Watching again this morning. Thank you!! You are a great blessing to me!! Listening to you, the music , and great content all together , make my rough times at this point in my life seem distant!! I thank God for you Sir !! Be safe and God bless you and your family!!!!
I'm a young tradesman trying to be a well rounded carpenter, with concrete forming, framing and renos. It's channels like this that I seem to feed off and can't get enough of. Please keep the videos coming because your the exact opposite of a "reality" tv show. You're a real tradesman.
Wranglerstar was my favorite channel... till I found yours. Very informative. Very articulate. Very pertinent. Very well shot and edited. Excellent. As a RUclips Creator, I know how hard it is to produce good content. Great job. Congratulations. Keep 'em comin'.
I am so greatful I found this channel. Thank you for all the work you put into these videos, Mr. Essential craftsman. I don't watch for the inspiration to do projects, I watch for the knowledge and the inspiration to master my craft as a carpenter and skilled craftsman.
Your channel is not just about information. It's your passion that makes it better than that. This kind of post serves to fill in the details of running a workshop too. Keep it whole.
You have me excited! I need to clean out my little shed. I'm looking forward to the shop tour! Love your channel! I agree with many other commenters, keep these together with the others and sequentially number them.
I truly cherish this channel. As a young tradesman in a city where cheap and fast are the dominant mentality it's amazing to get actual tips on combining speed with true craftsmanship. Keep up the great work and best of wishes in all future endeavors.
Clean & tidy work space, clean & tidy mind. Also allows you to be more efficient. When I have clean my own shop, it's not something I savour but after you are done it gives you a good feeling and sets you up for the next project.
Totally agree that your shop is your most valuable tool. And you really don't have anything until you have a shop. After years of apartment living, finally having a shop is about the best feeling in the world, and while it's nowhere near as big or as well equipped as yours, it still pretty damn cool.
Look forward to seeing you share more of your wisdom Scott. And its a good move turning your workmans workshop into a workshop studio for all to see and share 👍🏼😊
I just found this channel this week. I'm a 30 year old steel fabricator, but I love woodworking, mechanics and I'm always looking to learn more about plumbing, electrical, framing you name it. Best of luck with the channel, I wish you success. The videos I've seen thus far I've learnt a lot. This is what the Internet is about, sharing ideas and knowledge, not 7 second long clips of people acting dumb. Thanks for your hardwork over the years learning your skills and now sharing them with us. Hopefully one day I will be able to do the same.
I came across your channel quite by accident. I love it! I am a nontraditional person because my dad and grandfather taught me so much over the years, I have built buildings with them from the ground up, and I have some time as a professional Carpenter, this in addition to a BS in Corporate Finance. I can tell you I am more proud of my work as a Carpenter than getting my 4 yr college degree and coming across your channel has been a blessing in my life! Thank you so much! My God bless you and yours!
Take advantage of what RUclips videos will give you...money and recognition. Everyone including you deserves the effort you give. Love the video educations.
Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy each and every one. This is a real piece of America that I don't get enough of and as you mentioned in your video it's inspiring. Keep doing what you are doing.
Just one channel helps those not already subscribers to see everything you are excelling at. Not only are you a great craftsman but an excellent narrator as well. It's easier to search through one channel after finding that video that drew me to that creator. Excellent job!
You are a good man and a true asset to the RUclips community. I am out in my shop/garage right now doing the never ending organization/clean up and your video was the first one recommended! Just what I needed for a quick break! Now I must force myself to shut down the computer and get back to work-it's so easy to get distracted!
From all the videos I've watched on your channel, this one had the best piece of advise. Get rid of the junk. Everything has value, but it has no value if you can't use it or sell it right away. Love your videos. Thanks.
This channel is a pure blessing in my life. I want to absorb every nugget of knowledge and scrap of skill I can wrap my head around here. Thanks for putting this out into the world pal.
I've been catching up on all your content since finding the channel a few weeks ago. I'm no tradesman by any means but like to try my hand at different things and you Sir, are not only a wealth of information but a wealth of inspiration. I'm currently helping my son renovate his first home here in rainy Ayrshire, Scotland and watching your videos at the end of a working day is a pleasure. Like others in the comments here I love your son's music too. I'm watching for t-shirts being available overseas and expect a new Patreon member in the next few days (renovation schedule allowing). Keep up the great work and all the best to you and yours.
The fact that this man's channel is growing at the rate it is just proves there's still hope for mankind. The fact that there's 2 dislikes just proves we'll always have to work with a couple idiots...
I agree, I always wonder what 2 people know that 85 others must have missed. if you're going to dislike a video please leave an explanation. that way the rest of us can go 'ohhhhh, I missed that. thanks for pointing it out' when you reveal to us how observant you evidently are.... #accountabilityforthedislikers
Actually, it helps RUclips steer you towards videos you may enjoy. That's how I ended up on +Essential Craftsman. It doesn't mean the "dislikers" disapprove of the content, it's just not what they're looking for.
@@Elevator74 This! I try to not do that but there's been a few videos throughout the years that I've disliked just to keep them from popping up every now and again.
My favorite channel on RUclips, Im really enjoying the videos. My grandfather was a trained German blacksmith before he came to the states. Luckily I grew up with a father who had a shop, a love for old cars and turning wrenches. Working on and building things just became a part of me and I'm grateful for it, and even more grateful for the internet to teach and motivate me even further. Not many guys in their mid 20's have the desire to develop essential "man skills" but there are a few of us around! Thanks from N. Seattle!
Your shop looks a lot like mine. 2500 sq. ft. pole barn that was a horse barn, but now a shop. 40 year accumulation of "treasures" I was going to use some day. It's a beutiful day, maybe time to clean it out. You are my favorite channel. Your presentation, knowledge, experience, and class makes you feel like one of the family. Keep the great videos coming, they are deeply appreciated.
Every RUclips video that I watch of the Essential Craftsman I absolutely love. I watch many of them twice. I am learning so much from you. I just purchased my first Spencer Tape. I love it an it will have a purpose eventually.
Your videos are GREAT. As a college student I am making spare change by repairing and renovating rental homes. Your other videos have given me great knowledge and I have used several tricks on the job sight. I really enjoy your channel and keep making great videos!
Sir, Thank you for the time and effort you have placed into making your videos. I think that your videos are very educational and i enjoy them greatly.
Keep them in the same channel. One of the (or the) best channels on YT! I am glad that wasn't me swinging that sledge, we wouldn't have any videos for a while! Keep up the great work and thanks!
My father is a contractor. And like you he came to the same conclusion a while back. There are allot of accumulated things and materials in his work shop as well that made no sense in keeping any longer, by the time you need such things time is not your friend to try and find it in a cluttered shop and that is if your conscious allows you to use material like that at a customers home. With that said love your work. I love your blacksmithing. Although I am not one to do it on my own I can appreciate the artistic portion of it.
Found this channel last night and I am excited to get caught up on the videos and see what I get to learn next! Thank you sir, for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
With all the crap going on in the world, this channel is the best thing on the internet. Truthful, very informative, and just a joy to watch. Thanks foe sharing.
All of us craftsman tent to be packrats because we see value and use in things others do not. Sometimes that gets the best of us. Keep the good work up. Thank you.
I stubbled across your channel, pretty much watched all your videos. The tips and tricks you showed is definitely going to add to my arsenal of skills at being a professional carpenter. You remind me of my dad and grampa, I've learned alot from both of them and you definely share alot of the same traits. I genuinely enjoy watching your videos, you are one of a kind.
We had a D2 Cat like the one in this video when I was a kid. The pony motor had died on it, so we would hook a tow strap under the blade and to the frame, then the other end of the strap to the front tow hook on our '76 chevy. Put the chevy in 4low reverse and pull start the D2 (while one of us rode the Cat to pull in the two yokes). People couldn't believe we could do it, but it worked over and over again. Man to I miss that truck (and the Dad who drove it).
Watching you clear that lot out makes me glad I am not in the trade working now. Construction is nothing but hard work, mess stress and schedule. Fighting weather sorting and changing plans and tact. Done with it! All making for fun now .............................and fishing of course ha ha!
Really enjoyed this. As a GC, I can intimately relate to all the accumulated stuff you're always going to need again one day, but can't ever seem to find when you do.

Keep things on the same channel. Thanks for this video, you are "singing to the choir" so to speak. I am in the process of creating a new shop since I will be officially "retiring" from my design build business on the 1st of July 2017. I am going to print your quote, " the shop is a far greater asset than many of the tools in the shop, in most cases. And when the shop gets jammed up with junk your not using, you compromise your main asset." Essential Craftsman, and put it up in my shop. I will send you a photo when I get there.

Keep them coming, I love watching your channel. This one reminds me that I need to clean my barn out as well.
Absolutely love this channel! Keep it up mister!
Id say keep together -at least for now, thanks very much inspiring as always!

I just found your channel. I loved the video on making the shed! It was fantastic. Please do more videos on carpentry and carpentry/framing skills!
