Bikes scare the life out of me but saying that I can really appreciate the engineering that goes into them and this is no exception, that bike is truly stunning and if I had to have a bike then thats the style I'd go for but with a smaller engine (that has the same size as my Fiat car lol). Enjoy your Summer Rob and a bonus that Clare will be there too.
I think it's more status symbol than anything else, I was offered a test drive on a HD FB but thought nah, Ducati Multistrada V4S, Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro or the old faithful BMW R1250 GSA. So went with the R1250GS in the end.
I can honestly say, the old story of if we have to explain, you will never understand. It has nothing to do with best, most useful, most comfortable, best handling or power. It’s about how it makes you feel. No two are the same and it’s a different trip for each rider. Don’t try to understand, but don’t put down those who do. Enjoy whatever is your thing.
I hired one wilst on holiday seemed a good time to see what all the fuss is about and found myself riding something very unrewarding as a rider they really are all about look and sound really poor basic suspension
Well as a retired biker I can only agree with your sentiments Rob, but always regarded Harleys as tractors !! But you are quite correct the urge to get back on the beasts never goes away. Loved the video though great.
Lovely that you share your personal purchases with us Rob. I know I keep saying it but your enthusiasm for everything in life is infectious m8. I mean I'm not a bike lover but enjoyed the video
Haven't seen a smile that big on your face rob since you bought the lambo !! Well done hope you enjoy the open Rd for the summer. Fantastic different video, throughly enjoyed it . See you in the next one.
As a former HD owner myself, I restored a 1942 WLC 750 back in the 1970s and loved riding it with all its quirkiness, evertime I hear a Harley exhaust burble I get all nostalgic. Well done for treating yourself Rob, great video, stay safe👍👍👍
Never had a bike or been into them but Rob's enthusiasm for that is pretty infectious and watching the video gave a much needed lift on a tricky morning 🙂
Rob/Chris, I'm currently fasting and binge watching your videos, just saw your lambo vid and really made up for ya, Currently on Chris dream video. May god bless you and give you everthing in life lads.
Awwww, I’m so envious. Sold my bike 3 years ago and would love another. Now that’s a lovely piece of kit, just in time for the nice weather. Enjoy Rob but be safe out there.👍👍👍👍👍
I snapped the cam belt on my focus & used my 1200 bandit for work, which I never usually do,so waiting for my car to be repaired, I used my bike for work & it opened the heavens on the way to work & after a 20 mile ride to work I really questioned my sanity & thought why am I doing this in the piddling rain, & the following morning, the weather was absolutely spot on & the ride home was bloomin brilliant, & that’s why i still ride after 47 years 🤘
Good to see bikes on here as well as cars. I've never owned a Harley but out of their models the Sportsters appeal more than the bigger, more touring 'Glides and Road Kings etc.. The XR1200, flat-tracker-ish was OK too and didn't have too much chrome on it. I don't think the XRs were in the range for very long.
Very nice indeed Rob, I very nearly bought a 883 sportster back in 2007 after I got a spin on a work colleagues bike but the one I was looking at got sold before I’d decided I definitely wanted it so I’ve just stuck with Suzuki’s ever since . Health to enjoy many happy miles on it Rob 🏍💨
You’ve done really well with that Rob, looks very nice. I’ve had Ducati twins and the Aprilia Tuono Factory with the Accra pipes, after a while the novelty of the exhaust sound does wane a bit, so I hope the Harley noise doesn’t get on your nerves, the up side is you’ve got the original pipes anyway if needed. Enjoy.
Congratulations Rob, not a fan of whitewall tyres but the bike looks really lovely. Great to see how much you enjoyed getting it (and at a bargain price) 👍
My mid life crisis was getting through my bike test and getting a bike. Best thing I ever did and like you I'm a seasonal rider with a Tiger 900 GT Pro. Good idea about the road tax and sorn the bike, I may give that a go this year. Top video Rob 👍
there's noting wrong with asking as long as your polite, and rod seems a polite kind of guy, loved when rob said his mouth was watering with excitement🤤 hope you got a lot of safe fun out of it this summer ,
Lovely lovely bike Rob! (I’ve been biking again now for three years as retired, after passing my test in 1970) really looking forward to some nice summer weather! Hopefully see you at Detling hill one Sunday morning.
Gotta say I'm not a biker one bit but I do like the look of this Rob especially with the green& black tank etc and sounded awesome, you're right to be cautious but it turned out great luckily🙂👍
Nice one Rob. I went up to Loch Lomond and back from Lancaster on Good Friday on my Triumph Tiger 1200. Over 400 miles in a day and I was grinning from ear to ear all the way there and back. Can’t beat a bike. 😎🏍
It is said that we do ‘make’ luck - and you really have just made it. I have only ever bought one used bike that has been that carefully looked after, and I know it really is a buzz. It IS a gem of a purchase - especially with all those parts. Well done and I hope both you and your other half enjoy this summer going here, there, and everywhere.
Beautiful 'bike, Rob. Mint and a complete bargain! Didn't realise you were a fellow Biker. I ride a 2011 VN900 Custom Classic with V&H shot-guns (quite heavily customized).
Beautiful bike Rob. You look so happy Rob. Its great to see you with a jump in your step as they say. You got a load of extras as well 😅. Im really happy for you Rob. You have made my day buddy 😊😊😊😊
Lovely looking bit of kit that Rob. Personally would not catch me on a bike think they are death traps and a quick way to loose a licence. But i gotta say i love the look and sound you get.
I must admit, I'm not into bikes, though I do own a non running Honda Vision scooter I inherited, but that looks lovely. I never knew you could get white walls for bikes, they really set it off. Happy cruising. 👍
I have no interest whatsoever in bikes but I still enjoyed seeing Rob so excited and yes, what a bargain. Enjoy it mate. Good of Chris to give you that support.
potato, potato :) - had a 48 myself around 2015 - silver peanut tank that did about 60 miles between fills! Loved it, if I could have kept it I would but needed something for commuting - what a great piece of art for the summer!
Absolutely brilliant mate, I love bikes to, cant beat em. Just such fun not having to sit behind Granny on her way to church, or the young Mum, weaving all over the road while she is leaning round sorting our little Roderick with his sippy cup. Stay safe mate, happy trails.
I know so many people who buy these and spec them up to personalise them and they rarely leave the dealership standard. I wouldn’t have considered one years ago, but I would now. I think they are the perfect for the summer and there are plenty of places to go and numerous events as well. Enjoy! 👏🏍️
got to agree about Harleys, my usual ride is a Honda Valkyrie, Hired a Harley Electra Glide in Florida, brand new and it was bloody awful, had to take the ignition key out while riding as the dealer said they vibrate out!, handled like a donkey and stopped like a barge, enjoyed the sunshine though 😀
Small tank is called a peanut tank. The panniers are swing arm bags. You got a bargain and if you want to make a grand, wait till June and flog it. Ride steady 🤟
Well done Rob congratulations, green is not normally my colour but that is nice. It just goes to show that sometimes a cheap bike can be found and if anyone can 'sniff' it out you can! Take care on the crazy roads today Rob I know you will and enjoy. 👍👍
Glad you got the original exhaust as that is a LOUD bike, some MoT places will fail due to noise, I had to purchase silencers for mine just for the MoT. Your missus might need a better seat as my missus complained about the lack of comfort; anything over 30 miles was an ar5e ache. That price is a bargain. Lucky you.
Nice buy Rob! When I bought my Harley Street Bob it had Vance and Hines pipes on it, my first mod was putting the standard pipes back on! lol. I got stopped twice by the Law on the ride home, the V&H's were crazy loud! Ride safe.
absolutely brill, bit older than you guys and gave up bikes 10 years ago, last bike was a harley, but you are bang on Rob,when the weather turns decent I do end up looking whats for sale and if anything takes my fancy
They are nice bikes to look at but you certainly need breakdown cover with one and a mortgage for fuel too. As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters at the end of the day.
As you said once a biker always biker I am 75 and still ride but an old classic bike ,would love the beast you have got but the days of leaving my knees on the tarmac are long gone keep safe
Hi Rob and Chris, love the different video, and love the bike. What a bargain, lovely spec and condition. Proper result Rob, enjoy every mile on it. Alex.
Has a Road King for many years when I lived in California, rode Kawasaki 1000, then BMW 1200 for work at Police Dept and yes, the urge to ride is with you for life… ride safe and watch your 6…
I'm running this thro a HiFi and got it turned up, my next door neighbour wants to know how I got bike up to the third floor where we live.... loud is an understatement.cant fault u Rob. Stay safe out there boyo👍👌👍😁
Hello Rob,congrats on the bike, nice looking machine, and to have the parts if you want it back standard if you wish is a bonus.for the price you have done very well.
What a bargain for a very lovely bike! I've a Triumph T120 myself, and last 2 bikes I've traded in for more than I bought them, so you won't go wrong with that. Ride safe
Never been a big HD fan with the exception of a `Fat Boy` one of my pals once had and spent a fortune on....... but that looks really really nice. As much as I still love sports bikes at 65 my back, wrists, arms and neck cannot suffer it any more but am never gonna sell my R1 which I`ve had for 16 yrs or my Tuono which sounds similar with the pipes I have on, although I run it with DB killers in them and it`s still loud lol But the HD thing is starting to grow on me. Like you say Rob " Once a biker". Might well see you out & about on a brekkie run to the coast 👍👍🏍
Nice to be on 2 wheels for the summer, lets hope we get an awesome one. Don't think the white wall tyres suit it,if it was an old Harley then yes. You need to get Chris on the back 🤣
There's only 2 Noises can be Recognised when your back is Turned, ..#1, 12 Gauge Pump Action Shot Gun, # 2, A Harley . Thats Going to set some Car Alarms off😂 , Agree with Chris Get Sign Written 48 on Both panels. Great Buy
As a biker and petrol head im all over this content, all about the variety on this channel. Keep it up
Bikes scare the life out of me but saying that I can really appreciate the engineering that goes into them and this is no exception, that bike is truly stunning and if I had to have a bike then thats the style I'd go for but with a smaller engine (that has the same size as my Fiat car lol). As a motorcyclist for fifty years I have never seen the attraction of Harley Davidson but each to their own, we're all motorcyclists after all.
For me its the roads here, not ideal for Harleys, but give me one all day in the long roads in thw states 👌🏻
I think it's more status symbol than anything else, I was offered a test drive on a HD FB but thought nah, Ducati Multistrada V4S, Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro or the old faithful BMW R1250 GSA. So went with the R1250GS in the end.

😂 had visions of Rob coming out on a 50cc scooter with a pee pot helmet!😂
😝 funny
You was half right lol.
Cracking purchase though Rob and what a toy for the summer for you and Claire. 👍
@Snoopy My Dad was there with his Yamaha Fizzy 🤣💪🏻
Tune a 2stroke scooter and you'll be shocked at how well they can perform, get 75mph from my Yamaha Aerox 70cc
Lol
Well as a retired biker I can only agree with your sentiments Rob, but always regarded Harleys as tractors !! But you are quite correct the urge to get back on the beasts never goes away. Loved the video though great.
Lovely that you share your personal purchases with us Rob. I know I keep saying it but your enthusiasm for everything in life is infectious m8. I mean I'm not a bike lover but enjoyed the video
passion came through Rob .. great
Nice. Really happy for you, and really great to see Chris sharing in the joy as well. Very decent, respectful gentlemen. Thank you for sharing.
You like a big kid with a new toy. I think you were struggling to say you words you were so excited. Lovely bike 😃
Great to see you smiling Rob , you and Clare will have a blast on that bike this summer , love the sound of it and the colour
Haven't seen a smile that big on your face rob since you bought the lambo !! Well done hope you enjoy the open Rd for the summer.
Fantastic different video, throughly enjoyed it .
See you in the next one.
Rob.. What's the word for his wife
Chris .. Foreign
Funny as hell that was
Yeah, they are moving back to er. . Foreign! 😅
Still chuckling about that now! "Foreign" so funny with his dull tone.
😂
Have you tried your local foreign takeaway?
As a former HD owner myself, I restored a 1942 WLC 750 back in the 1970s and loved riding it with all its quirkiness, evertime I hear a Harley exhaust burble I get all nostalgic. Well done for treating yourself Rob, great video, stay safe👍👍👍

Lovely bike. My old man has a 883 sportster, he's nearly 80 and still rides regularly. You had a right touch with that rob. Enjoy.
Rob you're just like a kid's first time in a sweet shop!, big beaming grin and the upbeat waffle in the voice!! 😂 , enjoy and stay safe mate. 👍

Brilliant vid, been watching you guys for ages, although not your usual kind of video but it was one of your best, I'm not really into bikes ❤
You both said "not sure what this is going to come out like on camera" - It came out WONDERFUL on camera - OMG what a sound.....
You’ve done really well with that Rob, looks very nice. Harley's aren't my cup of tea but it was good to watch your face after you bought it beaming from ear to ear, excellent video and drive safe. 👍

Great video Rob, yes I'm a car guy but also very much a bike guy as well, so really appreciated this video, stay upright mate

Good to see a different style of video for a change. Love your usual content but nice to see a mix up occasionally and what a bike for the money!
Nice one Rob. I went up to Loch Lomond and back from Lancaster on Good Friday on my Triumph Tiger 1200. Over 400 miles in a day and I was grinning from ear to ear all the way there and back. Can’t beat a bike. 😎🏍

I’m not a biker however I did start drooling when you started it. That is as sweet as a nut. Very nice indeed Rob. Top job.
Lovely looking bit of kit that Rob. Personally would not catch me on a bike think they are death traps and a quick way to loose a licence. But i gotta say i love the look and sound you get.

got to agree about Harleys, my usual ride is a Honda Valkyrie, Hired a Harley Electra Glide in Florida, brand new and it was bloody awful, had to take the ignition key out while riding as the dealer said they vibrate out!, handled like a donkey and stopped like a barge, enjoyed the sunshine though 😀
Small tank is called a peanut tank. The panniers are swing arm bags.
You got a bargain and if you want to make a grand, wait till June and flog it.
Ride steady 🤟
Nice scoot, keep it DRY. sold my sportser last year -rust box all paint peeled even though looked after and covered in HCF50.
Well done Rob congratulations, green is not normally my colour but that is nice. It just goes to show that sometimes a cheap bike can be found and if anyone can 'sniff' it out you can! Take care on the crazy roads today Rob I know you will and enjoy. 👍👍
What a lovely bike Rob. Congrats you and Chris have worked hard enjoy the summer out on the road.
That'll put a smile on Rob's face every day.
Lucky you.
Will be able to hear to coming in the summer. Gotta love a bike !
All ways nice to see what hard work and persistence gets u
Nice buy Rob! When I bought my Harley Street Bob it had Vance and Hines pipes on it, my first mod was putting the standard pipes back on! lol. I got stopped twice by the Law on the ride home, the V&H's were crazy loud! Ride safe.

Very nice to see a bike on the channel, would be good to see a few more, it looks great (apart from the white walls) and sounds fantastic...
Well done Rob. You and Chris work very hard. Enjoy it. What a nice variation to the regular, excellent content. Cheers.
Congratulations rob you have just fooked the weather up for the whole summer😂
Nice to be on 2 wheels for the summer, lets hope we get an awesome one.
Don't think the white wall tyres suit it,if it was an old Harley then yes.
You need to get Chris on the back 🤣
Never been a fan of Harleys but have to say you got a proper bargain Rob, enjoy your summer riding.
There's only 2 Noises can be Recognised when your back is Turned, ..#1, 12 Gauge Pump Action Shot Gun, # 2, A Harley .
