Seems like i might join the old heads next year. 40-49 division. Haven't skated at spot in soooo long. Since 94-2001 ish. Like seeing ppl still skating at our age and not just transition.
Rad skating for a bunch of geezers. I watched some videos of that one 56 year old skater on RUclips at Eventhorizon40, and I'm kind of surprised he didn't show up.
I remember being 16 at the skatepark thinking all the doods drinking beers at 23 were old. I just turned 26 and feel like an overweight dinosaur. These guys give me hope ill still be skating
I tried taking part in this. But me and about 5 others left because we got snaked more than got to ride. It's not worth the $30.00 to pay when you're lucky to get one run in every 10 minutes. When the dame person cuts you off repeatedly before they realize you're trying to take a run. I duess one thing I learned after while in my 30s. Give everyone a chance to skate, then use your own ego to lack maturity. I guess skateboarding here is nothing more than being in high school for the atmosphere. Even on regular session days.
Hey Brandon! We are sorry to hear about your experience at the Bowl Jam. Practice is usually pretty hectic, but once the contest starts everyone gets their own turn with 3 runs - skate til you fall. Hope to see you guys at the next one!
What happens to 49+ skaters and is there a old woman bowl jam? Not doing the crazy leftest thing here . But their are a heap of 49yo + skaters about these days , we are not getting any younger but we are still skating and some of us dont have dicks ... lol
Women are allowed to enter the age bracket they fall in! We had a few join us last year - didn't have anyone out this year, but will do better about promoting next time around. Thanks for your input!
Oh my god. Theres a skate competition called "Old Man Bowl" where some OGs dust off their old DCs and shred some tricks. Once you're a skater, you're always a skater. The tricks they're doing are so old school and it takes me back. 🥹 They have all the old brands sponsoring it and everything.
