Good episode. Finally for once the title says the right one. Seeing Polyamory be misrepresented a 100 times by Yt and other media mixing up polyamory and polygamy.

This type of lifestyle/religious ideology shows that our very country is illiterate. Because the politicians refuse to add limitations to the amendments that were granted by our founding fathers. If we could put into the first amendment you are not allowed under freedom of religion to create a cult and to marry children under the age of 18 to somebody that's older than 18. That's what our country needs to do but because they're illiterate they refused to do so. This stuff is disgusting but our country doesn't want to solve it they allow it to continue to fester.
Yeahhh I’d love to look into the GOP and see how many politicians had child brides OR KNOW SOMEONE with a child bride. It’s not just indifference, it’s culpability
This was mormonism in its original form? No wonder everyone immediately hated them in Joseph Smiths day. Even then, the cult vibes were obvious af to everyone. Wow! And now we need the internet, psychologists, & siciologist to identify cults for us by listing their key features.
Regarding the 1st judge. This is one reason of many, why we British don't have a written constitution and amendments. For example, it imposes too many unbreakable restrictions on real justice. It being unconstitutional or a constitutional right is too often, IMO as an outsider, used by defendant's and their lawyers as a get out of jail free card. People will always abuse the best intentions of others, the lawmakers here, so you need flexibility to deal with assholes. Ours is certainly not a perfect system, but equity and common sense would play a much larger part in this fictional scenario in a UK court, or so I hope.

These kids have never met any black people, except since living in New York. As fundamentalist Mormons who believe in polygamy (this is NOT the mainstream Mormon church- these are offshoot sects that left because the church gave up polygamy. There are lots of them- they're not part of the official Church of Jesus Christ, who are the Mormons we think of when we hear the name), they also follow the older teachings of the church, which was very racist. Their scripture said (it's no longer valid in the current Mormon church) that black sin is a curse and a mark of their pact with the devil before they were born.

Blacks and mormon don't go together, in the eyes of the mormon people we are kids from the devil. give me a break!

16 is a child. How in the world is this legal?
The US values the religious freedom of adults more than the rights of kids to be individuals.
Marriageable age varies from state to state. Several states have rather low ages to marry.
@themermaidstale5008 bmarrying a child, that is vile. In my country you have to be 18 unless some very special circumstances like teen pregnancy

@Neku628 it happens very rarely, mostly in Romani families or if the kids are like 17
