This song really defines the 80s, love this song it reminds me of good old days when life was good in Zimbabwe, this song was overplayed on our local radio station 3 such that it was more like a national anthem .
God bless all those who grew up in the 80s it was wonderful having Wet Wet entertaining us all the way.

Fellow Zimbo here. I've been a massive fan of Wet Wet Wet from back in the 80s when I was still in junior school, and this will always be one of my favourite songs. Such a timeless classic ❤

2024 and I’m still here for this. Loved these guys back in the day and I still play them now. Best days ever back then.!I’d give anything to go back for a while and be with everyone who made life amazing. Sadly most have passed away now but songs like this take me right back. 😍😍

We didn’t realise how great it was when we’re were living in it. How the kids of today would have very different opinions on things if they had of been as lucky to of had the competitive music industry that we heard in the 80’s. We were SO lucky….👍..

Had their debut album on cassette and played it over and over and over till the thing broke. I was in primary school and it was all that I listened to every night in my bedroom.....still know these songs word for word!!!

I'm American and I love so many British artist. Wet, Wet Wet is one of my favorite British groups of all times. Temptation and Angel Eyes are a few of my favs. I wish certain Brits like Wet Wet Wet, Dina Carroll, Beverly Craven, Paloma Faith, Shara Nelson, Beverly Knight, and Kenny Thomas had been bigger In the USA. It's ashame they weren't.

@@cricket694 Suspect these people are mistaking this track for Love is All Around in 1994. It didn't make top 10 in UK because it was released after Popped in Souled Out the album was released and everyone had it on the album. The previous released singles from the album were all top 10. All released prior to the album release.

This track is so well recorded! Got the original 1983 CD and the 7inch. One of my favourite tracks of all time.
Plus I remember the first EVER demo of Compact Disc on 'Tomorrow's world' in 1981. That's the Bee Gees again

Yes - the Popped In Souled Out version has that line. The 7" single mix doesn't. This video uses the single mix (which is as it should).
I've seen them live many times & Marti always took such delight in that line, lol. He also used to kinda growl a couple of the lines which had everyone swooning at his feet. Happy times.

Wow! 1988. I was 12 years old starting secondary school, first year when I first this song. It was brilliant, catchy. I ❤ loved it then. Fast forward to March 2024. I'm 48, just heard this song. It still sounds as good as before.....even better. Memories, you can't put a price on them😃

Let me tell you a little story:
When I was seven years old I used to watch a TV show wich was kind of the "top 10 hits".
I used to wait to watch this videoclip, it was my favorite.
Unfortunately, back then, I didn't speak english yet (maybe I stil don't speak it properly), so I had no idea about the lyrics, I only kept its melody on my head and, since I can remember - and believe me, it took me at least 28-29 years -, I tried to find out who was the artist or the band behind that beautiful voice I kept on my memory.
The main problem was the fact that I wasn't even able to remember what the lyrics seemed to say, which words it had in it.
I have spent about two decades trying every search you can imagine, with words I kinda thought that supposedly were close to what I used to hear back in those days, when I was seven years old, and I never succeeded.
Tonight I decided to find it out, didn't matter what, and I just can't believe I did it!
How I did it? I found the voice I always remembered similar to the voice of Wet Wet Wet's lead vocal, and I'm happy that at last I found you guys!
I Couldn't be happier! I couldn't avoid the tears when I finally heard this song that I love so much again, after so many years!
Hope that at least you understand what I've written here, 'cause this song is very important to me and so are you!

My older sister and my mum loved the Wets, and they were always on when I was a kid - in fact they were the first live band I saw, aged 11 at the Birmingham NEC... This is my personal favourite, and I still love belting it out walking around at home. Especially as my wife thinks they are terrible, and I have an insanely loud voice! (It is impossible to do a decent Pellow without properly giving it all the beans.)

They weren’t lumberjacks, it was a chain gang with prison warders watching them with guns. Set in the Deep South of America. Agree it’s a cool video though!
