    Do all HID to LED bulb conversion kits like this require a control ballast to work?

    • @importjz
      @importjz 3 месяца назад

      Yes pretty much all HID and LED has a ballast. With the HID it’s better to have a harness that connect to the battery, if not some cheap kits one might be on and another no. Then you have to turn off and on few times before both comes on.

    Can you use this in a stock halogen housing,it won't be blinding to other drivers

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  7 лет назад

      Yes, the headlight conversion is designed for the stock halogen housing.
      Also, there are many factors and many upgrades to headlight housings over the years that help mitigate any glare to oncoming drivers. It is more or less the color of the light which causes distraction and not the actual brightness intensity itself. If you notice, the most distracting lights to see on the road are the blue HID lights which cause a lot of glare for the human eye, whereas you probably never noticed the 6000K or 8000K lights on the road because they are more natural to the human eye.

      Yes, the auto feature will work exactly as it does with your halogens.

      Yes, the product linked in the description is the exact same as installed in the video.

    2014 Forester Premium - for the high-beams you suggest a 9005 LED. Since the highs and DRL are controlled by the same bulb - how does the LED adapt as a DRL?

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  5 лет назад

      There would not be any issues when installing the 9005 kit on your highs, as it would also upgrade your DRLs. The kit will work for both your highs and DRLs without any problems, as our LEDs are designed to dim once your DRLs ignite.

    Do you by any chance have any info about 2013 Forester DRL/High Beam LED swaps? I've been reading online that I would need to disconnect the DRL resistor, but I can't locate it. All the info I've found online have only been for 2014 models and newer or 2012 and older, but absolutely nothing on 2013. Any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance!

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  3 года назад

      For the high beam swap you would install this kit:
      www.precisionled.com/shop-by-led/headlight-leds/9005-led.html
      Our products call for a simple plug-and-play installation, so you would not need to do anything other than follow the instructions in the video above.
      There would not be any issues when installing the 9005 kit on your highs, as it would also upgrade your DRLs. The kit will work for both your highs and DRLs without any problems, as our LEDs are designed to dim once your DRLs ignite.

    Hi there, i have few questions about this product.
    1. Just to make sure, this will work on a 2017 base model 2.5i forester right?
    2. Is the pricing of $139.99 for both sides or just one side?
    3. Do i need to re-aim the lights after installation? Or are they already set at the correct height?
    Thanks

    • @PrecisionLED
      @PrecisionLED  7 лет назад

      Thank you for your interest. Yes, the kit linked in the description is compatible with your 2017 model. The 139.99 cost is for both sides of the vehicle. No, you do not typically have to adjust the headlight cutoff line after installation. The LEDs would be set to the correct height.

    This is how you blind other people. LED bulbs in a reflector housing is such a dick move. You can even see a PERFECT example in the shot where he has one halogen bulb installed and one LED. The halogen isn't directed into the camera on the right of the frame, but the LED on the left of the frame is not a focused beam and some of the light is directed at the camera. Get projector housings or don't do LED.

    I was told that the headlight housing designed for Halogen does not properly reflect LED lights, as the direction(s) of emission are quite different. Also that if/when changing bulbs like this, one needs to monitor and possible adjust the aim of the headlights. Else they may well be shining above recommended heights, and this all is why they are not deemed legal for DIY changes.
