If anyone has trouble timing the tempo part of the shot because flicking your stick up can be a little awkward, you can actually pull down and then rotate the stick up around the edge of the socket instead of flicking up, its made a big difference for me personally.

dont practice on MyCourt. Go find an empty park or city court to shoot around on. MyCourt is just offline timing with whatever slider difficulty you want. City courts have similar latency to REC.
Rhythm shooting is terrible especially w all the hitches and dumb catches. Everytime they’re anywhere close to me my rhythm shooting just geeks out and is very fast or slow. Super delayed

Red plaque so I play against a lock every game 95 perim at least. The game just has terrible hitches and catch animations and literally makes you miss if you don’t use their broken mechanic.
If you try to rhythm shoot around a lock the time it takes to catch and shoot is the time it takes the Max Lock to get from one side of the court to the other no problem

they put a delay there because they want to make sure ppl don't just shoot while trying to combo drible moves, because you could hit down by mistake, i think its not a bad idea. Its a good thing you can at least reduce some of the delay by moving your stick fast.
You don’t need to go from bottom to top. Aslong as they are in opposite directions it will rhythm shoot. Works on post fades and hesi chain. I have a slight issue flicking the stick perfectly vertical so I rhythm shoot diagonal. Also holding the stick before receiving the pass shoots faster

One more thing folks, when using rhythm shooting you can start from any motion you can start a shot with the right analog as long as you push the analog to the oposite side. Hince, start a hop jumper or your thumb is placed on the analog to where you want to shoot but, the way you're moving you cna't just let go yet. flick the analog to the left/rigght to start, finish on opposite side. Same for diagnal etc....I've even done some sort of street fighter motion move like Ryu super uppercut lol. As long as you motion opposite of the start you can trigger Rhythm Shooting. Im no @2kTutes but, this was me jut trying shxt. Tutes is goated. I just thought I found something to share lol. peace yall

Hey Tutes, I think you should make a pt2 to this rhythm shooting video. There's a better technique to get the push timing correct, while being able to control your tempo. You flick down on the stick to start the shot, then rotate half circle to the opposite side (at the right tempo!). The moment you start rotating the stick is your push timing, and how fast you rotate the stick to the opposite side is the tempo

On a side note, would changing the right stick to remove dribble moves maybe help, or using a controller that has paddles remapped for the joystick ?
You actually don’t have to move it up you can hold it down and then flick it which ever way works for you, I just pull down and roll it around either way find out what’s comfortable for you
You weren’t forced to shot with shot aiming in 21 though, if you timed your shot it would go in every time. It’s a 70% boost using rhythm shooting and it’s not even practical in most shot circumstances
Using the analog has always had that delay. it's a hold mechanic that differentiates if you're doing a dribble move or jumpshot. There's nothing wrong with it, though. I've shot using analog from the beginning, and I shoot better than most.

I only play center and have been one since day 1 of 25 and I'ma tell yall that they did a sneaky patch on us about 5 days ago right before the gods 2x rep event. They reverted paint defense back to 2K24 and it's really broken the fun of the game where people had to be tactical about going to the hoop against a big man. Height literally doesn't matter this year with contests
They should add in a button to hold as well as holding down right stick like R1 or something. That would be a way for the game to know you want to shoot. It would be good for catch and shoot cus it’s tough when you want to get your shot up before the contest and the delay messes you up. I wish they never added it tbh but i’m shooting way better since i started rhythm shooting.
Kevin Cruz has a fix for catch and shoots check out his rhythm shooting tutorial you bring the stick down slightly before the catch and it takes away the hitch
Not sure if you can test it but I feel like that's why the contest system is this way. If not all rhythm shots would be heavily contested because of the natural delay imo.
It seems there's no delay (or way less) if you're not already holding your stick down before you receive the pass for catch & shoot, just gotta time it better and start the stick motion as soon as you get the ball in your hands. At least that's what it feels like when I play, I can get those rythme shots pretty fast.
I think they should be there but another trigger w/ stick to remove the delay - I was suggest LT/L2 because you hold your hands out to recv pass but may make post controls harder

Jumpshot is broken. 2K is trying to sell us this nonsense as normal. When I was playing CYO ball, I knock down more wide-open three-pointers than my player can in my career.

This game is so ass right now , they just matched my 6”3 point guard against a 6-10 center in proving grounds … Everyone gets their own 3 point miss and rebounds All you need is 25 steal and 25 perminter defense ( just run into their chest ) People can spam dribble through your chest and no steal will happen
If rhythm shooting is the only way a new way of shooting then at least me no option to put my meter on so I can time it correctly along with the queue of my player

I literally know many people who run with others who only sit corner and shoot. Also you can do dribble moves with the left stick as well, obviously not as many but you'd be surprised how effective they are if you learn them.
