This is such a great teaching! I’ll need to go over it a few times and take notes. I had done a little research on the topic of gnosticism prior to watching this, so I was able to understand where you were going… but I’d never heard of the relationship to John’s gospel, that was eye opening.
I wonder if there is a connection to all false religions through gnosticism? Catholicism and praying to the saints (aeons?); Mormons and exaltation (that they can become gods); Hinduism and Buddhism, reaching a higher spiritual knowledge (gnosis).
    Just some thoughts.

The circumcision party was exactly that- a party. Think of it as a sect. Denominationalism.
They didn’t represent all of Judaism in the first century. They certainly didn’t represent the many Jewish people that welcomed Messiah on what is called Palm Sunday- His triumphant entry. Nor does the circumcision party represent the many Jewish people at Pentecost.
The circumcision party were the ones teaching that obedience to circumcision equaled salvation. Which of course was wrong on two levels- 1) God never said circumcision could save you and 2) they were going outside the gates into the gentile world telling them they needed to be circumcised. The command for circumcision was never for salvation but it was only instructed for those within the gates.
Now the gnostics were the ones teaching against eating any meat (clean or unclean) it didn’t matter- for them it was deplorable. Basically Pythagorean’s but it started before Pythagoras. They had a counterculture. They would even take issue with their own pagan Greek and Roman temple sacrifices.
It was very hard for an observant Jew to be vegetarian on Passover when the requirement was to come to the temple and eat lamb. The Pharisees (even with all their own man made rules) didn’t forbid marriage. Now it must be understood that a Jew might refrain from eating meat when traveling but that’s only because they sometimes couldn’t get the assurance the meat was not road kill or strangled. But the issue for the average Jew was not vegetarianism. For them vegetarianism wasn’t a symbol of piousness. That was a man made gentile criteria. When they got home from their travels they knew how to get their kosher prepared and clean meat.

He is a believer in Jesus (Yeshua). He’s Jewish if that matters. I know that some Christians have embraced replacement theology and some are antisemitic and for them it matters if a preacher is Jewish. I’m Mexican but I don’t stop being Mexican just because I believe in the messiah and in the God of the old and New Testament. Jonathan makes some interesting connections to current events and I probably won’t have a problem with him until he tries to set dates on the messiahs return. That would not be good. I have not seen him do that. I attend services on Shabbat (that I believe is the legitimate day of physical rest) but I’m not sure if Jonathan does or not. We can attend services any day of the week. Aside from that: Jonathan knows a whole lot more of the 1st century context than most pastors in America.
      Hope that helps.

It's fascinating that in the west because of Augustin , they still believe sin is a reincarnated "soul flesh thing", contained In a "nature." Not simple rebellion from the heart, with the flesh. An amazing swop. . So if you ask most all western Christians if Jesus had the same nature as a man they all piously, and rebelliously, say, " no of course he didn't have our nature, he didn't have this ( imaginary) sin nature.. Thus deny the incarnation and defend this denial calling all heretics who deny this idea. This Augustinian doctrine of original sin is simple Gnostesism, but they don't see it. Fascinating to me

Please don't lump us all in this heresy! Augustine was and is a major deceiver and many "Protestants" don't realize they're following Augustine by following Calvin (through pastors who learned Calvinism at seminary).
All they need to do is do a Biblical word study of "sarki/sarx". They will find the warning in 1st John 4:2-3 makes sense after they do.
[And hopefully it will lead them to a correct understanding of the identity of Jesus].
It is NOT the sarki that causes people to sin. Yes, it's weak (which is why Jesus says "ye must be born of the SPIRIT" in John 3) but sin is a wilful choice to rebel.
It's clear in numerous verses and passages, not least James 1:12-16.

@@leenieledejo6849 I truly don't lump all together. And yes it was a point that was a bit picky. It is still amazing to me how much of his doctrine persists, even when the preacher preaches right. But great points , and I do take note. I also love this guy's ministry very much and would advise his teaching to anyone 😀

According to JW's Jesus is "a god," and not "God." According to Isaiah chapter 44, verse 24, God alone created the world. However, the New Testament also has verses that assign creation to Jesus. If Jesus helped God create the world, but is not God, then Isaiah 44:24 is a false statement. Also Isaiah 44:6 refers to God as the first and the last. In the book of Revelation, Jesus is revealed as the first and the last. JW doctrine produces a massive contradiction in scripture.

      @@AverLife THROUGH, not "by".
Check the Greek and study it diligently.
Strong's Greek 1223. It can also mean "for the benefit of, for the sake of" and obviously since providing a savior through an heir was in God's mind from the beginning, that makes perfect sense.
Then read Matthew 16:15-18 because "flesh and blood" won't reveal the Truth about Jesus being the son of God to you. Only the Holy Spirit can.
Hence the declarations of Jesus being Messiah ("anointed one") and son of God made by John the Baptist, Nathaniel, Martha etc, none of which Jesus contradicted...
[By the way, I am not a JW. I am just one of these very rare people who spends 95% of their time in Scripture being taught and guided by the Holy Spirit - as Jesus commands in John 14:26 & 16:13 - and 5% listening to men, whereas it seems most other people are doing the complete opposite, sadly...]

The New Testament does NOT have "verses that assign creation to Jesus"!!
That is false and by saying that you imply that the purposeful accounts of his BIRTH in the Gospels are simply "pretense". Be careful what you say.
[And no, I am not a JW].
