I saw a reddit tier list of the best bluelock content creators, and while I had my doubts, you knocked them out of the park. I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't find any content creators that made any meaningful content besides just summarizing chapters or making the most brain dead of comments. You sir, are a gem to this community, and I wish you the best for the future.
Hey, it's really cool to hear that that tier list got people to check out the channel. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, I'm still very proud of this video!
Such incredibly insightful analysis as always! I feel like so many of Blue Lock's readers are stuck in the present moment, that they struggle to grasp the series' greater themes and developments over the course of months of publication. You ability to bring those to the forefront, instead of impulsively exclaiming Kaneshiro to have blundered whenever something doesn't go as expected makes you a rarity in the fandom. Have you ever considered making a Discord server where viewers and fans could discuss such topics with you? It's something that I think is sorely lacking in the community since so much of the discussion revolves around peoples' inability to handle reading weekly. There's a lot I'd love to pick your brain on. Regardless, keep up the great work~!
Ahw thanks so much Macey, I really appreciate all your support 😊 The funny thing about writing this was that I remember struggling to understand how all the different plot threads and character storylines fit together during the middle of the match (that's actually why I avoided discussing current events for about two months), but in retrospect everything just seems so obvious. I found it really rewarding to revisit the match with a fresh perspective and seeing how well-written it actually is! As for the Discord server, I hadn't really considered it but I'll give it some thought. I'm a bit worried that between my job, the videos and my social life, I wouldn't have too much energy to give to something like that. I have been thinking about doing a Q&A video one of these days though. I'll follow up at some point in any case!
This is one of the few RUclips videos I've commented on, you pprobably won't read this, just wanted to say this is a REALLY good analysis like how it focuses on the story itself instead of just how good the players are. Which shows with how you call Chris Prince a prince when he is ten times better than every blue locker.
I'm already laughing at your intro because sameee I was so convinced that Bm would lose 😭 so don't worry you're not alone lol also an hour?! This is about to be good fr fr
Hahaha yeah I figured I'd have to own up about that since I was fairly vocal about this earlier this year in some way so might as well at least have some fun with it. P.S. dooon't do one hour long scripted content it's hell lol
I live for blue lock analysis, and when I found a hidden gem like you, I could only be excited. I absolutely love your analysis and the way you delve into the manga, it's very entrancing and I'm very much so looking forward to your future videos and your growth. Also, ISAGI IS KING
Love the explanation of the final goal. I was initially confused because the missing piece that Isagi figured out to score this goal wasn't immediately apparent to me. I expected that piece to be another individual skill for Isagi to add to his formula because that is usually how it went in previous arcs. When you lay out all the themes in the match, though, the goal is really cool. It also has me curious for the PXG game, because Rin's new style of play is more similar to Kaiser than it is to Isagi in terms of leadership. Congrats on the one year anniversary
I totally get that, it's not as immediately apparent how the final goal slots in with the match as a whole like in e.g. Manshine or U20. I'm glad to hear that I was able to make you appreciate the ending more now!
Brilliant analysis, this also explains why Kaiser was so unhappy with his goal. It all started with Isagi, who rallied everyone, including Kaiser, and Isagi was the "king" of that play- Kaiser was just a follower who finished the job.
so many ppl though isagi would lose (myslef included) I think the author's trying to make it clear that the NEL Isagi is very different Isagi if this was prior to the Nel Isagi it would take Isagi until about halftime to start making some major moves, but now he can affect the game right off the jump If this was before he'd have to slink away as someone's shadow in order to survive and score his own goals and become a "2nd Rin" but now with Hiori he has a "2nd isagi" Beforehand isagi couldn't hold a candle to ppl like Rin, Shidou, Nagi, before he was average, Mr.ordinary, he could only surpass those higher than him in small instances like when he thought reflexively to steal a goal from RIn and Shidou. Overall he was still a worse player than them. But now it seems like he can genuinely stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them instead of barely scraping by. he even says it at the end of 240 that "he's done playing 2nd fiddle to those monsters" it's almost as if the author himself is telling us that. The whole point of the Nel is to overturn every aspect of Isagi's playstyle/mentality so that he can surpass them and prove that his goal in the u20 match wasnt just a fluke or Pure luck. Basically it seems like Isagi's finally becoming the main character lol
Totally agreed on this, in hindsight it makes a lot of sense why Isagi grew so much over the course of the Ubers match. I particularly like the point about second Rin vs second Isagi, you're absolutely right on that front! It's an interesting turning point though, since we're still very much used to seeing Isagi as an underdog and I feel like a lot of fans haven't come around to that not being the case anymore going forward, if that makes sense
Thanks so much, it's a real relief to hear that it's actually engaging. When I realized I'd accidentally written a solid twenty minutes worth of material about Barou I was so worried that absolutely no one would finish watching this haha
@@suzelsmanga I've watched many 1 hour-5 hour RUclips videos so I am coming from a place of being used to long videos. but I still found this video to be particularly engaging and entertaining even with my experience.
With hindsight that Isagi and Hiori are both Freedom/World types, it may indicate that aligning personality types lead to to a perfect chemical reaction. Shidou (Freedom/Self) was in perfect harmony with Charles against BM. I think Charles also fits into the Freedom/Self type. This maybe gives us some clues how Reo's arc will develop and how he and Nagi will become the best duo in the story. Nagi is a Self type player. Im not sure if he prefers restriction or freedom. During the 2nd selection, Bachira gave him a pass that pushed his creativity. Furthermore, his Manshine supergoal, his goal against Rin in 2nd selection ect indicate that he thrives against competition/challenges. So im leaning towards Restrictive/Self. Reo hasn't shown if he thrives in restriction or freedom - I'd love to see his awakening (maybe in the Manshine vs Barcha match in episode Nagi). (i know most of that has anything to do with the Ubers match but that last BM goal really got me thinking) Just reread the Ubers match to watch this video and my appreciation for that match grew a lot, especially with all that personality type knowledge. It's definitely a fav. Great video as always, Suzels.
Hey I love hearing that you actually reread the Ubers match to watch this! I can definitely see it being the case that aligning ego types can help you create these collisions of peak performance. Nagi is the hardest one to place for me as well in terms of ego type. I'd probably land on self/freedom myself because he generally thrives in situations where he can exercise his creativity.
Following the Bastard Munchen versus Ubers match-up, the stage for Isagi's original ego to awaken looks to be the Bastard Munchen versus PXG match-up. Here's my reasoning on this: In chapter 239, Hiori states that his brand of football will be one that produces the best striker in the world and if Isagi is incapable of keeping up, he'll be discarded. In the very same chapter, Rin returns with an evolution that is said to be beyond comprehension as he completes his Hat-Trick against Manshine City. In chapter 240, Kaiser is visibly upset at how he not only lost his bet to Isagi but also how his value only increased by ¥20M while Isagi's raised by ¥100M, indicating to him how much better Isagi performed than him (At least, that's my interpretation). With PXG set to be Bastard Munchen's final match, an awakening from Kaiser is almost confirmed at this point as he'll aim to kill Isagi. Here's how events could playout between the mentioned parties: -Rin destroys Isagi and takes control of the match. -Kaiser awakens. -Hiori loses interest in Isagi and assists Kaiser. -Since there'll be a round of matches before the Bastard Munchen versus PXG, the bordeline for the 23 players who'll represent Japan in the U-20 World Cup will be higher. -Isagi tries to adapt to Rin and Kaiser but can't. -The match is 2-2 with Rin and entering it's final stage. -In Ego's office, Isagi's value is shown to be decreasing, emphasising how bad his situation is. -Backed against a wall, Isagi awakens his original ego and scores a Super Goal, winning the game. -In the NEL, showcasing something new increases your value far more than the expected. (Barou 1st match: ¥100M 3 Goals) (Barou 2nd match: ¥130M 2 Goals) -A Super Goal from Isagi, showing attributes either from the novels (Extreme Spatial Awareness) or at the beginning of the anime/manga (Solo dribble versus Kira's Team) could see his ranking shoot up to #1.
Happy Anniversary man! Your videos make me appreciate how beautiful of a story Blue Lock is. But could you also say there’s a theme of love in the Ubers match, and how you should value yourself and how you should treat others?
Thanks so much! I really like that, completely agreed that love is a recurring theme in Ubers between Snuffy and Mick's relationship, Barou being challenged about his self-worth, and Hiori learning to love the game and his place within the team. Maybe add in Kaiser's blatant disregard for Ness' affection as well, although that hasn't completely played out yet. There are a lot of soft parallels between Barou/Snuffy and Isagi/Hiori and this is a great one to add to the mix! I'm curious what you meant with the relationship religion by the way. I've talked about the religious elements in the Manshine match in one of my other videos, but I don't recall much about religion/spirituality in the Ubers match.
Thanks, I realise the Christian’s teaching of ‘love your neighbour as yourself’, with the question, and the relation between Isagi and God, it shows that it still important. Also I saw something on the Blue Lock Reddit, about the number of Isagi and Hiori, 11 and 23 respectively, and the possible reference to a bible verse.
Oh interesting, I hadn't come across that before. Definitely a fun little connection there! In case you haven't seen it yet, I covered the connection between Isagi and God fairly extensively in my video about the metaphors of BM vs Manshine
I'll take that as a compliment haha. Let me put it this way: if you're spending most of your free time making hour-long deep dives about a comic revolving around teenagers shouting death threats at each other for beating them in a game of football and you don't feel a shred of self-awareness, god help you
Your analysis' are amazing honestly. Im just curious where you think Kiyora would play into the BM system now with his portrayal as a blade through his profile
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that! I have to confess that I don't really have any great Kiyora theories myself - I feel like there's others in the community who have given him a lot more thought than I have. Just to give it a shot though, based on events up to ch 239: I'm hoping that Hiori's arc isn't over yet and that he follows through on his promise to become a director and not just Isagi's follower. So put Kiyora as what seems to be an all-rounder in Grim's position and we might have a situation where Isagi, who probably still has the lowest physical specs at the centre of BM's lineup, has another force to compete with and has to convince Hiori to support him. Having Kiyora as an all-rounder would also serve as a counterpart to PXG, since their and especially Rin's deal seem to be their absurdly high specs around the board.
What an amazing analysis, RUclips recommended me an hidden gem
Thanks so much, glad you found it!
