My father died from stomach cancer. He suffered physically and emotionally. It was the worstexperienceof my life. Whatever a person can do to prevent suffering from cancer, do it.

I got my cancer diagnosis over the phone too! How cruel of the medical establishment…My mother died of endometrial cancer 4 yrs. before I was diagnosed with the same grade, stage and type of cancer. I thought for sure I was also going to die the same way my Mom did. Thank God I am cancer free 14 years now. God bless you for sharing your experience. ❤️‍🩹

It is unimaginable to be told this information at this young age. It appears that you had excellent medical advice. I am so glad that you made this hard decision and now you are a beautiful young lady who has a full life ahead. God Bless you and your family.

What a pretty, smart and healthy looking young lady! She did the right thing - as young folk heal faster than older people.

I don’t believe the age limits when it comes to any kind of cancer. I believe that there is no rule when it comes to cancer! I’ve seen so many stories about docs telling patients that they are too young for a certain type of cancer and then that person end up getting it anyway😞 I believe these doctors really don’t know much about cancer!! Cancer is so relentless and unpredictable😢 My dad died from lung cancer at 47 and I am terrified that I am going to get it and I am 42 right now😞

She should talk about how her eating habits had to change with no stomach. I would like to know what types of food can be consumed.

I keep thinking about how medicine is really improving and helping cancer patients. 20 years ago my husband had stage four lung cancer wasn’t anything they could do to really help him survive no mini stage four lung cancer patients are getting cured and living a full life. So hopefully with your situation medical knowledge will come through to help you really get past this situation

Jan, thanks so much for your comment. We're sorry to hear about your husband's (and your) experiences. It is a blessing to be able to be in this era now with medicine and science giving more options to patients and their families.

Hi Renee, thank you so much for the feedback! Totally agree. This interview happened a few months ago when we hadn't introduced the TPS host's face. Appreciate you taking the time to write us.

I am happy for her of course but this story does not give hope to those who weren’t given a heads up before they got it. She was lucky that she was being watched in a way and so was able to catch it at stage 1, but I feel this is very sad and takes the hope away from people who are diagnosed later.. because “theyre just gonna die”.

Dont think insinuating that needing/taking anxiety medication is a "bad" coping mechanism is particularly helpful or accurate. There is obviously an excess which can be a problem, but taking anxiety meds as prescribed is helpful and nessecary for a lot of people and there should be no shame in that. Also not all anxiety meds are created equal buspar is not nearlly as addictive as Xanax.
