    Written Review : www.stevehuffphoto.com/2023/0...
Today I review the Billie MKII Integrated amp from Heaven 11. This is not at all what I expected it to be! This integrated has a built in phono stage, DACs, class a tubed preamp and class D solid state amp that puts out over 200 WPC into 4 ohms. I have had this here in my system for the last couple of weeks and I am ready to talk about it.
    Enjoy.

I like it when you really like a product and shines through your expressions. You light up. I enjoyed the review and I do recall a couple of videos of the first amp that they built which got favorable reviews. So it great to get the latest on the MK2.

I took the punt on the original Billie amp on kickstarter a few years ago, one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is built extremely well, very well designed and sounds great. I too can’t believe it doesn’t get more media coverage as it is something of a bargain in hifi these days. If the new one is better it’s a complete no -brainier. Don’t forget, the volume goes to 11!

Man, I think the Billy, and the speakers with that sexy grill all go great with your home. Would enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a quiet brunette and a weekend in that setting and that system. Sadly the cat has to go (allergies). Great review, I subscribed and look forward to hear more from you.

I’ve had this amp for a few months now with the Buchardt P300s and it’s a nice sound. If I had one complaint was the loudness of it. There’s a few times I want to just turn it up a little louder and it’s already turned up all the way. It’s loud but not loud enough sometimes.

Thanks! I have tried this direct to the PSM156 and without and in my system, due to my power issues, it sounds best into the 156 but it sounded great at the wall as well. This is a dead quiet amp when on (no noises at all from the amp itself).

This is one lovely and sexy looking device you want to buy it just by the looks of it! Thanks for the review. Class D amp are often so underrated! I had very similar experience of your Billie from acquiring a cheap Chinese Class D amp paired with a tube amp that is able to drive my demanding Dynaudio speakers! But the looks of this unit is damn so enticing! Thanks for the review that do some justice with Class D amps that were so unfairly judged oft!

I tried that and didn’t like it. Sucked the bass out. I much prefer a medium damped room and careful placement to tune the system. It’s really not hard when you have an easy room to work with. If my room wasn’t this easy, I’d probably have to use software. My old home/room could have used it. I want for nothing in this room. No issues at all with anything sound related. Thanks.

However, based on your rave about the Buchardt p300’s I have ordered a pair and stands. I’m interested in comparing them with my Vandersteens.

    • @HiFiHuff

Just different. This one has a tube feel, the Kinki does not. The Kinki will have more slam but less delicacy and vocal realism. Different kinds of presentation. If you want richer vocals, a more tube like sound big without any frequency exaggerated the Billie is worth a look indeed. The Billie will also be a little more 3D be the Kinki.

I owned that amp many many years ago. The LM was 105 lbs, put out crazy heat, used very expensive tubes and cost triple of the Billie. Sound wise, the LM is a SET amp so sounds more like a SET. The LM had more bloom and more “magic”. With that said, the Billie has magic as well. I’m listening to it right now! Still haven’t taken it out :)

swap the tubes to vintage if you want a substantial upgrade, my favorites are 50's mullards for the best midrange on earth, brimars and rca's are great and warm. GE's are nice overall with a cool midrange all these are way better than jj's.
