There are a lot of people who think the Bass Guitar is the 4 thick string,That's just a Bass but the real Bass Guitar resembles the voice but has a "muddier" sound.
Thank you Harley Benton for not messing this opportunity up. 4 mods on mine: Hipshot bridge with a locking nut (Inspired by Meshuggah Marten Ibanez model’s concept) Hipshot locking open gear tuners Bare Knuckle Pig90’s It’s easily one of my favorites. I want to buy the Gretsch baritone with a Bigsby. All I’d have to do is put in a roller bridge to compliment it WAY more and take my time again by getting a locking nut properly on with the same tuners as my Benton because I surprisingly really like their pickups that it comes with. In the studio, I think they’ll compliment each other well with guitar and bass tones. Definitely subscribed. Keep it metal. \\m//(-_-)\\m//
30" is a perfectly "standard" baritone scale length. For example, while some companies do not use this length, all Danelectro baritone's are 30" in length, and can easily be restrung as bass VIs. In fact, I've done this with my own!
That was the best musical instruments advertisement I have seen in a long time not joking either. Straight to the point with enough verbal description and visual references for the viewer to understand yet not be overwhelmed by ultra caffeinated hype either. Very nice and look foward to a demo. Don't forget to love the clean sounds on that hot rod.
I mean your a busy person, and hardworking for sure no doubt with it it terms of content, but when will you release the video about this one, this one is posted mid last year😅😂
Pehrpas a stupid question, but what size of pickups are in the VI? I ask because I imagine the spacing between the strings is a bit wider than a regular 6 string.
Gods I can’t wait to get a couple Bass VIs one day. The fact you can kinda manipulate them to fit either bass or guitar parts of a song is *awesome* Wonder if anybody’s ever done a Bass VII…
lol why not make the demo/lesson video first, upload it to your channel, them make a video like this. Then leave the link or something in the comments/description
Started off playing bass “kinda like a guitar” a la Lemmy, Death From Above, Big Business, etc. More recently finally improved my rhythm guitar chops to start playing leads. The VI is the next logical step for me. Just wish there were more options on the market beyond the Squier & Hellcat.
I love it. Aside from the EMG’s I really have never seen much of a point in active pickups, especially on a bass. I don’t have anything against them per se, just not my sound, and to each their own
I just got a bass vi and I'm loving it. Help me with an question though? What's the benefit of the slanted hardtail conversion over the other, straight one? I'm guessing this is to handle lower gauge strings on the lower end? Looking forward to the lesson you mentioned!
Would LOVE to see how the Doomsaw sounds with it. I have a 30inch bass vi and have eyeballing those pedals. Does it sound how i think it will in my head??
I know I'm a bit late on the video, but on the website it offers the hardtail conversion kit in either straight or slanted. Is that just for better intonation of the strings like on a multiscale?
Tuning stability. Stock Bass vi trems, especially the squire classic vibe, can't really handle lower tunings or larger gauge strings. The Bass vi was originally designed in the 60s and hasn't changed much in its form and function. To play doom or extreme music with one would probably require modifications to the trem or a hardtail conversation. There's also personal preference.
Just curious what humbuckers you put in? Like can I just throw any guitar humbucker in or does the string spacing force you to get specific ones? Really interested in converting my vi like this
Parts available at www.obscuramfg.com/shop
didn't joe Perry use something like this on same old song an dance?
I have a bass six. Where do I find how this conversion kit sounds?
Damn can't wait to hear what that monster sounds like!
It's a beast!
Could we get a video of what this sounds like maybe in a mix and what the firecaster sounds like as well man i really want to hear thid
This**
@@DoesItDoom its ben like 3 months man cant you just record you strumming the damn thing or something?
@@Valiant_Thor_03 For real I just want to hear it rip some. He's probably busy as hell, but damn it! haha

Seems to me that a whole lot of folks should be modifying their new Squier VIs, that is why I got one.
>modified
>puts in EMGs
Really want to get one of these. I've always thought it would be perfect for playing doom, sludge and drone metal with.
nice taste
Good for goth and post punk stuff too

That's funny, I just pulled those horrible sounding EMG's out of my Schecter C-VI for passive pickups.
I love the Fender offset trem, but that looks awesome as a hard tail. The pickguard looks great as well.
BTW Fender updated the gauges of their Bass VI Strings & now the gauges are 24, 34, 44, 65, 80, 100.
Still waiting eagerly for that demo.....😂
Let's see a Doom Demo with this Bass 6!!!

what string gauge would u throw on something like this, really light bass strings, or thick as shit guitar stings
They make specific bass vi sets
LaBella makes strings for these. The low E string is .095, the high e is .026.
The buttons on the original give you 12 different pick up arrangements. Does that switch give you that many options?
I mean your a busy person, and hardworking for sure no doubt with it it terms of content, but when will you release the video about this one, this one is posted mid last year😅😂
Lol 30 inch scale length 😂
Pehrpas a stupid question, but what size of pickups are in the VI? I ask because I imagine the spacing between the strings is a bit wider than a regular 6 string.
I want one. But with a thunderbird body and 2 p90s pickups, two knobs and 3-phase switch
Gods I can’t wait to get a couple Bass VIs one day. The fact you can kinda manipulate them to fit either bass or guitar parts of a song is *awesome*
Wonder if anybody’s ever done a Bass VII…
What’s the difference between a 30 inch baritone guitar and a 30 inch bass violin
I have a Squier CV strat.
Bought it in 2015. Good guitars.
I need a shirt scale bass.
Ine day.
Who knew that Saruman played guitar (bass?).

Please say it's tuned to e a d g b e
It is
Love that bass.
this thing dooms... ive never been more certain of anything in my life.
That’s got too doom !!! Is doom ready for it ? That’s the question
Assuming you have to route out the cavity to fit the HB’s….
I would just want the hard tail bridge. That possible?
Yep. www.obscuramfg.com/shop
oof I don't think there's anyone around these parts, that I could trust to change those pickup holes that way 😍💔
Hardtail? 😂
Just stick a bass neck on a tele!
All of which are American dreams.
Nicolas cage the fak are u doing
Wow that is ugly. No thanks.
"Fender Squire"
It's a squire.

harley benton guitarbass
Danelectro/Silvertone have baritone guitars
Flatwound strings btw
*dislike* . Didn't play it.
It's not a baritone
sweats in Loathe 😅
Typically.
I don't get it, why would you want guitar that sounds like a bass sounds like a spinal tap moment to me
Definitely a niche thing
I love it. Aside from the EMG’s

Waiting for that video! I'm thinking this would be badass for Sludge/Stoner/Doom
🙃
Where is the conversion kit? The website only has plates and pickguards.
🤘👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹🤘hej bro co za fantastyczna hitsra perfect super
finally a bass vi doom video coming up here soon the best instrument probably the holy grail for for Doom and drone 🙏🏻
That’s a sick axe!!
I'm diggin it!
That pick guard looks cheap and ugly. Kind of wrecks the entire body.
I would have really loved to hear you say ''typical'' one more time
If it has a trem, why would you want a hard tail?
Tuning stability. Stock Bass vi trems, especially the squire classic vibe, can't really handle lower tunings or larger gauge strings. I'd sure like to hear that unit.... kick down a few chop's!
I play both bass and guitar, i think I'd love this, best of both worlds!
Holy shit wish they had those conversion plates when I had one of these, the trem was always frustrating
I recently put a set of baritone strings on mine and tuned A to A. Would definitely recommend trying it.
Where/how do these sit within a 7 string guitar and a 5 string bass?
Does it have the strangle function in that switch?
savage thank you . i hate the original bridge on mine
That's like a bass 9 string 6 string hybrid
I use mine for bass duties in e std and drop d. Love the extra range. 🤘
What model EMG’s are in that beast?
They have a trem replacement also, cool parts
Intimidating I like it are we going to get the video?
Not a full octave down, can be but only standard tuning with a low B. Like 7 string but more tension and lacking the High E string
Standard tuning IS a full octave down
I'll test it out for a month if you like.
Just curious what humbuckers you put in? Like can I just throw any guitar humbucker in or does the string spacing force you to get specific ones? Really interested in converting my vi like this
It has the same spacing as a Jaguar
any tips on how best to tune it to C Standard?
Any vids playing it?
This might be a dumb question but is there a difference between these Bass VI’s and a 30” baritone ?
Bass six tuners are bored out to fit bigger strings so can tune even lower with more clarity and punch
Nice
Great 🎉
Do they make one in a tele.
I may need one...
Man I want one of these so bad! 😭
Daamnnn
Sick as hell. What gauge strings is on it?
Factory STRINGS: NPS 24-84, Standard E-E tuning
I must say i play guitar,,but that puppy looks sick my man.😊
This is still a guitar.
You're actually taking the coolness out of the instrument and just making a chug machine
Chug machines are cooler than boring trem’d offset
fENdEr SqUieR
Imagine if someone played that thinking it's a normal guitar but it just goes "BBRRENG"
I can't find that conversion kit anywhere....
Me either
www.obscuramfg.com/shop
Nice axe… just need a few brews on a beach and I’d like to hear that baby sing 😂😂 with a few beautiful women of course 😏
Nope... The jag pickups and tremolo are what makes it cool.
Steve has a fender with EMGs now?! 🫡
Not mine lol.
Nice.
Hey can we get a video of what this sounds like
Bass
