hi, it is totally awesome! thank you for sharing this great inspiration. may i ask you something about this games? was the first word written by the kid is purely from what they want to write or there was actually a brief from you to the first kid to write a word from a specific things such as "food" as you mentioned in your video? thank you in advance!^^
Hey Nadisah! Thank you for your comment love. To answer your question, yes! The first student picked the first word. However, if you want them to have a fair start, you can choose the same word for both teams. I like as I mentioned in my video to choose a category to make it a little bit more challenging though! 😃🙌🏻

Good ideas, but my students usually became very dramatic when come to competing against each other. I had to spent much time to tame them down than running the activities.
I had classes where students do get really competitive and upset if they lose. So instead of ‘let’s see who’s the winner or the fastest’ I just skip that part & be like ‘tell me when you finish’ haha!

Hey sorry for my late response but here’s it:
1-divide the students into 2 groups & make them stand in two lines facing the board
2-pick a them (sports, seasons, clothes, furniture etc)
3-tell the students that this game has 3 rules: a) you get 2 points if you write a word related to the theme. b) you get 1 point if you write any other word. c) you lose 1 point if you misspell a word.
4-the first two students of the two teams start writing their words on the board.
5-after they finish writing their words, they go to the back of the line and the next students write new words that should start with the last letter of the previous word. Ex. If a student wrote ‘car’, the following student should write a word that starts with ‘r’.
You can set a time if you like. That’s pretty it

@@ESLwithTas The activity was great except two students below the level who couldn't enjoy it. Also it should be one round only, as I made two rounds and shuffled the teams but in the second they repeated the same vocabulary.
