Dish tip: I load it after dinner, put in detergent, and set the delay start to after bedtime. Just before bed I check for snack dishes and pop them in. This way it runs no matter what and I get the chance to add to it.
Watching Clover’s little floofy tail and paws with that overlay of music was just precious. I must’ve scrubbed back ten times. Thanks for being real with your oven, too. I so identified with that scream at 6:04. ❤
Spray oven cleaner and cover with plastic wrap. Leave for a couple hours and use a scrub daddy (maybe razor blade scraper also)to clean then wipe down with microfiber cloth.
It is really nice to see I am not the only one that struggles with the oven and drains. Thanks for keeping it real.

Oh I so wish you’d been here this morning!!! 😂 I like to do a quick tidy every day throughout my whole house and just pick up what doesn’t belong, put away, swifter and set the robovac. This morning all indications I even knew the word “tidy” left me. Could not get motivated! ❤ oh well. I managed to muddle through and tomorrow is a new day!! 😊

Steel daddy and power paste work AMAZING to clean an oven!!!!
It was over a decade before I attempted to clean my oven. I tried the less toxic route of letting a mixture of baking soda, water, and dish soap sit for awhile but that was a gunky mess to wipe up with very little results. It wasn't alkaline enough to do the job. I'll probably use some fume-free oven cleaner when the weather is nice enough to open all the windows and cover it with plastic wrap like Aurikatariina does. The glass of my oven door looks great because I used a scraper on it like she does. Just avoid the Pink Stuff hack because some oven doors have shattered from using that.
Sugar soap solution is a great multipurpose cleaner. No chemicals and good on grease.

@@jennyjenkins877 It’s usually sold as a yellow concentrated liquid, and is usually used to clean any dirt or residues before painting furniture ect. So maybe you’ll find it in the hardware section or hardware stores in Canada🤷🏾♀️
For the oven, my mom taught me to put foil on the bottom (once clean) to help it stay cleaner longer. And just replace it if things spilled on it or if it’s supper dirty.
I always watch your videos while I'm eating my breakfast at work. Stinky oven and drain cleaning was the wrong choice for me today 😅
As i got my dishwascher and i was soo happy, because i have problems with my hands, so it really helps. My uncle said, that when he could have his dream kitchen he would build in two dishwaschers, because you allways have dishes that wait for the dishwascher to finish🤣🤣. I have never thought of that but it is actually a genius idea. But again i am really happy with the one i have got. For my bathroom sink drain, instead of snaking it, I got a huge wide mixing bowl to put it under the sink pipes (to catch dripping water), unscrewed the plastic U shaped pipe and cleaned out the gunky stuff out of it before screwing it back together. So much easier!
I don't like to clean the oven, but mix baking soda with water like a paste, let sit overnight and then rinse with vinegar, works pretty good
I put an old cookie sheet on the bottom of my oven, and I always avoid the self clean button, as I've seen some stoves have problems after using this feature. Your house is so cute!! Clover, too!!
Wow, this sort of gross dirt I also used to experience. However, now I use baking mats everytime (!). I put one on the bottom and one on the rack. Always. This reduces the dirt to the inside of the door, and this is done in a mettr of minutes 👍
I appreciate these videos so much! I have a similar struggle with my wife, she is not as neat as I am, but I love her so much and she does most of the cooking and working outside of the household for health insurance so I usually don't mind doing all of the cleaning. We do have an agreement around chores that we don't like. I hate snaking drains so she does that, but she hates doing dishes so I do that chore. Oof I haven't cleaned my oven in a loooong time, way to motivate me to do even that Haha those racks looked brand new
So, here's my oven story. In October when last year, I bought a pizza and garlic bread to bake at home for dinner. Because I live alone, I put half of the pizza and half of the garlic bread back into the oven for the next days lunch.
And I completely forgot about it. Finding use the oven often, and I can't remember the last time I used the hob top.
Fast forward to the week before Christmas. I opened the oven, and it was mould city in there. There were actual stalactites and stalagmites in there. The cheese that had melted off the pizza towards the next shelf had mould cheese strings hanging from it. It was incredible.. I closed the door and left it til after Christmas.
It Took me two hours to properly clean it, and I went through one and a half bottles of spray oven cleaner.. I sprayed that on the inside of the glass door, covered it with cling film, left it for an hour, and wiped off most of the dirt, and scraped off the rest. It looked beautiful when it was done. Never again.
For contrast, my bathroom is always immaculate.
Good grief, what a mess! Glad it cleaned up okay. 😀
Now I'm wondering if I've ever cleaned my oven since moving in.....LOL I really wish you still did Zoom consults! I know you're so busy now so I get it but my partner and I moved into a townhouse in Oct and I have STORAGE for the first time in my life but I am struggling in a few areas with how to avoid the "back and bottom".I have HUGE, DEEP shelves in my bathroom and am struggling to find a pull-out solutions I don't have to install into the cabinet. (We rent) Right now my little baskets are not cutting it and getting so messy. But I love watching your videos for inspiration. I have a walk-in pantry now *drool* and I got so many great ideas from you and it's beautiful. :) Love to Clover and thanks for all you do!
I hand vac then steam the oven. Then use power paste and a scrub daddy and it's like brand new. I put the racks in the tub with hot water & a tide pod to soak for a while. Use the power paste & scrub daddy on them too and sparkling freakishly easy & clean. 🤷🏾😐✨✨✨✨
Way to tackle everything! I'm so sorry your oven smelled bad! I haven't ever cleaned my oven and I've lived here almost 7 years... I'm scared to mess with it. I think it has a cleaning function but I'm not sure, I'll have to look into it. Clover is so cute, as always. You look great, again, as always, and your slippers look comfy! A side note about the snacking after dishwasher has started: Set the dishwasher on a delayed start (like 2 or 4 hours) so you (or Hubby) have the opportunity to pop any extra dishes in before heading to bed but it there isn’t anything (or it’s forgotten) the dishwasher still runs! 😊

I had a rough day so I was happy to sit down, have a drink, build in the Sims and watch your motivational cleaning but still feel ok that my house is far from where I want it right now 😊

As always, enjoy your videos, especially when Clover shows his sweet face. Here is a tip: I have been using a Mr Clean regular white scrub pad on the glass of my oven after each use. It seems to do a good job at keeping grease spots down.

Use Easy Off for the oven. Spray on, leave for 1hr and then wipe. Its great!.

Girl! I love your videos! Ovencleaning tip (not that you asked but I've found these to helpful myself🥰) use gloves & mask to minimize your exposure to the toxic fumes of the oven cleaner! I started using kitchen gloves to wash dishes a year ago and my nails are healthier, stronger and hands not as dry either. 😘😍 I use mon ami (or its called bon ami) powdered cleaner and/or the pink stuff for bigger jobs around the house/kitchen. Just some cleaner suggestions for less chemical exposure. Keep posting, your amazing!! Oh yes.. my hubby snacks after a clean kitchen too.. lmao argh!

Have you tried Tub O' Towels? I use them to clean my oven and microwave. Those towels cut though everything, I even use them to get the sticky remnants of price labels off my stuff with minimal effort. Just rolls off. I believe Simple Green has a similar product, but I've never tried it.

If you want to try an AMAZING natural product that cleans ovens fantastically…pick up some Bio Cleaner. It is literally clay from France that removes even the burned on junk that stays stuck on your glass, polishes stainless steel pots and pans, ceramic tile, soap scum, etc. My mom is actually the one that bought me some and I was highly skeptical but I absolutely love it.!

I don't know if you are too averted to chemicals, but if you put oven cleaner on your door and cover it with plastic cling wrap and leave it for an hour or so, it will melt off. So will the stain on the bottom of your oven.

Put a double layer of aluminum foil at the bottom of your oven to catch the drippings.
Everything looks so tidy and organized.. I was wondering if being a professional organizer also means you are a master cleaner? I could see it working out both ways.. Clover is the cutest... yes and I NEVER clean the oven well maybe a few times but I don't even think about it.. just spot clean ...yikes...

I soaked them for a bit but mostly elbow grease, dish soap, bon ami and a scrubby sponge and one of those tiny cleaning brushes! We’re hoping we can find the magic medicine dose for poor little Clover! He’s still his old self but his poor fur has really taken a beating
When I try to use my self cleaning function my dogs freaked out so I stopped it. And I haven’t cleaned my oven forever but I don’t use it that much and it’s not that dirty. I do need to figure out something though because it does need to be cleaned. But it doesn’t matter if I put my dogs in the bedroom with the door shut they still smell it and freak out.

I have dealt with drain flies for years, and they are just the worst. Though I think I got rid of almost all of them last year... with drano. I tried everything else and nothing made them leave.

I believe the glass comes out of the oven door. It is double paned. Probably should Google your model for instructions.

The last time I cleaned the oven (self cleaning) the entire house filled with smoke and it took three hours! We had to open windows and doors because our eyes were burning. My husband said don't do this again. Let's just buy a new one. Lol!

How did you clean the oven racks?
Dish soap, bon ami and some scrubby sponges and brushes. It was very elbow grease heavy 😰
Oh! Had to pause! No! That agua aqua whatever lift absolutely does not work for me. It’s just warm water sitting there. For. Ever. Where are the good ole “let’s lock this thing down and burn this crud off for a couple hours like a 500 degree atomic bomb stoves! I miss those.

I have one of those atomic bomb ovens and using self clean fried the convection fan. The oven was still under warranty so it was replaced at no cost to me.The repair guy told me that after the warranty was done I should never use self clean again. I have no magic solution for keeping my oven clean now. My best advice is to not let any spills sit because they will bake on and take more effort to clean. I wish I had thought to remove my second and third racks. I rarely use them. Right now they are so dirty. I’ve promised myself that with the next oven I buy I will remove the extra racks and only use them if and when I need them.
