It's not candy coated. It serves a different purpose than what Amanda is more suited to. I watch the Real for fun conversations, a good laugh, and lighthearted celebrity nossip with the occasional serious issue. I did not tune in to the show to watch Amanda roll her eyes and talk over her cohosts!
The only problem with that is is Amanda wants to be all up in your face as far asit does come from frustration enough but the thing used in order to have everybody understand if someone is screaming that you are screaming something that you you're not going to take the time to listen

Hollywood. Hollywood loves to take a person and market them. They couldn't market her. She's to untamed and she is constantly her authentic self. They couldn't get her to dial down, they damn sure tried to silence her because any of her "real" moments were often not shared. She'd share the full clip on her channel more often than not. It also says alot about America. It's not ready to hear a strong, intelligent black woman. It was in the comment sections on the Real pages and profiles, as well as Amandas. Producers knew. They followed the majority. It wasn't her platform. I'm not sure Hollywood is. That's not to her discredit, it speaks to her integrity. She's not going to sell out even a little bit for a brand. 100%. It just was not a working combination. The producers tried too hard to add this strong voice to a group that flowed in lighthearted banter. It just didn't make sense.
The real is entertainment and straddling issues isn't their format. They want to touch base on issues and go. Amanda didn't suit the role, she seemed a little too serious.
Amanda was never a good fit for The Real...HOWEVER, I'm disappointed that she's decided to leave NOW when a voice like hers is needed the most. I love the other ladies, but they are not as strong as Amanda when it comes to talking about race and we need these issues talked about on a LARGE platform.
I think the problem is the show wouldn’t allow her that freedom from watching this video. I think she will be better off getting her message out without that show.

I actually enjoyed the fluff conversations they used to have. I’d get my drink on with them and have a virtual girls night, that’s just something I enjoyed and I think most fans did. Whereas Amanda made it more serious, almost like watching the news. At some point you stop watching the news because it’s so depressing. It iss refreshing to have a lighthearted show. Maybe she needs her own show that people can decide to watch when they’re in the mood for the more serious racial issues. No hate it just didn’t seem like the right fit
I totally share your opinion.....I watch the show for its light hearted topics and conversations! It's truly a break from the seriousness of the news. The dynamics of the show before Amanda worked just fine to me. I can truly see Amanda with her own segment on CNN or MSNBC. Speaking about these atrocities, social injustices and racial issues is her whole brand. They knew who she was when they hired her and they should also have known that they wouldn't be able to censor her.
I feel like she didn't match with the others, simply because - YES I do agree everything she spoke about are real issues, but the fact she did it almost non-stop, consistent with the political talks kind of never really gave people a break. As a white woman, I feel like Amanda did a phenomenal job educating me on what it’s like to be black in America. If she made people feel ‘uncomfortable’ about the subject, it’s because they need to take a look inside of themselves. I’m very sad to see her leave, but I completely understand. But I love and respect the fact that Amanda Seales speaks her opinion and talks about REAL shit. The Real was created as a cutesy pop culture show, it was never supposed to be political. They tried changing it up by talking about real issues but they’d already built their fan base off being fun & light hearted. However, she tackled issues head on where the other ladies tap danced around them. She just wasn’t a good fit for THIS group of women. She’s a force to be reckoned with and definitely a voice that needs to be heard. Hollywood. Hollywood loves to take a person and market them. They couldn't market her. She's to untamed and she is constantly her authentic self. They couldn't get her to dial down, they damn sure tried to silence her because any of her "real" moments were often not shared. She'd share the full clip on her channel more often than not. It also says alot about America. It's not ready to hear a strong, intelligent black woman. It was in the comment sections on the Real pages and profiles, as well as Amandas. Producers knew. They followed the majority. It wasn't her platform. I'm not sure Hollywood is. That's not to her discredit, it speaks to her integrity. She's not going to sell out even a little bit for a brand. That's respectable.

The Real was created as a cutesy pop culture show, it was never supposed to be political. They tried changing it up by talking about real issues but they’d already built their fan base off being fun & light hearted. However, she tackled issues head on where the other ladies tap danced around them. She just wasn’t a good fit for THIS group of women. She’s a force to be reckoned with and definitely a voice that needs to be heard. Not everyone carries the same burdens to speak on strong topics like she does therefore her platform needs to be one where she’s the main focus. The REAL was not the platform for her and I knew it from the start that it wasn’t going to work out for her. She is a little rough and abrasive and that’s very necessary when it comes to talking about black issues in our communities but she needs to create her own platform. She’s got enough character to be able to stand alone.

What’s the point of having a show called “The Real” if you’re not being REAL?! I only started watching that show when Amanda came in. No one wants to watch women of color only talk about fashion and celebs-go watch Wendy! The Real has a platform that women of color can talk about Real Life Issues! 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️oh well...there’s always her podcast and there’s definitely more and BETTER things to come for her for sure!

As a women in general in this society we get pushed down. Yes the Real is a cast full of women but the one who speaks about everyone from “ regular people to celebrities.” Unlike the others who focus on celebrities and the drama that comes with them.
