What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response". It is the tingling sensation that usually starts around your scalp and is followed by spreading to your back and limbs. It is largely used to help relax and sleep.
Matty starting to hit unc status😭🙏
Crazy😭
What is unc
It's short for lazy people that won't just say Uncle... So lazy and braindead the can't just type two more letters @@efaciler2462
Everyone hates you

shoutout to my fellow 96’ kids caught somewhere in between millennial and gen z
I’m 95 and I feel this too we should just have our own name lol
Facts 🙏🏾
That's us, lol. Best of both shit shows
@@MsVideogamerthe term is "Zillenial"
I’ve heard the cutoff for 1996 is if you remember 9/11 you’re a millennial and if you don’t you’re Gen Z
If someone says his eyes are red because of allergies but has a poster of The Chronic on his bedroom wall behind him, don't believe him.
Shoutout to the "gen z" that might as well be millenials XD. Based off the thumbnail alone i already know this is gonna hit me. I have such fond memories of Blockbuster bro. I wish it was still around.
I miss blockbusters. From renting a movie, taking it home watching it several times. Then rush back down because you forgot it needed to go back on said day and hope that you rewind the tape all the way. And make sure its not destroyed.
Ahh... good times
Born in 98 (easter europe) so americas old was our new basicly, so i feel much more millenial
Anyone else feel like this is more asmr ABOUT millennials than asmr FOR millennials? Love your content though, please continue this series!
It’s asmr for millennial nostalgia I believe
This is awesome Lol! I still use the term, “rewind” when talking about “reversing” a movie/show. Blockbuster was awesome 😎. And pogs were a favorite of my siblings and I. So funny because my ipad doesn’t even recognize the word Lol! 😂
ASMR for the Lost Generation would be so cool! 😁
One of my fav videos ever on your channel, so much nostalgia. Please do a Part 2 ❤️
im a 83 baby and this room looked like mine growing up lol
I'm guessing you are an older millennial. I'm a younger one. I did experience all 3 of those, Floppies more for games and less about saving stuff too them. I maybe had 5 POGs. Or it could be something like city vs. rural dynamics or something else? Aol and Aim, I remember more of the concept of them. Yahoo, Neopets and RUclips were probably my first 3 interactions with the internet. Growing up for me: The Sims, Tech Deck dudes, beyblades, Yugioh and furbies were like the bigger fads aside from like the Gameboy and other systems coming out.
OMG I remember those floppies disks. I remember those bigger ones that were soooo flimsy. Both discs you had to be careful around magnets lol. I miss the '90's so much. '86 here.
I miss pogs lol
I collected slammers more than pogs.
1991 baby here and I LOVED this
Born in 84. I miss the arcades that were up at the corner shops and the blockbusters. You'd meet other kids from other schools and circles around the way and it was such a cool time to be a kid/early teenager before cellphones and onlyfans/tiktok bs. So glad I was born back then and not in the 2000s. The 90s were so dope and the music was amazing. Haha, we truly lived and experienced through the best of it.
Idk I don't use OnlyFans or tiktok and I'm born in 2010 but sure
Spoken like a true gen Z, good on ya kid. It's ok if you don't know... 😂
I’m a 2002 dude but I loved this video anyways
Yo I definitely had the 3 1/2 Floppy for my senior portfolio lol And when I was a kid in the 90s we had a Macintosh computer 😂 wow this took me BACK!!!!
I thought millennial gen was 1982 to 1999 but just looked it up he's right 😅🎉
Next you’ll be telling these kids how we had wait for our favorite song to come on and hold the phone up to the speakers to record it for our voicemail message. You did forget the saying from the blockbuster days and that is, “be kind and rewind.” Lol
lol the dial up sound is the opposite of ASMR
Fun Fact: From where I'm from, we call these "POGS" (???) as Tazzos. I had a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh! tazzos and I think I still have some metallic ones stored somewhere here
92 baby
S/o my 95 kids. Overall just millenials 🙏
I'm a Millennial (if you pretend I'm 12 years older).
Wasn’t born in the 90s but still grateful to have been around in the early 2000s era, remember going to blockbuster before they shut it down miss the days. Thought it was so fun when my family said let’s go and we each got to pick out a movie to watch. Walking through the sections filled with movies. Now that blockbuster is a Subway 😢
I’m not a millennial but I’m sure this’ll still make me tingle. Side-note that the chronic poster looks so cool, I can already tell your new albums gonna be the same quality ❤
Nice video Matty maybe next one you might include some shoes i would love to see that😮❤
Born in 1999 so I feel like I’m stuck between millennials and gen z
This is awesome, getting crazy time travel Tuesday vibes that asmr requests used to do.
It would be dope if that was your actual film studio. Vibes are cool. The grenecast on your face gives away the effect but it was pretty convincing at first
Damn I guess I’m not allowed to watch this
Same
Aloud
@@ikilledbrady thanks for the correction
@@Fancyfrog237nah bru allowed is correct cs aloud is hearing or speaking
@@FortniteHouseofHighlights I know I had aloud before than I edited it
Like if your very very very very tingly mwahahhaahhahahahah 🤫🤫🤫🧏🧏🧏💀💀💀
I still got half my pogs collection, no idea where the other half went but I got one of my tubes lol
I’m a gen z but I’m still here 😂
1992 🙋🏻♀️🥺❤️
2000’s baby’s wya
Im an ‘07
Brilliant idea for a video!! Really enjoyed this!!! BIG fan of your ASMR!!! 😍👍🏻
Born in 94. This made me nostalgic and sad at the same time.
Same
Me 3
Im born in 2004, live in Sweden and from the age 8 to 10 all I did was play pog, was so popular in my school!
Born on 2000 just missed it I guess but definitely grew up around a lot of this tho
At 8:22 the early internet was encyclopedias and travel blogs but you forgot to mention midis and moving water reflection gifs
Why did bro change his pfp to that? 😭
I remember the really paper thin floppy anyone else
Pogs was fun different type of slammers
I always remember the cds. I do remember the floppy disk, however. We had a bunch.😊
I would love love love some millennial themed roll plays 😁
im gen z but boy do i love nostolgia even if its not hitting me. I just love when people tlak about their chuldhoods. Great vid man
I took a break from ASMR for a while, but your channel got me back in! One of the only channels I will religiously check for new content, helps me out a ton with my new crazy work schedule.
Bro, your the one thats big and friendly character in a movie or series, you look soo hugable❤❤❤
I'm not a millennial but I do enjoy studying, blockbuster, dial up, floppy disks. I've heard the goofy sound when ur parents pick up the land line while ur on the internet. my mom used to have a VCR and I'd watch a Bugs Bunny compilation of some sort.
Millennial here 🙋♂
Last year of gen z here (it’s honestly so bad being gen z I was raised like a 80-90’s kid even tho I’m 2010 kid my style and music is em 50 cent {kiss(the band)} OH OH OH I LOVE NINTENDO 3DS I also have a Polaroid camera it’s super fun to use at the beach and theme parks
@@Cubamericanintendo 3ds ain’t a millennial thing bud 😭 you ain’t no unc 😭😭
My bad my uncle has it and it’s super fun
Yeah just searched it up it was made the year I was born💀💀
My bad 😅
bro looks like such a wholesome and in general upbeat guy to be around
probably going to sound weird but for the first time ever i got asmr in person while at a suitcase store. i was turning in some broken suitcases to get repaired, and the whole room was quiet, the sound of the clerk typing and shuffling papers and being soft spoken. I was like damn i just got asmr😂
ill always remember plugging in the red/white and yellow cords into the tv to watch vhs
I was using floppy disk for my school work all my up to year 12 in 2006.
I remember when you had to get off the phone for someone to use the internet.
i rented the sims 1 from a video rental store so that inspired me to buy the sims 1 for myself.
Australia had Tazos with looney toon characters on them that we collected and i had a whole folder of plastic sheets to store them.
so many memories so i loved this video
Rember installing windows during the floppy era... Lots and lots of floppys for the full OS 😊 First game i bought as a kid came on floppys to 😃
See being born in 97 i feel like we get screwed sometimes
I remember pulling the little silver tab over on the floppy disk and the computer teacher would always yell at me and tell me I was going to break it. But it just felt so right to do it.
My grandma used to get AOL cds (I don’t remember her getting any floppy’s) in the mail all the time and she hung them up on a string in her backyard because she thought the way the light hit the cds looked pretty. 😂
The Whoopie Goldberg pog is crazy. Haha
Can't wait to see one for my generation even though i wasnt born yet i grew up with vhs and he would always have to remind me to rewind it after watching(i miss family video so much)
"Please be kind and rewind." Those were the days.
Thank you so much for this video.
Really looking forward to this one. Thank you, Matty!
I'm born in 2001 and loved seeing how simple life was. I also loved this video because I got massive tingles lol. Keep up the good work Matty!! 😁
throwback vids are cool🔥 do more
Matty Generations are not an exact science different historians define the generations differently like I go by the Historians who say Generation X is 1965-1981 others say Generation X goes all the way to 1983, I go by this thinking If your born in 1981 your not a millennial because to be Millennials you grew up in at least part of the new Millennium! I was born in 1981 I did not grow up in the new millennium I grew up in the 80s and mostly the 90s I am a Generation X but Alas Matty I digress you made an awesome time capsule historic video thank you so much for a really good video I really enjoyed it and I appreciate the awesome content!
Gen Z here but my old siblings are Millennials so great finding abt there history
cool artifacts unc
Love this! Elder millennials rule lol
I was born in '02, but i loved it, do more!
Blockbuster the original Netflix!
Wait is my great grandpa considered a millennial he was born in 1932 and he still living he’s 92
No he is not, he had to be born by 1981 least. Im gussing you gen alpha
drop the album…!
SOON
This is my kind of ASMR! I miss the 90’s and early 2000’s!
Nicest Blockbuster Clerk RP next? :-D
I never received the AOL floppy disk.....I would get the AOL cd to connect online......btw I wish blockbuster was still around 😢
Definitely need more, but soft spoken!
2000's kid here omg the floppy disc haha
Uncle Matty
I was born in ‘09 and got everything in this vid cause my part of town was like 20 years in the past so I got to experience it aswell ❤
Ahh, I was two years off (not that I wouldn’t know any of these anyway)
great video but I do have something to say fn og is coming back in a squads game mode you should check it out because I like watching you play
This is new love you're videos ❤🎉🎉
We hitting unc status with this one😭😭🗣🗣‼️‼️🔥🔥🐔🩷
Not a millennial but born in 98, so all of these are part of my early memories, the floppy discs with the carmen sandiego game, going to blockbuster to get movies for me and my older siblings, the dial up internet sound 😅
Definitely relate in the same way as well.
That's a hard disc. The floppy disks were bigger, thinner, and were a more flexible plastic. They were actually floppy
Both were generally called floppy discs.
@@MattyTingles now that I think about it, I think you're right. So long ago, I can't remember exactly
Bro I knew blockbuster at 7 man my dad would always take me and my brother it was awesome 😂 ashamed it’s not around anymore
Hey! It’s for meeeee!
This would have been the opportunity to use an old computer mouse with the oldschool ball in it to make sounds with it 😅🙈
And floppy disks are still used today in nuclear missile launch system because they can't be hacked.
I remember one time when i was like 11 (im twenty now) pogs swarmed my school for a couple months
I feel nostalgic after watching this ❤I miss Blockbuster and their slogan "Be kind, please rewind" brings back good memories
I love the idea of this video! 😊
this is highkey a smart idea, trying to reach people from other generations
As someone born in 2001, this is actually awesome because I’m learning things I’ve always wondered about but never looked up
I’m finding that it’s also fascinating seeing the things you have to explain for the generations that are younger than myself like the VHS
96-03 is a whole different generation
Always be cutting out the 04s 💀
Definitely waiting on ASMR for the silent generation, that would go hard
Nice video! My mom loved it!😍keep up the good work!
Love it!!
OMG!! This is awesome! And oddly enough...I LOVED the movie "Howard's End" in the 90's. I had the soundtrack on CASSETTE! I had a weird thing for both Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins. Haha. The Merchant Ivory period films were amazing!
I saw you at that Karaoke bar Tuesday night! Tried to say hi but it was really loud
I was hoping for at Tamagotchi
91' here. We had a Hollywood video next to our house.
