It’s a wonderful feeling when that Ah Ha moment takes place many times it’s overthinking the problem and that moment that it’s the last thing from you mind it happens it just comes to you the relief is wonderful but you think why was that so hard. I’ve had problems with cars, homes, computers ( my occupation for 30 years), lawn mowers you get the idea. The solutions are most times right in front of you you just need a clear mind with new eyes. I can’t tell you how many times when I figured it out I was like how could you miss it or make that mistake.

I had a similar thing on my Seadoo Jet ski. It would stall at 5000 rpm and after months of looking at the schematics I noticed there was a 6mm restriction in the fuel return. What I did was, place a 6mm mig welding tip in the return fuel line and bingo, it fixed the problem. I had that same feeling of joy, knowing that you'd finally fixed it and the sense of achievement, well only you and I know Jimmy.

Jimmy my name is Lindell Hardt in Litchfield Illinois and have watched your sight for quite a while and have told many people about it. I am a flight instructor with a one-man flight school and work on aircraft under the same conditions of an iA like you do. We have a piper Lance with the same motor you have that was overhauled by an unnamed motor company and it came back with the fittings the same as yours and had the same overheating problem. After having two flights of over heating problems our mechanic figured out by taking photographs before taking the motor off that the lines were in the wrong position. We had the same hallelujah moment when we flew it after lines were changed. Keep up the good work and CLEAR PROP.

Jimmy, my name is Lindell Hardt from Litchfield a Illinois and I have watched your site for quite a while and I’ve told many friends about it. I am a flight instructor with a one-man flight school and have worked on many aircraft as you have under the supervision of an IA. We have a piper Lance that had the engine overhauled and came up with the same problem. After two flights of overheating the mechanic found the problem because he took photos of the motor before it was removed and solved the problem. The unnamed motor company had installed the fittings in the wrong holes as did the one you have. We had the same hallelujah experience after the following flight. Keep up the good work and can we have a CLEAR PROP!

I love it. Had a similar unresolvable issue on a Olds 98 oil pump one time. I would come home from work and work until midnight for a week trying to figure out why it would not pump oil. Turns out I had the spring and the plunger reversed in the oil pump. I just thought it was unable to prime itself until I reversed the spring and plunger. I was like you and the Mountain Dew when I cranked it up and oil blew out all over the engine.

Outstanding. Reminds me of when I overhauled a pair of diesels in a boat and the captain had me remote mount the secondary fuel filters to a more accessible place in the engine room. During sea trials it wouldn't turn up to full RPM. Checked the tune up a couple times and still wouldn't turn up. Checked fuel pressure under load and it wasn't getting full fuel pressure due to the constriction of the fuel lines being longer. Upsized the lines and it ran like a r*ped ape. Thing had me pulling my fur out.

Number one: slide the belt over one end of the propeller first...then slide it over the opposite end then viola! u will be done!Number 2: buy a bigger belt and then it should go around the blades without touching...u might have to do a lil more tensioning on it to make it tight!...Problem solved! If u have any more questions, feel free to ask...Ty young man...u have come a long way under my tutelage!

Reminds me of the time We got aircraft back from DEPOT f/a18 wings off kind of procedure, where doing our phase inspections dam flight controls would pass. Short story they crossed the lines to aileron Switching valve. you talk about pain in the ass figure out, only failed on "Bit" check... seriously nice find. that why love working on aircraft wish i would choose that as my last tour... that's whole different pain the ass story... keep up the great work.

Jimmy, I think you should get a custom painting company to paint the 310 in a US flag scheme with flowing stripes with maybe a blue cowling with stars on it. Or maybe a blue tail with stars on it. The painting company gets a decal on the plane in return ala Nascar. It seems fitting if you are going to use it to carry veterans around.
