In aoe, you always want to flurry the target before comet storm for winters chill. Or you can cast frost nova/ice nova/pet freeze as the comet storm falls for maximum winters chill damage. Make sure you use your freezes it will give you such a big damage boost for comet storm and even glacial spike
So while this is true, the advice is bad. You are significantly better off using all types of your freezes to shatter glacial spike and the tier set burst of it than attempting to shatter all of comet storm. Considering most pulls in higher keys will always have your opener ready, you are already shattering comet storm with the winters chill provided by cone of cold. The rest of freezes should be used for glacial spike.

Good guide! Just to mention, On raid, the balefire branch trinket is better to use it with the frost ray, as you know, the bonus intellect will fall due time so to have better performace, use it before ray of frost. This is an example for raid (Precast Frostbolt>flurry>Icy veins>comet storm>Ice lance>Balefire>Ray of frost)
aoe -=> IV-TW->flurry for shatter (cuz at least one target will get all 100% crit) -> FO -> BZ - > CoZ -> CoC -> FO -> BZ - > CoS ->SP ->(if you have big pack and y aoe ability ready - repeat) -> GS with ice nove (cuz its works like a flurry) - > BZ.

Decurse + Ice Floes is mega on Waycrest Manor, Decurse itself is very useful especially 1st boss (it's nightmarish on Tyrannical at +24 and above), using Icefloes allows you to keep the OG blink, which removes snare effects which basically makes you a GOD for 2nd boss. Also Icefloes is useful when 3rd boss is casting his green slug frontal.

Frostbolt AND flurry have a 30% chances to generate an additionnal icycles from Splintering Cold. So you can get 4 and still have 2 stacks of winters chill on the target.
If you have 5 icicles and flurry, would you not cast frostbolt, flurry, glacial spike, ice lance? Since the frostbolt would also benefit from the winters chill? Or do you just go right to glacial spike?
I'm doing decent on mythic+ (just finished a BRH and did 218k dps (475 ilvl)) but still saw that it parsed only 85% lol I must be doing something wrong. One question that I have is: if I use flurry right before my GS hits the target (will consume a WC), do I ice lance afterwards to use WC on Ice Lance? also, when I don't have 5 Icicles (so no GS) but I use Flurry because I got BF, do I use Ice Lance to consume both WCs or I just Ice Lance once and frostbolt the second WC (supposing I don't have any other skills to use)? thanks!
Ohh that's very big, so here's the catch: If you have 1 WC on target, just use glacial spike and immediately go into Frostbolt, DO NOT use ice lance as that would hit the target before GS and consume the stack. For scenarios where you have 2 WC and no GS/RAY/Comet Storm/Orb... etc you just use them with 2 ice lances and not with frostbolt. 218k is okay for BRH, but this week is Forti + bolstering so adds stay alive for a long time, more dps seems possible at your Ilvl. However, the strength of Frost in M+ comes when tank is brave , focused and can do GIGA pulls ( even though bolster limits the size 😢) and keep adds stacked on Orb/Blizzard so sometimes dps is not always dependant on your skill. Hey great guide! Just a little question, for raid single target what do you think about macroing 1.30 min on-use trinket with Ray of frost instead of with icy veins? Since we have shifting power to make Ray of frost a 45 sec CD and use trinket every 2 rays?

Yeah I think I may go try fire instead XD I’ve been leveling through shadowlands to catch up and play dragon flight and this is kinda ridiculous to do compared to good old brain freeze and fingers of frost management. How do you keep so many active abilities mapped out? I’ve got 1-5, shift 1-5, forward and backward mouse, AND shift and control with the mouse buttons. And still not enough room for everything.

This is only true if you have Belorelos, any other double use combination is bad. You want to align balefire with Icy Veins and then you can use Belorelos for max dmg. However running Belo + Mirror for example would be very terrible!

I used to main mage but I’m returning to the game after a few years of being gone. Lots has changed and it seems like it has gotten more complicated. I’m glad I checked this video, the Icy Veins guide seems outdated.
I’m trying my hardest to do all this as you described but I’m still doing less DPS than the tank. 😅 I’m shocked at how low the DPS is if you’re not doing it perfectly.
Race doesn't matter that much anymore for dps but for survival it does matter for example on bursting weeks dwarf's and dark iron dwarf's can just use their racials and the bursting is gone. What I'm trying to say is play whatever you like, it doesn't matter that much
Not unless you are pushing really high keys or doing mythic raiding. I used to be a void elf (cause of the same reason, it looked cool), but it's racial active was practically useless. I rerolled Dwarf for Crit Passive (a tiny bit more dmg then void elf, not really that important) and the racial (main reason why I rerolled), dwarf racial is OP is raid and Mythic + , removing harmful effects, those self-dispels are crazy good most of the time.
Hello, during your full demonstration of ST rotation, you actually did it incorrectly, even though you described that well during the opener. You didn't use shifting power after orb and you continued with normal rotation, which inherently causes your CDs not to come as you need eventually.
Also you have one little mistake on AOE as well, after you use cone of cold and frozen orb, you will never have blizzard already active (if done properly), and you should always prioritize comet storm right after frozen orb (after cone of cold), sooner you use your comet storm, better due to the fact of having increased dmg.
Great video! Seems the AOE has changed most. I was maybe confused or maybe the new tier changed things for ST. I was usually frost bolt-flurry-ice lance-ray of frost, now it seems you are throwing Comet storm in between flurry and whatever is next. Is that right? Also, I am sure a lot of mages know this but i did not: spec out of shimmer for Waycrest Manor. You can blink out of the thorns on the courtyard boss. Huge time saver for dps.

My frost is ilvl 445, i do like 200k in dummies, but in mythic i do 70k, idk what im doing wrong, i swear im doing the rotation exactly the same but... bruh
@@AtillaPlays1643 now I'm doing like 100k in +13, I usually end up being the 2nd or even the 1st dps, I think is ok but last night I tried a +18 with some friend and it was a nightmare, 60k dps, am currently 454 ilv, for sure I have improve and I think I was struggling with this week mythic affixes, so many things on my screen I end up pressing whatever button. Now I know it was me doing bad. Ty anyways for your help offer, really appreciate it. (Sorry my bad english)

Can you elaborate why GS with ice nova works like a flurry?
It freezes the target and crits the GS. Glacial spike and then ice nova before the spike hits @bkhavityoway23

If you are running mythic plus, run Decurse. Don’t just leave it to healers. Tons of dungeons each tier have curses to decurse.
This is very helpful for Waycrest Manor first boss. We timed a +23 without me talenting it and my healer friend wanted to strangle me at the end :3
People are blown away when they see decurses from me and I think it’s hilarious.

Stay with AOE build for any week, but instead of Chain reaction you may wanna get Ray of Frost for that extra boss dmg.

Its because flurry hast 3 projctiles. So you refresh you WC procs after GS procs one

Flurry has a chance to give 2 icicles. So it’s possible to get 5 quicker.

I think if you're at 2 or 3 icicles, it would be more beneficial to frostbolt > flurry(proc'd) than spend fof procs with no WC.

It is the same rotation, minus the ray of frost. All other rules of thumb are still applicable

Besides the WA that I linked under the description, I just use ''ThreatPlates'' which puts those effects on top of target's HP bar.

I see you use azure set, what about chrono? At least for M+. Those random haste as little time warp looks so sweet...

You can slap on some cheap entchants on Veteran Gear and then when you get Champ/Hero/myth Tracks Gear use the more expensive

Hello, during your full demonstration of ST rotation, you actually did it incorrectly, even though you described that well during the opener. You didn't use shifting power after orb and you continued with normal rotation, which inherently causes your CDs not to come as you need eventually.
Also you have one little mistake on AOE as well, after you use cone of cold and frozen orb, you will never have blizzard already active (if done properly), and you should always prioritize comet storm right after frozen orb (after cone of cold), sooner you use your comet storm, better due to the fact of having increased dmg.
Also third note, you want to prioritize Pet Freeze during Icy Veins over Frost/Ice Nova
Yeah you always shifting power now after orb. We don’t wait for the end of icy veins like we used to.

Great video! Seems the AOE has changed most. I was maybe confused or maybe the new tier changed things for ST. I was usually frost bolt-flurry-ice lance-ray of frost, now it seems you are throwing Comet storm in between flurry and whatever is next. Is that right?
Also, I am sure a lot of mages know this but i did not: spec out of shimmer for Waycrest Manor. You can blink out of the thorns on the courtyard boss. Huge time saver for dps.

It's probably an animation bug, nothing to worry about.
@@AtillaPlays1643 Ye, I wish it was. the elemnental gives you a charge of flurry right away but not mine since it is not attacking. I guess it's an issue with the pet bar... Idk how to fix it but I'll figure it out

My frost is ilvl 445, i do like 200k in dummies, but in mythic i do 70k, idk what im doing wrong, i swear im doing the rotation exactly the same but... bruh
Frost needs big pulls to shine, but if you are doing 70k, something seems wrong, maybe you can show me a run on discord sometime.
@@AtillaPlays1643 now I'm doing like 100k in +13, I usually end up being the 2nd or even the 1st dps, I think is ok but last night I tried a +18 with some friend and it was a nightmare, 60k dps, am currently 454 ilv, for sure I have improve and I think I was struggling with this week mythic affixes, so many things on my screen I end up pressing whatever button. Now I know it was me doing bad. Ty anyways for your help offer, really appreciate it. (Sorry my bad english)
