I just got my Zephyrus in the Silver White and overall first impressions are this is a great laptop. The keyboard is great, the trackpad is nice, and the screen is amazing. When I put on the first video, the sound was amazing.
Great unboxing. I love ASUS laptop gaming series. Differences in prices in US and EU are huge. If I'm not mistaking, you said 2299 USD for the AMD version. In my country (Croatia) it is 3199 EUR on pre-order. Nevertheless, fantastic laptop.
Great unboxing. I wonder when a line of these pcs of a specific model is produced if they run out of a certain brand ssd and want to keep the production line running do they ever put in a different brand of ssd. In other words is it possible that wnen a certain model is produced are they all consistent to have the same brand ssd. Think about it.
No laptops have the Ryzen 9 AI 375 yet, only the 370. The only difference is the NPU performance of 55 TOPS for the 375 vs 50 TOPS for the 370, which is i nsignificant. Everything else should be identical i.e. 890M igpu, core count, clock speed, etc.
@@JoonKimDMD Yup. Maxing out the Asus G16 AMD version with only a 4070 gpu is a missed opportunity. I don't want to have to get the Intel version just to get a 4080 or 4090.
9:05 Just a heads up, the 2nd SSD is limited to PCIE 4.0 x2 (4GB/s). The Intel GU605 G16 doesn't have this limitation. I suspect it's AMD going from supporting 20 (Hawk Point) down to 16 PCIE lanes on the new (Strix Point) chips. 1:49:02 Same situation with the P16 so your real-world speed of 3.5GB/s makes sense with your D: drive as it's a Micron 2400 2TB 2230 PCIE 4.0 rated at 4.5GB/s but slot limited. Main SSD slot it full PCIE 4.0 x4 (8GB/s) on the GA605 and P16 so no limitations there.
@@rmachuca I mean it's nice that you get an extra SSD slot but it is misleading to not let consumers know it's only 4GB/s. It leaves potential for consumers to waste money on expensive SSD's if they don't have all the information, just buy the cheapest Gen 4 drive you find and you're limited by a margin of around 10-20% but it you bought a expensive drive, getting half the performance will suck. (EDIT: GPU = x8, WiFi Card = x2, NVME #1 = x4, NVME #2 = x2, Total PCIE Lanes used = 16) EDIT: It now "kinda" says as much on the product page of the GA605 but it's cut off by the space they left for the text, so I'm only half giving ASUS a pass for it. Copilot found it in Bing AI Summary but a normal consumer won't find it. If you're curious it says: *Due to available lanes, the second SSD slot is limited to PCIE Gen 4x2 speed. (In my region the product page isn't updated it so it's still not known to all customers, only the Global product page.)
i’ll give a chance asus for this one, despite I still don’t like the design of their keyboard. probably will be one of the top of my lists that I will buy to replace my Yoga 6. The purpose is for daily PhD student with a little back and forth dota 2 player. Good initial review as always Mark, still waiting for the battery tests and gaming test. Thanks. _moch.
Andrew hi! Can you please check in a full review if there is still issue with turning on laptop after setting it on silent in a armory crate, plug out charger and turn laptop off? I have that issue on my zephyrus g14 2023 and seems that newer model still didn't fix this :( Only thing that helps is to plug charger first. Thanks
I suspect there is no reason to add an external GPU. Even if you attached a 4090, I doubt you would see an improvement over the internal 4070, due to bandwidth limitations from the port.
I want to love ASUS laptops. But the ultra-glossy screen kills it for me. Your reflection in the screen is crazy. I had an S16 that I was forced to return because I couldn't read text through the glare of my own reflection.
Hey Andrew. I am basically in Apple ecosystem and have old mac now I need get new mac with apple silicon and have to use some windows apps which also run in arm version. So will I be able to run windows and macos with good performance with pro macs?
I appreciate your disclosure at the beginning of each video. I can be assured that your opinion is not being paid for.
Recently bought the RTX 4080 version and I couldnt be happier. With some tinkering I can get decent battery life for average use out of it.
7:00 i respect you much more now dude!

@@andrewmarcdavid Thank you, now it is partially your fault that I have the Asus and the MacBook Pro.
What about temperaturs? It mostly kills laptops. around 100°C ? Od less?

Wish is Asus implemented vapor chamber in all G series! Its already not cheap and having cooler laptop would be great choice for some.

I just wish they had 4080 GPU instead. I can care less about CPU.

This requires more attention, as it is indeed a nasty surprise that is not well communicated by ASUS.

Regarding the Ryzen AI 9, I could bet on that Asus has an exclusive deal with AMD.
Nothing beats Apple in Quality of Product

damn is that the new zenbook s16 youre talking about?
The screen has anti glare built in it's really not bad at all
whats the battery life like?

No LatencyMon testing?
Why Asus does not fix the wobbly screen, it would be the perfect one.
60 hz display on a laptop costing $2000+ in 2024 is an insult. I was using a 1024x768@60 hz display 25 years ago.
I don't understand why they keep putting those stupid ass stickers on. Completely ruins the look.
