- In this video we talk about the problem with Minecraft Villagers, as they're often considered overpowered and make Minecraft too easy. Do Minecraft Villagers need to be nerfed? are their trades and trading loops overpowered?

I love a good rant about Minecraft
Same!
I like mending trades because its hard to get with mods that add enchants
Some villager ideas
Iron golem cool down making them only spawn like a max of 3 per day
Villagers become claustrophobic and stop trading&golem spawning when locked in a small room
Villagers can only be zombiefied once anytime after they just die no zombiefication a second or more times to 1 emerald
Villagers have a hunger bar and hungry villagers don't trade and must eat 3 times a day one in the morning once at noon and once before sleeping
Villagers must socialize with one other villager once per day or they stop trading
We all love listening to other peoples opinions no matter how good or bad it is
its funny u made this video now they are finally nerfing villagers LOL😂😂
putting villager trades into tiers that require more effort to unlock would definitely solve the problem.
as much as I enjoy the idea of everything being a farmable resource, this meta shouldn't be so accessible at the start of a world.
It's a similar approach to the recent smithing upgrade, which I know a lot of people don't like. My goal though, is to make certain resources more valuable and useful.
in my opinion the problem is how easy it is to get the trades down by turning them into zombie villagers and then curing them
Still requires golden apples, weakness potions, capturing zombies, building a system to convert them if you want to do it by the mass. I disagree, it's not that easy and it's nothing something you're likely to do in your first few days of playing so I don't think it's an issue.
@@MonocleMC Without Zombie curingall high level items (Diamond armor,Books, etc) require hours of Farming and trading in emeralds to get by then curing the villager a few time is worth the cost also without curing there is no infinite trades
@@aguyontheinternet8436 Having cheaper trades isn't the same as infinite loops. Cheaper trades is fair as it takes effort to do it, the infinite loops are just an oversight by Mojang. They're also likely to not fix it as it would require revamping their entire system.
I really agree with locking the levelling up system behind a fee, and charging the badges material would be a nice mechanic we're already seeing with the smithing templates and requiring 7 diamonds in order to duplicate them.
Overall, charging 25 Diamonds for a Max level village would be absolutely justifiable, but also could be tied towards the trades in their next level. Either, we go the enchanting table way and you have to pay a blind fee for the upgrade not knowing what trades will be given, or you can see the trades in their inventory once their xp level has reached their maximum, but are simply unable to purchase any of them items.
Another mechanic could be that the price for upgrading the villager varies depending on their trades, which, if it were a blind fee and then next trades were not visible, a high upgrade price may hint at the next trades holding high value items.
I think maybe making viagers rarer could be another approche since transporting them is a pain
true, but u can also just cure zombie villagers closer to your location
bro got the best pfp
I use Villagers for everything, because I kinda hate mining (Ironic for Minecraft tbh) but I understand your point
@@aguyontheinternet8436 Hey I love villagers too!
After starting a server with my friends on Saturday last week, I can see how op villagers are, I’m still in iron armor taking my time, whereas around 3/4 of them are just working only on villagers and getting maxed out.
This would be a great solution so that way everyone just doesn’t op within the first few days of the server lol
Guys there's legit a villager at the end of the video that's wearing a top hat and it completely threw me off. You all need to watch to the end of the video to see it. It's worth it.
Hermitcraft is a pathway to many abilities some considered to be unnatural...
I can agree that villagers are op but i think a better solution is to make the trades more expensive when you change their trade. This makes it a lot harder to just get every book the first day and then just be finished with the game.
Making trades more expensive isn't a great way to go about it, my solution causes the player to completely avoid villagers until it becomes affordable. Preventing players from cycling trades is a bad move, you're just removing features.
@@MonocleMC i would say im nerfing features rather than removing them while you are trying to at features to solve a problem that I think is broken all trough. The trading system is just broken. It is to op that you can cure villagers, i think the easiesy fix would be to remove emeraldfarms and curing.
I think his idea is pretty good. Although I do think the only way it could work effectively is if they way improve the exploration, caving, and dungeonearing in Minecraft.
Bro got a sponsor lets go! Also this style fits u so well, gg
As someone who doesnt like mining, i see villagers as my best friends
Here because of the announced nerf to trading lmao. Imo your method is much better than just straight up nerfing the discounts themselves. Mojang’s method just feels like an extra minor inconvenience especially considering most people have raid farms set up by the time a trading hall is set up anyway.
Edit: new snapshot bringing biome based enchantments are somehow even more annoying than just straight up nerfing discounts. Can’t imagine having to transport villagers thousands of blocks to get a mediocre book
I kinda agree, because they are incredibly overpowered. But again, it makes many items renewable, which helps out long term/endgame.
Hence why I said I don't actually have a problem with trading. My problem is accessibility in early game.
@@MonocleMC maybe a good fix would be to have each level up also require multiple days to upgrade? As in on day one only lvl 1 villagers are available and won't upgrade until let's say day 3. All the way until max lvl which can be accessible after 25 days maybe?
@@JHak909Maybe you require a certain number of xp?
Realised villagers were not well designed and fun gameplay after 10 or so hours of placing and removing a lectern so I can get books to stand a chance against players with more gear.
Second realisation hit when I found out you can trade for actual diamond gear , and that its both faster and less risky than caving.
Don’t remember making any crop farms in recent memory , was just faster to find another village.
Discouraging taking risks and discouraging building stuff probably isn’t good
This is absolutely something that needs to be implimented because the biggest problem with the game right now is being able to obtain everything incredinly quickly. This would help A LOT with the progression of the game and would make the game more fun in my opinion. My best times in Minecraft have been the early game and the grind to the late game, but since villagd and pillage, its both boring and unsatisfying.
Also, I do lowkey like villagers trading treadure itsms, but maybe there should be a treasurer villager with a very expensive work station that maybe requires Netherite or something to that degree. Just an idea bc for the very late game, having to fish for nametags (wich shouldnt even be a treasure item) is ridiculous.
When I play minecraft I never go caving, always buying my armor and tools from villagers.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the challenge...
... Of opening the trade menu, nothing quite like it!
I do like this idea, but i think the bigger problem is the discount rate
Example) cure a villager to get a discount, or have a villager to turn into a zombie, zombifie said villager, cure and now all nearby villager have discounts(both are repeatable and stackable), buy a Bookshelf from a librarian (can get down to 1 emerald) break and sell the books(1 book = 1 emerald, due to discount), this is only blocked by how many the villager can sell and buy at a time
also there is "the hero of the village discount"
ah yes. I love sla-
I mean "business partners"
Hey they are making Villagers useless now. People got what they wanted!
It was too easy before.
as a Wandering Trader i feel atacked
I'd kill you in a heartbeat, sorry😂
I like your idea. Also removing treasure items would also be a nice thing. Its just that at the moment, getting treasure items is boring. Updating the fishing system would be a good thing.
I disagree, getting treasure items forces you to explore your world. Most treasure items are obtained through shipwrecks and treasure chests or dungeons. They definitely could add some more interesting ways to obtain these things, but I don't think it's that bad either!
Fishing could definitely use some love. Ever since you could just swim and punch fish with your bare hands fishing hasn't really made sense.
@@RisingRevengeance punching fish is still more long than just sitting back and fishing though
Villager items are plastic, glad you're spreading the knowledge ❤
I like the idea you proposed about spending diamonds to unlock tiers, but 25 would be insane if you wanted to set up a trading hall lol
Great video, loved the presentation and editing!
Congrats on the sponsor BW. That's a cool desk!
Thanks, Hocus! You've been absent😂
@@MonocleMC Oh, tell me about it! 😆
I agree with ur opinion ngl villagers need to be nerfed
nice
Mojang took notes 💀
Revert villages back to 1.13?
I think the tier price should decrease in quantity but increase in value, following the ore progression.
It could start at 25, and decrease by 5, but the last tier would be in diamonds for instance.
It makes more sense for the higher tier trades to be more expensive to unlock, not less. Early game 10 iron isn't a crazy amount, so you can still do some early trading and the more you progress the more villagers will become a useful tool.
Once you're end game, diamonds are fairly easy to come by and you'll have plenty spare. It gives more use to diamonds as well, similarly to the smithing upgrade.
But that’s the beauty of Minecraft - if you don’t like it, *don’t use it* and ignore villages and villagers
😐
Thats like saying putting something op and unbalanced in a game is ok because “you don’t have to use it”.You wouldn’t say this for any other game , why would you for minecraft?
Pretty much no one who uses these features are thinking about how this impacts gameplay in the long term, they just see an easy method and use it , and easy doesn’t necessarily mean fun.
The burden of responsibility for providing fun gameplay shouldn’t be on the player , but rather on the game designers.
Ad is 1/4 part of video 💀💀💀 no way
I think they should make trades expensive or make them more rare
Yeah villagers are crazy easy to trade with so it ruins the early game as well
im so sorry this video didn't get as many views as some of your others
It's fine lol
I dont agree everyone love to make villigers looting and a little bit mining witch is a way how everyone like to play or mining or TRADING and they must not be nerf
I have lot villagers under my house and cool videos 😁
Day 1 of asking Britishweirdo to play vault hunters third edition
I'm either going to stream it on the main channel or upload it as a series on the second channel
@@MonocleMC yay let's go
Well you got it.
Great video dude! I agree villagers are a great feature of MC but overpowered. I like the paywall idea as a way of balancing
Be careful what you wish for.
Your wish came true, but now, its even worse.
1 emerald per 8 diamonds and I know the infinite emerald strat
I love this guy man
Thanks Toilet man
villagers are getting buffed so.. :) they wont be seen as a farm anymore XD
hard nerfed
welp
skyblock being at its end
Villagers are indeed easy but vanilla has always been easy so I think villagers work just fine as they are now
What about wandering traders?
They're completely useless, what about them?
@@MonocleMC how do you think they can be fixed?
Have them trade useful items, right now, they trade plants, seeds, and nothing particularly rare.
I think their trades should be infinite
you got your wish
My suggestions weren't even close to what they're doing
@@MonocleMC a nerf is a nerf
Hi, I'm just announcing that I'm working on an exposed video of you for my 2nd channel
You heard him… subscribe
He is evil
I love slavery but it's too boring in Minecraft so villagers need rework
Can i please get a reply from you 🥺🥺
reply
@@MonocleMC OMG 😲😲
No bro you will make Minecraft unplayable!
They're literally nerfing villagers now
@@MonocleMC Yes but is mistake anyways i will still zombified them for lower price even if i must to do it a 100 times!
I absolutely love this idea. Having a pay tier makes it feel like you're paying into the "guild" that villager belongs to. Makes perfect sense to me.
Another approach would be questing lines from villagers. Have them ask you to clear out the abandoned mineshaft "nearby", and only once x block is removed or a banner is placed in the structure to mark it as safe, do you get those trades.
It could also be comfort level as well. Make it so you need to give higher tier villagers more items in their home or work in order for them to trade with you. IE, a diamond tier villager would want a nicer shop than an apprentice.
You ruined superflats world 😭.
I know this video is gonna be fire
Ohhhh, so you are the freaking reason for Minecraft new villagers changes, well look's like Mojang listened you and absolutly nerf villagers because of video content like this
My video has 3k views I really doubt that, honestly
gg
Looks like Mojang took yer vid personal 💀
My video with 3k views, I highly doubt that
@@MonocleMC this video about to blow up , don't ya worry
