I played this piece as part of my music school audition, but I hadn't heard a recording until now And of course it's Bilger! Now I know what it's supposed to sound like. Love the Yamaha horn, too.

Very beautifully played! What amazes me is the distinctive Bb concept--warm, yet solid and alive--from a major orchestral musician who normally plays a C trumpet with a more brilliant sound. Yamaha has captured the best qualities of the Bach 37 but improved intonation and evenness. On a personal note, David no longer looks as young as the 19-year-old who took my music history class, alas!

It has been several years since I played trumpet and now I have a renewed interest in playing again. Thanks to David Bilger. I may not get to where he is but I just want to be better than before.

One of the nicest performances I've heard from Mr. Bilger. I particularly liked his tonguing near the end of the piece.

Amazing playing! However, I must say that David looks like Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pachino) from 'The Irishman'.

I knew a David Bilger that was a Saxophone player. Is this his son?

I'm trying to figure out the horn, looks like a Bach Strad, thinking the bell is maybe a 37, definitely not a 72, the flare isn't as abrupt.

Type "I Play Yamaha David Bilger," there you will find him playing Pines of Rome beautifully with it.

The piece is written for Bb trumpet, not cornet.
