Barrie can u plz tel me is the DSG Gear box good on the vw passat 2016 2.0 tdi cos am buying one but bit onsure on the DSG Gear box the give any trouble thanks and love your vids
I’m not Barrie, but I’ve had a VW Scirocco R, a Audi S3 and a VW Polo all with the DSG box and never had any problems. Brilliant gearboxes, very smooth with ultra fast shifts.
Volkswagen recommend 4 years or 40,000 miles for a DSG oil and filter change. But best to check with your local dealer for the correct oil and also there are different types of DSG gearbox. Dry and wet clutch. If yours is a dry clutch DSG gearbox, I think they say that it is ‘sealed for life’ whereas the wet clutch oil requires changing.
I think this is a great idea to have an A1 for your first car. However, if you buy DSG version, please don’t drive it like ordinary AT cars, it’s different from them.
Nice Audi Barrie. I agree with you I prefer the Stamped Service Book. Digital Service history is useless
its ok as a back up, but you cant beat a stamped service book
Cheers Barry, good review...
What sort of MPG do these get though?
Hate digital service history that could all be lost if there was some kind of error. Old fashioned book and stamp is generally fool proof
me too
I would drive any car with a German engine... lovely little city cars💥💥💥

Just make sure it’s maintained correctly in order with Volkswagen standards. DSG oil changes on time and you should be fine.
gearboxes are pretty good and reliable but must be serviced regularly, and its critical that you put the correct oil in them
Ok thank u what miles oil need to be change
