H.O.T and SechsKies had such a huge rivalry back then that even the police had to intervene at times. Reply 1997 is just the tip of the iceberg. There's no way they would have never heard of those groups or at least one of their songs whether over the radio or from the speakers of the roadside CD/cassette push-cart vendors. Even if they aren't YellowKies, for guys like Heechul it's them going back to happier carefree times and being teenagers again :-)
