I'm more convinced that I am a type 4. I remember when I was wearing type 4 clothes and felt good about myself, I was told I looked like a movie star. It's not about my facial features but I think it was the pressence I exuded.
Yes, I hear pretty most I think too and also sweet, although that’s not really about the outward appearance. I also get told very often that I have a calming nature about me. I’m a 2/1.
I am most told I am beautiful by men(including my husband💓)....but women tell me my outfit, my hair is stunning....then my closest friends and even on occasions my young adult daughters tell me I look hot(?)
I love being called cute. When somebody says to me that I am cute, I feel it is more than being just beautiful. It reveals that my personality has a deeper meaning and more substance. I also kept my inner child alive and I'm not letting it go. Being S2 helps me being introvertedly happy because of it. I never resisted being called younger than I am, even when I was younger. I was really happy with all that.
Beautiful, elegant, stylish, refined (I'm a type 2 :-). I have some traits of type 4 too, I think. My singing teacher says I tend to hold myself back, but my actual voice has a lot of energy and resonance. - Thank you for the video ;-)
Yes, I did sometimes avoid the 'cute' compliment for some time, as a T1. But, I am now embracing cute and adorable, and any time someone validates my T1 qualities, I feel some relief, because I know I am on the right track to true *healing*. :)
My daughter is a 3/1 and she just intuitively loves type 3 stuff with a type 1 twist. She's edgy but has cute touches, and has more than 50 necklaces and accessories. She always looks great. I guess you might tell her to wear more brown and no black, but either way, I am always telling her how great, cool, awesome and/or adorable she looks.
I'm going to let myself be cute and start buying those "cute" clothes. I started DYT a year ago and thought I was a 2 or 4, probably because I obediently wanted to "grow up" and I acted the part of being more serious and responsible, when actually in my heart I'd rather be dancing and singing in the sunshine. Now the challenge will be finding Type 1 colors in the stores as we move into autumn and winter! 😃
I associate with stunning T4 and beautiful T2. I am still trying to decide my dominant and secondary. Your videos are enlightening and l enjoy them very much 🙂
The first 5 minutes of this video used to be me..before finding DYT! I used to purposely wear black bc I had thought that by wearing it, I would avoid the "cute" comments. It didn't work...instead, they just said..nothing. What a relief to honor my true energy🤗😊
I have been told I looked like a model and was statuesque since I was a teenager. I am not the beauty standard, but people stare. I've also been called Queen for many years by random strangers. I never connected these compliments to type 4 energy until now. Thank you.
The compliments we get are really telling. After exploring each Energy Type, I settled on Type 4. My personal trainer calls me "high spirited" like his aunt. My husband calls me "hot!" My friends say my high-spirited niece is just like me. Then Carol gave me the grace of a #TruthBomb: yep, I'm a Type 3! The world knew it before I did!
I have been called hot, cute, stunning and beautiful on many occasions. But mostly people tell me that I am beautiful. Today I discovered by self assessment that I am type 2 🤗🤗🤗
Carol, I've been called cute, pretty, beautiful and stunning but only called stunning by women Mostly. I just always thought that cute was reserved for children and puppies but you broke it down nicely. I've never been afraid of color so I wear a lot of vibrant color. I haven't been referred to as hot since college and I'm okay with that, for now! I appreciate your video and breaking dow these key words. Younger guy who's attracted to me sent me a message and said "Hey cutie 🥰😘" which is how I ended up here. lol! It annoyed me but i digress. Blessings!
Hi Carol. Very educational. I am Type 2 / 1. So I guess I am Beautiful - Cute. I've noticed that I only receive compliments when I'm dressed up. If I dress comfy casual I don't get compliments.
Sometimes for T4, instead of people saying you look stunning, it comes out as a gasp & a “wow”. For a 2, along with beautiful, pretty & lovely also fit.
I’m a Type 2/1 or 1/2 (I’m leaning more towards 2/1), I see features of both types on my face. Sweet and pretty is what I got most often, especially as a teenager and in my young adult years. I was ‘the girl with the sweetest smile’ in my yearbook. People would tell me that I had a ‘Disney Princess’ vibe about me and would joke that I could get away with murder if I had to because I looked so innocent. I only started getting called ‘beautiful’ as my looks started to ‘ripen’ into my late 20s and 30s. Now I get more ‘you look beautiful’ than ‘you look pretty/sweet’. I have never been called hot or stunning. Cute, yes, but rarely. My type 3/2 younger sister otoh, has been getting ‘you look hot!’ and ‘beautiful’ even since we were teens, she’s more extroverted than I am (I’m more of a friendly introvert), and people also always assume she’s the older one.
I am a type 4 and once the video started I scrolled to review your notes to see the four words...I immediately had a reaction with stunning and was pleased to see that was our beauty code word :)
I have not heard any compliments in 20 years! I always used to get them before. Even when i go to hair salon. Im thinking i was dressing a 3. I always stood out. Not sure if Im dressing a 4 now. Im thinking i am a 3.

I still don't have it figured out. I've read the book, joined the site. I feel so stupid. I can figure out the other people better than myself. What's wrong with me? Which makes me think I am T1 because when I read about all the types I said " Oh that sounds like me", and I can't decide which I am. Then again, when I first heard about the four types I thought I must be T2. Because I've usually been more quiet and laid back. But on the other hand I've been told that people think I'm bubbly and happy. I'm so confused!

The lady is most definitely hot at 8:25 -- such a fantastic makeover! The cut, the colors, I love it:) I do favor Type 3, mainly for the colors I'm drawn to. I *never* wear black/grey (except at a wake), is that another indicator?
I don't get a lot of compliments, but when I do it's on my clothes ("Your shirt is cute") rather than how I look in them. My husband and I have profiled my face as T2, but only he and my Dad have ever called me beautiful. But I also don't tend to dress very femininely, I prefer androgenous or menswear inspired styles, so maybe that plays a part?
I don't get compliments about my appearance, only my personality, intelligence and humour. My daughter is sooo cute, she hates it :D I think I am secondary cute.
My adult daughter often calls me cute! Another point for T1! However Still trying to determine whether I’m a 1 or 2. I think the younger me was a 1 but think life experience has me hiding as a 2.
I'm told..."you are soooo cute!" Most the time, on a rare occasion, like once every couple months : " you can be very intense", and when I dress up: "you look beautiful, or you look fabulous". But 98% of the time is that I am cute, funny, animated....uhmm
I so want to be called cute, because I associate that with warmth, sweetness and making people feel comfortable - but I almost never get this compliment. So: you go, type-1-girl! :D I get mostly pretty (Is that equal to beautiful?) and second mostly hot.

So I’m cute. No one ever is going to say, “She’s so beautiful!” Melania Trump to me is beautiful. I’d look like a silly elf next to her. I’m short too. My voice is even child like. I play flute and piccolo. My mom always said I was to noisy. She was a type 2. I was annoying her. “Perky” is another code word for us Type Ones. I taught kinder music for many years. Music 🎶 accompanies me in my mind wherever I go. I often wake up with a tune in my mind. Somebody referred to me as a “spitfire”. I’m the energetic optimist.
Not everyone has the same knowledge and they reference the words they feel comfortable with. A Type 1 can still be beautiful, pretty, or hot, you just lead with cute. Do you know your secondary?
I'm not sure I'm a 4, but I'm exploring the possibility. So this may not work and I purposelessly did not look at any other responses. So here goes: unique, romantic, warm, beautiful, charming, sexy, movie starish like in the 1940s glamour, and I have to admit I do like to stand out to some degree.
I identify as T4, but have been called cute forever...because I am 5'. Now that I am 51, rather few comments about my appearance :) Does stature play a part?
@@CarolTuttleVideos Yeah, I had typed myself as a three though, I'm starting to think I'm a type 4. My boss has also told me that I have a real eye for process improvement. But, I swear a lot, my posture is awful and, when I'm relaxed, I'm generally a goofball. I've also noticed, at work people have a hard time trusting my judgment.
I'm seeing a pattern here: As a former newspaper fashion editor, colleagues -- particularly women -- used "stunning." But I think they were talking primarily about my clothes and borrowed fashion sense, not me. Now that I am older, but still youthful in outlook, younger people often say, "You're so cute!" But I think it's because I do not generally act or think like someone almost 72 in the conventional sense. The most consistent adjective throughout my life -- the one with which I most resonate and give the most credence -- is, "Beautiful!" And I don't mean that in an egotistical way! As the saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!" Or, as my mother used to remind me, true beauty is more than skin deep. So when someone says or has said, "You're beautiful," I think they are seeing less of my outward appearance and more into the depths of my soul. I know in my bones that I have a more gentle, compassionate, softer, more introverted and introspective nature -- to whit, my vocation as a spiritual director and counselor. The learning curve through LYT/DYT has been to not see this as a sign of weakness, passivity, or invisibility. I'm still making a "statement," but just in a more muted, soft-yet-strong way.
@@CarolTuttleVideos No, thank YOU! I've been a long-time member of DYT/LYT, especially during some years when I didn't know "which way was up" in terms of my true Self. Your compassionate wisdom and obvious desire to help women of all races, ages, nationalities, etc. has accompanied me on an important journey. Wishing you and your wonderful team all the best in the valuable work you do! It's ALL good!
@@jaimezuniga4702 Yeah thanks that makes sense. I was called smart by my classmates and my siblings and my mom. I was also known as a 'know-it-all'. But I also take that as a compliment.
I love being youthful, cheeky, witty, childish, mischievous and uplifting but I resist cute with all my being. It is just not appropriate for anyone over 10 years old. Have lived t4 most of my life because I'm an ekdwst child who was expected to behave in a mature and reliable manner from the age of 2. And being a t1 I was eager to meet expectations. I don't really remember being called cute ever. I would not deam of calling someone aged more than 5yrs cute. Is this a cultural thing? Or am I just being cantankerous?
I'm not sure if it's a cultural thing? In the United States, it is fine and many Type 1 women love it. It could be you need to heal something around that?

When you dress your truth what comments do you get?
@@CarolTuttleVideos “cute” and “really nice”
Really nice in a pencil skirt or ponte knit, cute the rest of the time
@@romainecalm1108 Are you sure you are a Type 4? It could be just what people are used to saying.
I feel I am completely a type 4 but I have always been called 'cute' and I started hating it!
Have you taken the full course at dressingyourtruth.com?
@@CarolTuttleVideos I shall do so. thank you!
I've received comments like "striking".
Have you always received that compliment? How very Type 4.

Is any particular type prone to salty speech? Or kind of insensitive speech?
Any type.
Insensitive speech is not a type-specific thing. It may show that the person has some wounding that one may need to heal.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!
I enjoy all the info in your videos but I'm constantly struggling to hear what you're saying! Please turn the volume up on your videos. Thank you.
I’ve enjoyed having edgier haircuts as a sort of surprise to my sweeter energy.
Which Type are you?
@@CarolTuttleVideos Hey Carol! I would guess mostly 2 with a little 1.
I'm often called smart but I don't think it's a beauty word.
Are you type 4?
Yes
In the UK smart used to mean well put together or stylish. I was a bit stumped as a child by smart meaning bright/clever in North America
My sister and son are type four and I’d say they get that comment a lot. They are thinking people-intellectual.
You have "the curse of cuteness" :D Look at Graham Norton, he owns it.
Cute and hot! 1/3
How long have you known your Type?
@@CarolTuttleVideos just a few weeks. Not 100% sure. Going to read your book to make sure
