My uncle was captured at Kasserine Pass and was a prisoner of war. He NEVER talked about his experiences. Years later he came over to visit one night and Hogan’s Heroes was on. Dad apologized and went to change channels. My uncle stopped him and watched a minute and then began to tell us that they actually had a guard like Schultz. He had been a conscript and really just wanted to go back to his farm. He said they had tried digging tunnels and a few others escape attempts. He left that night with a lighter step after unburdening just that small amount. I was told he made contact again with a few of his old friends over the next year or so. I’m glad something so simple gave him that small amount of peace.
My father wouldn't let me watch Hogan's Heroes. He fought in France and Germany and didn't want me to get the idea that Germans were stupid like Klink and Schultz. Thinking that was dangerous. But, as a bright kid, I managed to get around that without him knowing. That Schultz quote is probably in my top five most repeated quotes. Hilarious. And just fun to say. Try it.
The germans were mostly played by jewish actors, who lost parts of their famiy. The actor who played LeBeau Was The only one of his family who survived auschwitz.

Listening (or trying to listen) to Karine Jean-Pierre TRY to answer questions. I would be less pissed if she would just answer like this each time a question is asked. I have yet to see her answer one single question.

thank you for sharing that, its stories like these that hopefully one day prevent the tragedy of war from rising
That’s really neat. I’m glad he was able to reconcile even a little bit of what he experienced. Thanks for sharing this.
Good story, thanks. I also had family in the military. My brother was of the youngest Coronels in history. My nephew now is in secret services.
Shows how badly these guys need therapy.
Do you know this actor was Jewish , and his entire family died in war camps. Sad. Good actor
The only true wisdom consists of knowing that you know nothing.
-Socrates
Actually the quote is , “all I know is that I know nothing,” Socrates saw that the path of wisdom is the path of seeking truth
I just sent this to my 78 year old German friend for his birthday. :D

So he doesn't want you to underestimate the Germans?

Is it's a conspiracy because it comes from his mouth and not from someone who's too scared to talk
I like John Banner, but I hate how he treated Kim Basinger. She was really in love with him, and he treated her cavalierly.
Schultz gives his impression of Kamala Harris. In any conversation. Well except when it comes to....Well you know, you just won't admit it.

You spelled Trump wrong .it’s T R U M P …
Donald Trump's alter ego.
All the actors playing the main German roles were Jews as was John Banner.
Kind of a belated "Up yours Addie" gesture.
