Launch of Discovery on Mission STS-51 | CNN

Launch of the space shuttle Discovery on mission STS-51 to launch a satellite and evaluate tools for a future Hubble Space Telescope repair mission. Liftoff occurred on September 12, 1993.
Shuttlesource is a space shuttle video archive featuring rare and exclusive video from the program’s 30-year history. Relying on private and NASA sourced video, this is a project to restore and digitize this historical treasure for all to enjoy.
With over 1,000 hours of video still to be released, the video archive will offer perspective on every shuttle mission from astronaut training, briefings, mission operations, orbiter preparations and news media coverage as a snapshot in time.
