The book is for computer technician certification. Those boxes of parts are for Manitowoc ice machines. I live in Manitowoc Wisconsin where they are made. I live less than a mile from the plant.

Love your vids. We use to go to the local dump scavenging. One day found a carton of unopened champagne bottles. Couple of weeks later someone dumped a refrigerator. It was still cold inside and had a load of food and 10 bottles of beer in it. Party time!

The yellow thing you through in the bucket is for an ice maker it send the water from the supply to the ice maker in shots. The black breaker thing I thinks is for AC units.

Never too early for dumpster champas
Those laptop keyboards are usually aluminum backed and you should be able to get breakage for them. As far as the capacitors it all depends on your scrap yard; mine won't take them due to the charge they might have. That sad, you might want to take care how you handle them. Now let me get a hit of that champagne...lol

That's a #2 Bastard File by the look. Probably $100 easy worth of spray chems and paint, the red marker is for marking on metal or glass-$7 apiece if you have to buy one!

Champagne should be kept cork down 30 to 20 degree angle and stored at 60 to 75 degrees and 20 to 30 percent humidity. This is for very good Champagne from the Astl and Burgundy regions of France.
Scrapping vicariously through your videos; very entertaining.
One piece of advice: Stop jumping down from the dumpsters, climb down instead. I was always a jumper too. I stopped after a bout of epedidymitis (google it) caused by the shock from landing on hard surfaces. NO Fun!!

I believe those laptop keyboards contain silver, small amounts to be sure but worth collecting in large quantities. They are sold on eBay all the time under keyboard Mylar. Some of those electrical parts might just be obsolete (not defective) and worth more for resale than scrap. (Obsolete means hard to find in this instance) It's personal preference really, do you want quick nickle or the slow dime. I made $90 off a pool filter once, so that odd stuff you find is sometimes really worth it. As for the capacitors, I believe they have acid in them and aren't supposed to be recycled especially the ones with plastic cases, but they look new and could probably be resold either separately or as a lot.

Mike no need to pop the top off. Just make sure it is empty and on the side that round disc looking thing you drill a hole in it. The motors are warranty returns just worth there weight!
Hey! A build-your-own ice-maker set!
Check the wires on that stuff you think is old, bad warranty stuff. They are easy enough to check if they work and big companies just write off stuff due to age/ obsolescence. Test them or list as condition unknown with the original boxes could be $$$$. All those motors had important info you could have used when /if you listed them. Hopefully you hold off on scraping some oddball stuff like those components before researching or see if anyone in comments know what you’ve found. Great Videos!!!

Someone else may have mentioned this before me. Not sure. The computer laptop keyboards they might be worth something if they are not missing keys and the ribbon cables are with them attach still and not ripped. If you're able to test to see if they work. You may get something for it.
Capacitors can be sorted into their component materials like the air filters.
Caution, used capacitors store electricity and can pack quite a wallop. Research discharging capacitors.
Hehe, I have found that out a few times so now discharge them before touching them.
@@MegaDirtyberty I scrapped out some industrial equipment once that had four 50k volt capacitors in each one. They weighed about 4 lbs each and were the aluminum foil type. Scared the crap out of me. They are probably still on the shelf in my old garage.

A+ certificate is a what you need to get a basic entry level computer job in most cases but if you want to learn how to build a computer that book will show you how if it’s not to old. They redo these types of books every couple of years to keep up with the technology!
it’s a text book of sorts that teach you how to fix computers....you pass the certification and get the big bucks....
