Recipe (also in the description) 700-800g | 1.5 lb Starchy Potatoes 100g | 1/2 Cup Butter 60ml | 1/4 Cup Warm Milk Salt + Pepper Directions Clean the potatoes and use a vegetable peeler to remove the skin. Cut the potatoes up into small cubes and place into a saucepan. Fill with cold water and place over medium-high heat to bring to the boil. Boil the potatoes for 20-30 minutes or until very tender and nearly falling apart. Drain the water using a colander and place the potatoes back into the saucepan. Keep on the heat until there is no longer large amounts of steam. Remove from the heat and start to mash the potatoes using a potato masher. Season with salt and pepper and gradually start adding the butter in small amounts. Make sure the butter is at room temperature so it doesn’t bring down the temperature of the potatoes. Once all of the butter has been incorporated start to add the warm milk in small amounts until you are happy with the consistency. You may not need to use all of the milk. Check for seasoning and serve. This recipe is soo delicious. Try it!😍

I Just wanted to let you know I Finally Made my 1st Mashed potatoes and they came out great Thanks to this Video. I was so Scared to make Homemade Mash potatoes. I thought they would be lump and nasty...lol You made it super easy. I followed your Recipe as you did it; Step by step. I did use Pink Himalayas salt instead. It gives food a great taste. When you've mashed the potatoes put garlic butter in .Put it into an oven proof dish and sprinkle with mature cheddar cheese. Place it in the oven till Brown and crispy on the outside and smooth and creamy underneath. Enjoy.

I add butter and cream to the pan while it's still on the heat, after the potatoes, after the 'steaming' part. That keeps everything warm. And I either add a chicken stock cube or some MSG to the water before boiling the potatoes. Yum.

Hi there. I am a head chef. Let me explain you your very serious mistakes in making mash potatoes. A potato have a skin, and there is a reason. Yes, you have to just clean them softly, not in the way you did because you may broke the skin. So, why we need that skin on the boiling the potatoes? When we put the while potatoes in the boiling water, and boil them for 25-30 minutes (i mean a medium size potato, 100-150 grams), all the potato values and vitamins will remain inside it, the skin is the magic one that help. If we will peal and chop them we will boil faster, but all the potatoes vitamins will finish in the boiling water that after you will throw away. It’s a very serious mistake you do. After having boiled them, use kitchen gloves and without burning your hands you can keep them in your hands, and with a petit knife you can remove easily the skin and the unpleasant parts. The rest you did, was ok. Good luck
