I’m so happy I stumbled on your page! I wanted to hear your opinion about the possibility of transitioning into military social work from the college student population. I’m working on having my clinical hours done for my LCSW next May. I’ll be 30 this year and I’ve always had interest in working with active personnel and/or veterans.
Hi @Paris Palmer, I'm also happy that you stumbled on my page. I will gladly make a video to share my opinion about transitioning your practice from college students to military social work. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching and sharing your question with me.
Hi Paris Palmer, I just filmed a new episode (2 parts) to answer your question. It will first air on my other RUclips channel: the Military SW Network on 7/26 at 12pm EDT. It will air on this channel on 7/27 at 12pm EDT.
Thank you so much for this inspiration, my wife and I both graduated with our MSW and now have our LMSW. I have been working for a little over a year now at a community mental health facility and have been thinking about joining a branch of the military after completing my LCSW. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again for your videos.
I just completed my MSW. I am in the process of pursuing my LCSW. I retired from the Florida National Guard. I would like to return to the Army Reserve as a 73A. Thanks for your very informative videos.

Hello Comments team! I just got accepted for the Army UK MSW, just wanted to link up with anyone that could answer a few questions I had. Just wanted to know how PCSING works with dependents, where I’ll actually be going to school physically, the area…all that kinda stuff. Anyone feel free to reach out with some pointers/advice if you have any! I’m an Active Duty E6, so just looking for some program specific stuff!
@William Correa, congratulations on being accepted to the Army MSW Program! If you haven't already done so I would join the Army FSU/UK MSW Alumni and Students group on FB.
