    I had a tear in my medial meniscus in my left knee. My orthopedic recommended arthroscopic surgery but recommended I want it see how the knee feels later. So I wore a brace when out and about and my knee started getting better and the swelling slowly went down. Next I started physical therapy for 7 wks. Now I feel no discomfort or pain. My physician gave me the okay to play tennis again and bowl but I’m planning on using a knee brace as a precaution and to take possible strain off my knee during activities. I’m wondering would the Shock Doctor knee brace benefit me while bowling or playing tennis?

    Your videos are so helpful! I'm 66 tore my posterior medial meniscus and sprained my MCL. Have found your exercises so helpful. My PT person totally blew me off when I asked him about a brace. Doctor never suggested it. Had to be proactive and get one myself. I totally was having stability issues. I am a retired nurse. It's too bad providers don't listen to their patients.

    I had issues with my maniscus, wore a brace for a bit and felt great so I stopped wearing it. Went out for a light run and now it hurts to walk. Waiting on a dr appointment but it’s impossible to get seen right now. Any ideas what I might be dealing with?

    As a 66 year old retired cycling nut I was just diagnosed with a lateral meniscus tear and just ordered a knee brace for cycling....I will try that one first then get the shock doctor brace next... I need lots of support when standing on the bike going up hills etc.... It seems most people tear the medial meniscus instead of the lateral.....I wonder which tear will give you the most problems...I currently do not have much pain and still have full motion....I would rather stay away from surgery .....I cycle 4500 miles plus year so will this workout be a long term benefit to my knee issue....thanks Gordy

      Hey Terence! This specific knee brace actually does have a total of 4 hinges within it. So, it is still a hinge brace, but it may actually be more comfortable than many of the other braces.

      Hey, if you google shock doctor knee braces and click on the one you want there should be a "size chart" under where you can pick the color of the brace itself. Then it will show you how to measure and what size it recommends based on the diameter of your leg.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  Год назад +2

      Hi Mireya,👋 A brace can give your knees more stability but we do not recommend increasing the intensity at which you are running if you are feeling instability of the knee. However, you know your body better than anyone so if you feel safe taking it up a notch then do what you feel is good for you. 🧡

    I had knee surgery few years ago... recently my knee feels weak and feels unstable ... i wear my brace when walking up stairs and doing tasks around the house . Havent been using the brace long but realized was wearing it wrong i am now wearing it correctly but now when i put it on right it really hurts my knee ... it's not tight but tight enough for support whats am i doing wrong

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Elephant, it's great to hear that you are giving your knee more support with the brace. Most braces are uncomfortable as they roll down throughout the day, some can pinch, and some hurt later in the day, but they are important to wear when you feel the knee needs more support.
      It's a good idea to purchase a few knee braces from a store with a good return policy. This will allow you to try a few and find the one that offers the best fit for you and return the ones that you don't like.
      We have a knee brace help playlist you might find helpful: “Knee Brace Help”
