- Today on Comicbook.com, host Brandon Davis got to sit down with the Director and Producer team of Andy and Barbara Muscietti to talk about their new movie, DC Studios The Flash...and we had a LOT of questions about its ties to the Flashpoint comic...how it resets the DCEU into the DCU, and much, much more!
So just what big elements of The Flashpoint comic series did they adapt for the movie...and what major events or characters from the Flashpoint comics didn't make the cut?
And did Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti know that the Flash movie was going to be the end of the DCEU and a reset into James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU...or did they find out along with the rest of us?

This mushetti guy actually said no one can replace Ezra Miller as the flash 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I beg to differ... There are plenty of actors and to be honest I never liked Miller as the flash from the very beginning. Just overall the wrong actor. Not comic accurate at all in appearance and his persona.

I mean we’ve already got a perfect adaptation in animation flashpoint is literally the most popular and well known flash story ever like he said it would fall flat I’ve seen flashpoint multiple times I don’t need to see it the exact same way AGAIN the only thing I was some what disappointed about was Jeffery Dean Morgan’s Thomas Wayne not being Batman but Michael Keatons return is on the same level if not above that so it isn’t a big deal imo

@@Sully.. Yeah and he totally missed the entire point of flashpoint when he saved his father from prison at the end. Barry learnt nothing by the end of the movie.
Also Barry not getting curious about who killed his mother is so dumb given he went back in time and he absolutely knew how just not forgetting the tomato can would save his mother.... but how. If it was the reverse flash how would his father protect her?

Andy is a genius, and making a superhero movie is very challenging for any director. As a result, I enjoyed seeing The Flash movie, which didn't disappoint anybody as far as i'm concerned.

I felt this movie accomplished what superhero flicks have failed to do in the past: not overcomplicating the story and focusing on characters first. This film also touched on a universal moral of time and how to navigate around it's complexities...
I think that the director Andy Muschietti did well with The Flash movie, he explained to me that not everything must be faithfully adapted to the original material, it does not mean that everything must be a masterpiece or art if it is equal to the comic
They must understand the story and the consequences that make you cry, sympathize if it is worth making a small change causing a total disaster in The Flash movie there it does better
And even though I like the animated movie Flashpoint Paradox, the live action one does better than touch my feelings and it made me cry, reflect and sympathize with the protagonist ❤😮
Andy and the rest of DC be living in denial or the Bizarro Universe. Why get rid of Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot when they are are currently more favourable and marketable than Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa. I know Ben said he's done playing Batman but the other two weren't done playing Superman and Wonder Woman. Warner Brothers design making seems to defy logic in my opinion. An something makes me think James Gunn only kept Ezra and Jason around because they were the only actors from the Justice League who actually bothered to show up to appear in the finale of Peacemaker. Then he held a grudge against the rest.
Andy had nothing to do with them quitting or not being used in fact he brought all the og JL members back in the movie even if they didn’t make the Final Cut and it’s the Snydercut versions not the shitty Josstice League version and James Gunn had nothing to do with the movie except which ending got used to set up the new DCEU he’s said he didn’t wanna use the Keaton or Cavil ending because he didn’t wanna promise something to the fans that was never gonna get fulfilled like what happened with black Adam
James Gunn universe is going to be a whole new thing.

Would totally agree. The main point of this film was heroes turning rogue. Timeline and Multiple reality is different. They merged it and totally fucking ruined the experience of FlashPoint. 😢
You seen the CW version of flashpoint ? That shit was the biggest disappointment ever it lasted 1 episode and was so drastically different I understand changing some stuff but at that point after all they changed it wasn’t flashpoint at all
