Ahhh, man, the old days! So glad to see the optimism running high in these vids, so exciting, for anyone like myself sojourning through the streets of Arkham years after this recording.
Cant wait for future videos from you guys reviewing the rest of the core box and the future expansions. I'm loving this game to play solo or with the GF! Quick correction: For the card Cover Up, you are not forced to discard clues from the card when you successfully investigate. You can choose to acquire the clue from the location like normal OR remove a clue from Cover Up. Thanks for the continued coverage of this game! I sold my Netrunner collection and have been itching for another LCG (and tokens) to bury my money in.
Good thing to note with the pistols, they don't discard when they are out of ammo, so you can pull that extra ammo down the road and then reload! We made the mistake of discarding the empty guns the first few times. D:
FYI on Cover Up - you don't 'have' to discard a clue from it when you 'would discover a clue', it's still a choice - the real choice is do you clear before the end of the game or not, in order to avoid the mental trauma. Also it doesn't 'spend' or 'use up' the clue(s) on your location, when you do choose to discard a clue from Cover Up - the clue(s) on your location just don't change.
If there is someone who wants to see how each hero plays, I just watched a series of videos in a YT channel called "noaloha". His voice is clear, he is not annoying (important and rare gift in youtube) and he uses Tabletop Simulator so there is no glare and the text on the cards is clear, in case you want to read them. He included the deckbuilding process so you will be able to see all the cards in the Core set. There are mistakes in the videos, but I guess everyone is learning the game at this point. From what he told me, he is preparing a full campaign walkthrough with 2 investigators, so this will have to suffice until we get more games from Team Covenent.
Big fan of your channel, guys. Great production value and info. All the best from Spain (I used to translate all of FFG's "A Game of Thrones" products, BTW).
Love the videos. I live in NW Arkansas and need to get over to your store sometime. Ever thought about expanding to the NWA area? Bentonville has no game store.
I am a first time buyer and player of your awesome game Arkham Horror The Card Game and have just purchased the complete Dunwich Legacy Cycle (Deluxe box with the 6 Mythos packs). Unfortunately, after that there are no cycles available to buy. Could you please answer a couple questions: 1) Do Fantasy Flight games still print the earlier cycles as I was wanting to buy "The Path To Carosa" cycle next? 2)Do the cycles have to be played in the correct order? E.g. I start with Dunwich Legacy Cycle but after that the only cycle available to buy in Australia is "The Dream-Easters Cycle". Can that be played next? 3) Is there any way of purchasing the older cycles if I live in Australia? Can the cycles be bought from Fantasy Flight games or another website and posted to Australia?
Awesome guys! both me and the girlfriend are looking forward to this game. Love the Macho Man cameo, lol! Any plans of demo videos? Would help us all learn the game easier. 😉 Later gator.
watched this twice and still no idea what this vid is about. Is this discussion of the base or guardian cards, are guardian cards in the base or not ?!?
There are a couple of layers to this answer! You'll definitely want at least two core sets to have enough cards for four players up front. If you want more 'optimal' deck options, having three or four core sets is ideal. The balance here is that as more products are released, the amount of core sets needed will go down as you will have more and more player cards. So, once there are a few cycles (series of 6 Mythos Packs) and a few box expansions, the total number of core sets for optimal play with four players is likely to be two. This also is true of how many expansions and packs you'll want. Initially, having two or three of each will open up more options for everyone. One we are on the second or third cycle, it's likely that one of each new pack and expansion will be plenty. So, it really just depends on what it is worth to really flesh out your current experience versus a year from now.
Would love to have a subscription with you guys, but getting it shipped to EU-Denmark will lead to economical ruin, (paying the product price almost 3 times over, isn't fun :)) keep it up, can't wait for a walkthrough of the other classes :D
I just think Roland's weakness is too much. I did noticed that some built-in weaknesses for these characters are more incapacitating than others. Having to investigate for 3 additional clues is too much in any scenario on this game. It is possible, but asks for too much extra time. The cost for ignoring it (1 mental trauma, which is permanent) is also too much if you're not on the very last part of the scenario. I'd make it 1 or 2 clues to resolve his weakness and would make him take less XP as punishment for ignoring it. It would make more sense than making him lose permanent sanity for NOT burning bodies to cover his actions... Just compare it the other built-in weaknesses of the Core Set investigators. I'd say Agnes' weakness falls second to his, but not close second. If you take the value of amount of actions, tests and resources needed to deal with his weakness, his stick out the most. Honestly if I were to play him I'd just hope to not draw it on every single game (would build heavy-cost non-drawing deck) and just take the mental trauma and blame it on his design. Other than that, the Core Set was a good start for this great game.
The game is really good BUT I am tired of FFG's unwillingness to offer an alternative to buying multiple cores for their LCGs. This kind of cynicism must stop.
They should totally offer a pack with just a couple of extra decks of cards for about $15. Do we really need 2 sets of characters and missions? Probably don't even need a complete set of second tokens.
@@Gdude1231 In theory, only 1 core set is sufficient for you to play the game. In practice, however, having only 1 copy of some of the best cards really weakens your decks.

As you were talking about the cop cards, I immediately thought that a Batman LCG would be awesome. Maybe even a DCU
Really enjoying your videos & enthusiasm for the game. I love how Robert seems to be the 'upgraded' version with 5 pips above his head!

Nice! We are still playing through the Core Set. Unfortunately it's happening around the table at houses instead of in the studio :D
I'm absolutely loving this game. Cannot get enough of it. Oozing with theme and flavour
Absolutely. We are hyped!

Thanks! We appreciate the very kind comment. Cheers!
I'm with you, Robert; I keep pulling the trigger until I hear the click. Good one!
Loved your Gen Con video! (Was there actually). Was a little on the fence about this, but I think I'm going all in on this one!
You will not be disappointed :D
You guys should do some co-op gameplay for LoTR and Arkham.
That would be cool, wouldn't it? #staytuned

Crazy! Bentonville is a great place.

We have a lot of videos coming, so stay tuned! :D
Don't even know the rules and this already looks cool. As a big fan of Syndicate in the LCG, I can't wait to see the Rogue cards!
I can't wait for the next video!
Super excited to see what you guys dream up for custom tokens! ;)
Stay tuned!
Whats shipping like to the uk for your box subscriptions? Does that include the core box?
Subscriptions only include expansions (packs and deluxe boxes) so it does not include the Core. Shipping to UK looks like around $24.
already got my subscription set up!
Awesome! Much love.
watched this twice and still no idea what this vid is about. Is this discussion of the base or guardian cards, are guardian cards in the base or not ?!?
Awesome video when can we expect the next one?
Should have more this week!
Nice touch with "the cream of the crop" :)
hey guys i'm new to LCG's how many copies do i buy if i want to play with 4 player? including expansions

Understandable! Your support is any form is much appreciated. Cheers!
Team Covenant have you researched what it would take to have an EU distribution? :)
Eniclac , Agree, same for me, Sweden EU, and im playing Lotr, Agot 2nd edition, and now also Arkham lcg.

Usually, if you want to play competitive, you need at least 2 core sets to create a decent deck.
Don't do this to me guys. This game flew off the shelves and I don't have my hands on it yet.
