much more irritable and prone to anxiety attacks. I always have one earbud in , even in social situations.
Before I was born, I had an intra-ventricular hemorrhage and hydrocephalus that caused me to develop cerebral palsy. My parents played music for me and my brothers when we were babies and it clearly has helped me out so much because I now can't imagine life without music as I love to listen to music, play music on my keyboard, and develop my own songs and singing to songs that I relate to.
My favourite song helped me through a rough time. I was moving and had problems connecting. It spoke to me because of this line 'don't try to put me in a box 'cause I'm doing it my own damn way' I was bullied where I first lived and started over again. It might not be my fav song today, that because I heard it so much. But it for sure is the most impactful song in my life.
I do my chores with music and that makes me focused, and also I get inspirations for my next drawings with music!
Yessss
When you listen to 90s or 80s music all the time 24/7 💀

Music is probably the only addiction that won't ruin your life
Music has completely shaped and altered my life. I got into Megadeth when I was 6 and it set me down the path of the loner for the longest time. I relate to music much better than people because where people generally present a simplified version of themselves, music is multifaceted and complex, it doesn’t insist on being facile and skimming over the surface of life, it delves into the richer, darker recesses of the human experience.
My favourite songs are probably And She Would Darken the Memory by The Twilight Sad and Sunbather by Deafheaven. They both sound like the meeting point of utter joy and complete despair which is an excellent description of the inside of my head
I've woken up singing from dreams, I didn't think hearing music in dreams was uncommon
I'm addicted in the Beatles, and... that's awesome!
Music is life.

My favorite music is musicals. And I now live in a musical from listerning to it 24/7. Like when someone say's a word, it can trigger me into blurting out a whole song from random musical. I love musicals so much, and music in general
Watching this while listening to Mariah Carey's I Still Believe ❤️❤️❤️
Okay. Time to listen to it too Abby :)
Great song choice 👌🏻
It's interesting how music that is loud and agressive can calm certain people even making them happy. For example, if I'm sad or angry I tend to listen to metal and I feel better while that type of chaotic music sounds horrible to most of my friends. While I listen to pop as well It means I'm already happy, pop rarely makes me smile when I'm sad. I wonder if it's a personality thing... I don't consider myself edgy and such, in fact, most people seems to think I'm a nice soft person irl

I can vouch for music and language being interchangeable. I honestly feel like that helped me learn Japanese and Spanish easier. In song, you have that melody you follow. And it's more fun to sing than just say it.

That's so me, thank god I am not alone
Aryan White please transfer to my school I need someone to listen to music with lol
Music for me isn't a way of entertainment, is a way I can forget my problems, dream, relax and I get really angry when someone makes me to turn it off or even stop listening to it
I’m an extrovert and enjoy several genres of music, mainly modern rock (NOT classic rock), pop music, but I’m quite picky with songs from these genres. I also enjoy a genre that I can’t quite explain: it’s relaxing and calm but also upbeat, and without lyrics. These ones are always video game soundtracks (a few examples are Eterna Forest - Pokémon Platinum, Legend of Zelda: BotW Main Theme, and Undertale - Undertale)

On at least two occasions, I have woken up singing songs that pertained to what I was dreaming about. The first time, I had recently changed jobs, and had a dream that the new workplace was rapidly flooding. I saw the water and started singing "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", and woke up singing it. Then just two or three years ago, I was dreaming about a television commercial for the old Hill's department store, and woke up singing their jingle (According to legend, little folk know, Hill's is where the toys are). I also remember dreaming that I was at a local flea market, and "Eyes of the World" was playing over the PA system.

Instant like! Music has always been important to me. Playing drums as long as I have has made a real impact. If a song doesn't have a lot of drums in it, I'll just add some.
I agree. Creativity plays a huge role when making music. I listen to most genres. But there's a lot of music people don't know I like. As a fellow autistic, this was a very interesting fact. All I want now is to try and find a band.
@Tiger X Being also in the autism spectrum, I find music appealing. Iy calms me down when I'm anxious. I can't really play any music instruments but I can sing over a 100 songs (mainly the chorus). I learn them by listening to the song multiple time though. My genre of music is so variable that I can't describe it but I listen more to canadians.
