I can’t believe you were actually able to obtain one of these and get it here stateside. While most kids dream of owning Ferraris and Lamborghinis, this was “THAT CAR” for me. I went to visit family in Italy when I was 11 and saw a flawless red one parked outside of the restaurant we ate at, it changed my entire outlook on what my dream car really is… congratulations my friend, it’s a timeless piece of craftsmanship.
I wish we got to enjoy these cars here in the U.S. as much as Europe did. My taste is more towards the Sierra but the Escort will do just fine. To me, these are priceless. A great investment you’ve done. Congratulations!
Yeah I prefer the sierra sapphire coswort used to see a lot of cossies years ago they are a rare sight now though the escort cossie was always quiet rare even in europe
So jealous. The Cossie has been my dream car since I was 16 and I first sat in the car at the Glasgow car show back in the 90s. I wish I could have one myself.
Maybe I'm showing my age, but even as a American the Escort RS Cosworth was seen as a "Some day!!!!" type of car. Also after watching Getaway in Stockholm 2 everyone knew what a "Cossie" was in the 2000's, weirdly that disappeared, STI's and EVO's became the thing. Now we can finally import these awesome Fords and no one talks about it.
Congrats, u have made a great purchase 👌 Im an escort cosworth owner myself in Ireland for many years. They are not without their problems and u will find out u will develop a love/hate relationship with it but they are a great car and so tuneable. Best of luck with your new cosworth
So there’s a few pre 1992 escort Cosworths mainly rally cars and pre production cars Ford built the first ones at Ford Motorsport Boreham England and then the production cars were built at Karmann Germany . The 2500 homologated versions are 1992 manufactured as homologation was for the Monte Carlo rally 1993 so had to be built before If you look at build date you will often find 92’s registered in 93 which are still homologation cars which are the best
Lucky bastard... I'm looking into buying one if all goes well. My dreamcar will maybe keep being a dreamcar and I'll go for my Escort RS Turbo - the little brother :) I have one in the garage. Good luck with it!
Hi, I would like to chat about some of the finer details of the import, as I have my eye on one that I want to do the same thing with. The one I am looking at doesn't have a cat and is a stage 3 tune. Not sure if that will be a red flag with customs or not. Thanks!
Actually its 7158 produced. 2500 then another batch of 2500 and later small turbo model 2158 :) Plus 1000 shells for rally with no vin number :) 200 of them are special edition Monte - Martini :)
The Ford Escort Cosworth GrA was one of the most difficult cars to master, you really had to BDSM the controls to get it moving. It looks smooth and slide from outside but the amount of force you had to give the steering, pedals (3 !) and other controls is the same a a bar bell workout. Later they became WRC cars with paddle shifters but still very hard to master..... I had the luck to co-drive one and it was awesome..... alone the noise it made..... A UK friend has some stashed away, a road legal motorsport one, a road legal luxury one and some naked shells..... one day they will be worth a fortune.....
There's no such thing as a road legal luxury model Cosworth, they came in only two different flavours. The early large turbo model and the latter small turbo model, both were pretty much road going rally cars that wouldn't have been made if it wasn't for the homologation rule in Group A rally. Also paddle shifters weren't a thing at that point in WRC, the Cosworth never had a paddle shifter, they all came with a 5 speed manual from the factory although once in the hands of the rally teams they were quickly swapped to sequential boxes.
Just wanted to add that the OZ's where stock on some, like the Monte edition, but were 16" not like the 18" you have which are probably Compomotive TH Classics with OZ stickers. One of the most common wheel mods done to the Ecos. Also they were available in 1992 as well.
Good morning!! A disfrutarlo!!
Two less Escort Cossies from my country, is sad but what can I say, between poorness and people that don't appreciate these things, at least you keep the original plates and that's nice, I hope they are appreciated as they deserve, that we didn't do here in Spain
Scam is when you rip people off. Global backorders, supply issues, or manufacture delays is not a scam. Thats called life. If you have an order and want to cancel it, cancel it. 21 years in business and 85 people employed, the only scam is your lack of understanding about business.
@@adventurewagen and the millions sold each month and 10000s of thousands satisfied would say different. There is not 1000. You are basically trolling. But hey, its thursday and whatelse do you have to do.

Yea this has a late build of 92 but registered as 93 with the big turbo.
Stunning 👌. Instead of referring to it as the ford. It's a cossie 👍👍

I had an XR3i, then a 1992 S2 RST which I tuned and loved!! Now I'm lucky enough to own a gorgeous 1995 Cossie! All great cars.
@@JosephGattOfficial I got myself a Cossie shortly after, had it for a year now. 1994 Imperial Blue 😁👍🏼

We need to see some Ken Block hoonage in the back lot!
We'll try to convince our pro driver to do some hoonage for you.

Buying cars with all that scam money 💰

@@vivid_racing the 1000s of people who have ordered and been ghosted would disagree with this statement.
I’ve ordered parts from Vivid multiple times and never had any problems. I will continue ordering from them.

Congrats man! Can I please send you an email? I have a question about the car. Thanks.
Absolutely not the best Rally car … who writes this shit? 7 world championships in a row say’s a certain Italian car is!!!
Thanks for your view. No take backs.
