Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
Chris Barrie was made for the Brittas Empire only he could play Gordon Brittas as I have the entire box set on DVD if any other actor played Gordon Brittas it would have not been the same and certainly not as funny 😂
@@sophiafakevirus-ro8cc all in all every episode was hilarious Sophia I think Chris Barrie was funnier in his character Gordon Brittas rather than his character Arnold J rimmer in Red Dwarf obviously he was funny in that too but he was made for the part of Gordon Brittas lol 😂😂
@@sophiafakevirus-ro8cc Just as good as the rest. I particularly liked the team building episode with the out of control ball and Helen thinking Gordon was having an affair. Helens character improved so much after series 1. I think series 6&7 does need Laura but they are still really funny. However I don't like the ending that it was all a dream.
Wow - he is so completely and blissfully (not for other people) un-self-aware. I don’t know if I can watch anymore than the first episodes because his behaviour and the destruction it wreaks is just so painful. He’s creating a toxic, non-productive work environment. There are people like this out there - no self-awareness - and it can be shocking. My own husband can be one of them. Creating chaos sometimes.
Laura (Julia St. John) is so dreamy. Thanks for the upload. :)
The writer had obviously worked in a leisure centre.
Chris Barrie, the best person at playing TV’s two worst people
Has to be a relative to that terrible Bucket woman!!!!
@@kerrykaiser6766 lol 😂 he may be perhaps be ha ha lol 😂
He does a remarkable line in playing jobsworths.
Release Date On Tuesday 5th April 1994 UK VHS

Peter Davidson was the first choice for Brittas.
Great comedy, seems such a long while ago now!

Too many adverts
Turn them off then.
Sadly, this has not aged well.
How so?
No, it was always like that.
