Will Divergent 4 (Ascendant) Ever Happen? Why Was It Canceled?

- After the first three Divergent movies the fans were left with many questions and a 4th movie was planned. The Divergent series first started as books with four books written. The plan was therefore to make four movies with the 4th movie split into two parts.
So what went wrong? And why did the actors suddenly lose interest?
I really liked the movies and would definitely watch another. Only if it is with an original cast.
I am so annoyed and bummed out that they dropped the ball on Ascendant. I can't stand it when they leave a series unfinished! It's such a bummer. 😔 And I REALLY liked the Divergent series. Hell, I'm 36 years old and I still like Twilight! LOL I also thought the Divergent series was better than the Hunger Games IMO. How do we create a petition and make them finish it! LOL 😅
Nah, I liked Hunger Games better than the Divergent series. I thought Allegiant was REALLY bad
Netflix, Prime or Apple should just release the fourth movie

Just finished Allegiant. It might just've been my favorite of the 3 so far. Welp. Damn.

I loved the show , and the books
I heard that the ending in the book ruined the series, alienated fans and cast (I believe even Woodley spoke out against it, the author did not budge). And on the back of the poor performance of the penultimate movie the final movie wasn’t deemed salvageable and destined for failure

I love the book series. The 1st movie was actually pretty good, it followed the book fairly closely. The 2nd movie was okay, but it differed from the book in a lot of ways.
The 3rd movie, however, was horrible. It was so far from the book that it was unrecognizable. The fact that they had different screenwriters for all three films didn't help.
I think they need to wait a while, maybe ten more years, and reboot the entire series with three new films (not four), and an entirely new cast. Some of the original cast members could play new rolls, those of the adults, but other than that, start clean.
And follow the books!

I didn't read the books, but, boy, Allegiant was a failure. But, since I had already become a fan of the series I ate it. I still think they could make the 4th film happen. And they could make it a success if they tread wisely and think before proceeding.
I should go read the books.
