- Elizabeth Kuizenga Romijn uses two of her books, Recurrent Action Grammar and Live Action English in an ESL Classroom of high beginners.
What is Recurrent Action Grammar?
Context and repetition! It is a complete beginning course demonstrating a method of repeating grammar lessons weekly during the semester, each time in a different context, in order to reinforce the grammar as well as the vocabulary of each new lesson.
Where does the new vocabulary come from?
From lessons (also called action series) in Live Action English.
What is Live Action English?
A classic that's been around for decades and is used all over the world. This is the first student/teacher book based on James J. Asher's Total Physical Response (TPR). Each page has an illustrated action series of imperatives in a logical order, telling how to do an activity that everyone is familiar with (get up in the morning, chew a piece of gum, iron a shirt, open a present, eat an orange, clean house, take a hike, 75 in all!).
Each lesson is basically an excellent vocabulary lesson which teaches the words in a fun context to be acted out in class. Instructions are included for getting students to the point where they can tell each other what to do, one person giving the “instructions” and the other performing each action as it comes.
Once they have learned the vocabulary, they are ready to learn to use the words in other contexts and in the future, past, present and present progressive tenses.
Check out the clear, detailed instructions in Recurrent Action Grammar to learn how to introduce and practice the future, past, present and present progressive tenses to beginning ESL and EFL students.
Can Recurrent Action Grammar be used to teach any language?
Yes. It is written in English for teaching English, but can easily be adapted to teach any language.
Can Live Action English be used to teach any language?

Vive l'action! Live Action French
Lernt aktiv! Live Action German
Viva l'azione! Live Action italian
Iki Iki Nihongo Live Action Japanese

Thank you for watching.
Dear sister I am from India.I have just watched the video which gives me awesome feeling. This is very useful lesson for non native speakers.
Excellent !!, That's the best way to learn a new language.
This video clip alone is good material to use for both students and teachers. Best part is at 04:30 when Elizabeth Kuizenga Romijn taught with her actions.
